Tony, its simply not true that all people lived in peace. Jews and Christians lived as 2nd class citizens under Muslim rule...you've heard the terms "dihmmitude" and "Jizya" among others I'm sure. Also there were several major massacres by Arabs against Jews pre-1948. Just look it up. Also, you listed percentages. Yes, far fewer Jews lived in the middle east compared to Arabs...which is why israel is only 0.03% of the land mass held by Arabs...seems more than fair to me.

93% of lands is for Jews only. Only 5% of civil servants are Arab. In1948 Arabs owned 25% of land now they own only 3%. Arab schools and towns only get a fraction of the money that Jewish ones get. East Jerusalem has only one library and one swimming pool. West Jerusalem has 30 libraries and 20 swimming pools. There are dozens of Arab villages which are "unrecognized" ie. they do not exist on maps and recieve no water or electricity or sanitation and people cannot vote in municipal elections.

First of all nearly all the land "owned" by the JNF or ILA is still legally owned by Palestinian refugees or Palestinian Israelis it's just been stolen from them. The JNF has a policy that land can only be leased to Jews. A person gets Polish or British or American Nationality by gaining citizenship of that country. It doesn't matter what religion, race or sex you are. In Israel because it is defined as a Jewish state you only get Nationality if you are Jewish. There is no such thing as Israeli Nationality only Jewish Nationality. BIG DIFFERENCE!

The war was started by the Jews. It started during the mandate period, when Jews started expelling and massacering Palestinians this happened during the mandate period(Deir Yassin for example). British troops refused to intervene and even supplied trucks and boats to evacuate the Arab population.
Arab countries intervened to try and stop the massacres and expulsions.

The Jordanian army was the strongest Arab army without them was no chance of the Arabs winning. The Palestinians had no army at all! They had been brutally crushed by the British in the 1930s. In fact the war was a complete walk over for the Zionists who were far better armed and trained.

A good example is Mao - he killed more people than Hitler did in WW2, but that does not mean that Hitler's deeds are suddenly good, now are they?
