  • HERMOSO PAISAJE Y HERMOSA CANCIÓN...ME RECUERDA MUCHAS COSAS...

  • this one brings peace to my heart ♥

  • The best lyrics I've ever heard.

  • This is perfection

  • Phenomenal. This song gives me goosebumps

  • @redninja2010 I'd argue that Explosions in The Sky do.. xP Both are the best bands to ever exist IMO.

  • Why are most of sigur ros videos blocked?

  • dripping through atomic bombs on my own

falling inside nuclear weapons all alone

    running through warfare running home

lies and greed let me alone

i want to see every tree perfectly

i want to see you and me completely

love is light and light is day

let humanity stay let love become the way

  • @norton36456 these the lyrics? If there not and this is some personal poetry then its very good haha

  • why the hell are all the related videos about penises??

  • i have only ever literally stopped in my tracks whilst listening to a song!that song is "ny batteri" my god! sheer brilliance! and quite nothing i have ever heard before!!!

  • You shouldn't have remove the Heima video...

  • ...

  • I can never explain why, but despite not actually knowing what they are singing, Sigur Ros has the ability to stir my emotions more than any other band. This song is beyond beautiful.

  • @Yog101 The cool thing is, no-one knows what they are singing in this song. Well, except them. They use a language called Hopelandic which is basically gibberish but is essentially a language only they know what it means.

  • @Yog101 that's probably because the music itself brings out emotions that are beyond lyrical affect. Personally, I rarely focus on the lyrics of a song, and this is most definitely why Sigur Ros brings out stronger feelings in me than any other artist. You understand the sonic mood of the song without relying on words.

  • Look up "while the city sleeps-back when we knew", similar soundscapes and big crescendos.

  • nicely done, reminds me of a scene in the movie "Mister Lonely".

  • this is heaven

  • It seems like Sigur Ros's song are so similar but I can pick out so many different themes to all of them.

  • This is beautiful. The music and the sound. It resonates really well. I could paint to this for hours. :)

  • hermoso, quizás demasiado hermoso para este mundo... Sigur Rós debe ser de las mejores bandas de la historia... Amazing.

  • everything sigur ros makes just sounds so beautiful always

  • True artists!

  • amazing.. i love Sigur Rós, the best band in the planet.

  • @MrThatmeanguy1995 Flugufrelsarinn is mine.

  • @MrThatmeanguy1995 all of them

  • @MrThatmeanguy1995

    ara batur

  • forget it...I just found it :)

  • Hey, where can I find this version of Von?...Has it been officially released on any album? I really prefer that version over the old "Von" version.

  • @Hepanlol Album Heim/Hvarf, CD Heim :). You could find it on Amazon.com (/gp/product/B000WY983O) and in the Internet ;). Von from CD Hvarf is quite good too :).

  • niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • THEY FIGURE IT OUT! using the voice as another instrument with lyrics but without lyrics!

    so genius and beautiful! ...

  • @Rikimaru471 woah, that is an awesome idea that I can't recall hearing elsewhere.

  • This version is sooo much better than the one on the "Von" album. Awesome...

  • stunning.

    Thanks, chesire.

I'd love to see this on a theater sized screen!

  • The thing I love most about this band is the atmosphere they create. They make the most breathtaking music I've ever heard.

  • @crouchisawesome got to agree with you! i am nearly 50! and have never experienced anything quite like these people!

  • increible

  • I like it, but I feel as though the panning should be smoother. Sigur Ros is smooth music and the video should reflect that.

  • @redninja2010 haha. i feel the same way about sigur ros. they are amazing. and also my husband is using you redninja2010 screen name as a screen name on a video game because my husband is the red ninja.

  • awesome!! ;)

  • Thumbs up if you're here from Metanoi films - Scott Noble's film about Social Engineering...

  • @MarioSavioTZM I love that docu, It's called Psywar i think, is this song from there or something?

  • This song is arguably the most relaxing and emotion filled masterpiece of the past century. In a world filled with hate, crime, and lust, we always have the ability through musical influences such as Sigur Ros to just step back, and re-evaluate ourselves.

  • @DJrephlex Staralfur dude...that song is even more magical and relaxing

  • this always makes me cry, its so beautiful, my uncle introduce me to sigur ros, we played this at his funeral.

  • @redninja2010 I'll never forget the day I said those exact words. I'm glad you found it.

  • I think I have a warped feeling on Alabama, because I never expected somewhere looking THAT nice in Alabama. Maybe it's just because of the fog? I dunno. Great song.

  • i took the PSAT today... and these guys were mentioned!! i go so excited!! there was a question about them!!! of course, it was about grammar, but still...

  • 0:05 - 0:18 There's a fairy! O:

Love the song and video. ^_^

  • im icelandic and this band makes me even more proud of it :) i love that song and cool video :)

  • @rachjay4 I don't know why people like you feel that freedom of speech doesn't apply on Youtube, i'll watch whatever videos i want, and i'll post my opinion if i feel the need, if you don't like what i say then don't read it.

  • @GuhYeahRight u are a fucking hippy.

  • Hahha I only speak English, and it sounds like he is saying "inside of your nose".

  • Do you guys know the feeling that you're weeping over a song, because it's beautiful? Not feeling any harm, but just this incredible feeling.

  • The genre for this band is simply 'music'

  • The song "von" on the album with the same name, sounds nothing like this. A bit of help maybe? Is this version not found on the albums? Is it on one but with a different name?

  • @chrintov It's the same tune, basically, just different. I don't know jack about music, so I can't tell you how exactly. It's more passionate I guess. This version comes from their documentary video, Heima. I'd recommend the version of Hafsol from the video soundtrack too, it's awesome.

  • @droueche58 i found the tune i was looking for :) it's actually on the album Hvarf/Heim

  • @chrintov Well yes, that is the soundtrack for their "rockumentary", what I was referring you to.

  • BTW where is the video from?

  • @TheCheshireCat86 It was an early morning trip down Sand Mountain in Alabama.

  • @frostbiteblog

    It's eerie and beautiful

Thanks for the vid, coupled with this song it's truly numinous.

  • @frostbiteblog haha I love Sand Mountain! Great place as long as your white.. lol. I go up there to visit friends every once in awhile... beautiful up there.

  • @frostbiteblog I know exactly where you're talking about. I am from Tennessee.

  • @frostbiteblog Amazing place

  • @frostbiteblog wonderful video

  • @frostbiteblog Why is that answer so thumbs upped? o_0

  • @TheCheshireCat86 ICELAND

  • Auf dieses Video antworten... YouTUbe.

  • You matched the video to the mood and spirit of the song perfectly.

    Bravo!

  • I love these guys, i love it even more that i haven't got a clue what they are saying, music like this doesn't need words to take your own meaning from it! i love it!!!!!

  • Awsome:)

  • It may sound far fetched, but Sigur Ros is like the pinnacle of my musical interest. Everything else is just a substitute

  • @sbnr yes! i am pushing fifty and grown up loving ,early genesis,zep,floyd,u2,then talk talk, radiohead etc.and i have never experienced music quite like this. Perfection!?

  • Breathtaking <3

  • no words fantastic

  • what does that word(s) mean around the 3:20 mark...i hear it in a bunch of their songs.

  • Szép...

  • Love this song so much, Check out my Sigur Rós & M83 Videos, Hope you like them youtube.com/user/JoySki87

  • Fantastic song!!!

  • There aren't trees like this in Iceland.

  • IWCIFC

  • no need to comment, no need to speak, no need to think;

all you need is to imagine when you listen to this song.

  • @MdmaMadnesS I looked-up Nyctalgia as you suggested - I'm very glad I did. The track you mentioned is as you say breathtaking. Thanks.

  • @MdmaMadnesS TNX for the tip.

  • I love the sound of their music, and though I feel the emotion, I don't understand the lyrics :-(

Anyone able to offer a translation?

  • @Skittledemographic he sings in hopelandic, a made up language based on pure sound with no literal meaning

  • @flavioy2f Only certain songs are in Hopelandic. A large portion of their music is in Icelandic.

  • @Dakarn i'd heard they were spanish

  • @doobeedoobeedooo you heard wrong. :)

  • This song is so full of emotion. One of myfavourites. Whenever you have the possibility to experience Sigur Rós live. You should take the chance..

  • Wich album is this music from? Im trying to get it, but i cant find this specific song.

  • @lklava On the album 'Von'. This is the title track.

  • @FailboatSkipper Thanks, but Ive found this exactly track on the album 'Hvarf' Dont know if its the same on the album 'Von'. Great song btw.

  • @lklava The "Von" on the Album "Hvarf-Heim" is a B-side/rarity. They "perfected" it as time went on, after it was released in 1995. They had 15 years to work on improving the song, per se.

  • @lklava hwarf/heim is the album name.

  • @indieyfest *hvarf

  • I don't know who you are, nor you me but if you are listening to this and loving it as I am , I LOVE YOU

  • unbearable beauty

  • i still cant find them...my senses have departed into optical states of understanding

  • I have only recently heard of this band, and I'd like to thank the man that turned me onto them because I am moved by this music and it renders me speechless. WOW, that's all I can say, just WOW

  • Sigur Ros's music makes my soul cry...

  • My favorite band.

How I wish to see them live!

  • This is honestly the one song I cannot fully listen to sometimes all the way through. because its too powerful of a song. Get instant chills

  • BEYONDLY ANYTHING A HUMAN CAN EVER HEAR..This is Beyondly Extruciantly amazingly A perfect Song..The Words that Turned to music and never left ur mouth..Perfection conquers the realm of this Song....OF THIS GODESS..My god..its....its..: \

  • No matter how many times ive listened to this song, I always get shivers up my spine.

  • wow thats probs the most beautiful thing ive heard for a while :)

  • ..Makes me Cry everyfucking time..any1 has this on MP3?..but just like this?!..

  • This song is sung in Icelandic, but some of their songs are sung in Hopelandic which is a language Jonsi made up for the melody. Von is hope in Icelandic.

  • this song hurts my heart.

  • mine too ;(

  • post rock is epic....look also for explosions in the sky if you like sigur ros you definiteley like them too

  • [[My tribute to the great Icelandic band Sigur Ros]]

    Thanks! Their songs are amazing!

  • I want to star a post rock band. Jonny Cashmore at myspace. Anyone want to make music?

  • i got the exact same feeling i heard post rock for the first time!

  • this is almost exactly what I picture when I hear the intro to this song.

    not even joking.

  • what do you picture in your mind?

  • The first rays of sunlight breaking through a misty forest...almost this video but a bit more pink/blue. Maybe scenes of people in slowmo but mostly what is pictured on the video.

  • Frieden der seele... O die Nähe des Todes... Heilige Nacht...

  • The studio version of the song would've been better, other than that, nice job. Gave you 4 stars.

  • Von & Fog

    perfect combination

  • "The language they created" isn't a language. It's Vonlenska a series of musical phenoms based on syntax. It's meant to create mood within the songs. And create moods it does, their songs pwn.

  • It is a language, just a non-literal language without fixed syntax. it consists of emotive syllables and phonemes which is what i think you were trying to say (re: the phenom(sic) comment) though they aren't based on syntax, that doesn't make sense.

  • "based" I meant "looked like" it was based on linguistical syntax. That is why it looks like a language. I never meant that it HAD any at all.

  • holy macroni.. This song is somehow inspiring...

    I feel like... Going up!

  • weres the song.. "you sigh alone" dont sigur ros play that..??

  • yes, sigur ros plays that. its called "the nothing song". but they aren't actually saying "you sigh alone". they are speaking a language they created that is similar to Icelandic.

  • @shysta11 there's no you sigh alone.. that's just how some people hear the words in this song

  • It's easy to forget that it isn't even a language. Sometimes it really does sound like "you sigh alone"

  • Does anyone know if there is really no meaning to the words they use of if the're keeping it a secret? Seems to me it really difficult to remember those words if there's really no meaning to them at all. And he sings the same "words" everytime

  • There is meaning to the words. The meaning is what ever you wish to get from them. That is what sigur ros wanted.

  • @69drummerdude In an interview Jonsi said the words mean nothing, that he is just using sounds in his voice as if it was an instrument. no meaning, just music. I can totally get that. there are so many times I wish I could just sing with no bullshit meaning to it, so when I heard this it made total sense:)

  • they picked one of their best songs and made it become even better

  • Beautiful place and beautiful composition!

  • fragile track

  • Does anyone know the lyrics? They were not available in the band's website. :)

  • In English I mean. English translation.

  • There is none. The lyrics are in hopelandic, a language made up by the band to suit their songs. There's no meaning to it.

  • Thank you. I appreciate the info.

  • It's made up by the icelantic people themselves, it's another language wich cannot be translated. atleast that's what i'v heard

  • The music of Sigur Ros, is, without a doubt, the most beautiful music I have ever heard in all of my 26 years in this world. They are tragically underrated and under appreciated! They express the intensely magnificent beauty and unconquerable hope that dwells deep inside of the human heart.

Jonsi truly has the voice of an angel.

  • i have the same opinion and i have 22 years

  • Check a band called The Album Leaf.

  • @Ccomaffayod For fans of sigur ros try listening to explosions in the sky ;P

  • @Ccomaffayod Be glad they are underrated and under appreciated... otherwise, perhaps their music would become more commercial...and less brilliant.

  • @klappahunda That doesn't quite make sense to me. There are plenty of bands that are commercial and capable of remaining brilliant or even more so.

  • @klappahunda They got to play Festival in the movie 127 Hours. Great film. Great band.

  • @Ccomaffayod I agree without a doubt... Sigur Ros has been with through the toughest and happiest moments of my life, I healed with their music, put to sleep with their music, cried and smiled to their music. It is truly music that were conjured from the hearts of angels. Deep, pure and most importantly, real. - celine

  • Wow, this one made me shed a tear

  • This song always makes me cry. It is so very beautiful. It always makes me think of my Grandmother who died on my 21st birthday. This song puts into words what I could never ever speak....

  • Here's another good song from them watch?v=lGaA6OS1bN0 they got a lot of music like this so you kind of have to listen to all their music to find the ones you really like. I can say that they are easily on of my top fav bands of all time, and that's not putting it lightly.

  • I sang this song to my mother on my 21st birthday

  • do you have a link ?

(And stupid people that put negative notes on this post... )

  • This video is fantastic! Lovely video to a lovely song! :)

  • Thank you!
