you can build your own samurai armour which is what I did an it ran me about $600 an 6 months to build..it is a pain to put on an wear but I cant think of anything else i d rather wear an die in a battle in.
DJBear is right that took pretty long to get on and would be a nightmare to do yourself! Looks sweet though worth it for the awesome picture and good video.
On a side note I'm not sure if you follow him but did you see Posatrocible has posted a video of his wedding in Japan up? It's really good, well worth a watch.
@RyanfaeScotland I don't know Posatrocible, but I'll check it out. I haven't seen an actual Japanese wedding, but was invited to the wedding reception for one of my co-workers. Apparently the wedding itself was only for close friends and family
@MessagesFromEarth Cool did you go to the reception? By the look of the video Posatrocible put up the wedding was quite expensive so I wouldn't be surprised that it's only family and friends invited, I think in Scotland it's normally that way aswell.
@RyanfaeScotland Yeah all the ALTs got to go except for one or two who were out of town. It was a really nice dinner. Something like seven courses. The bride changed dresses 3 or 4 times throughout the evening. Interesting experience
@MessagesFromEarth Sounds like it was really good. So I was talking to my friend's the other day about your video and we were wondering if the Satsuma domain is related in anyway to the fruit? Probably not :)
@RyanfaeScotland As a matter of fact, the Satsuma orange originates from Japan, and is usually called mikan here. It got the Satsuma name because durring the Meiji restoration it was imported to the US from Satsuma (now Kagoshima).
@DJBear You're right, it would be a difficult thing to do to put on your armor by yourself. In medieval Europe every knight would have a squire to help them. I imagine that Japan had something similar
@samurai95407 Post a video of your armor.

putting the armour on out of order how strange, wearing katana with yoroi instead of tachi.

@BeccaTheBee When you come to Japan, and you see the opportunity to wear Samurai armor, do it. Best advice I can give
MessagesFromEarth 1 year ago
Really? That was in Sengan-en? I didn't know they had that there. Maybe it's just for Golden Week.
Anyway, that's pretty cool.
giuliafelix 1 year ago
@giuliafelix Yeah, just for Golden Week, and probably more specifically for Boys' Day. I believe they'll be there through the 5th

Looks fun. Though seems like a painstakingly process of putting everything on, if someone wasn't there to help you.
