Thanks for the video! My problem is not the battery - it's the metal inner "arm" (that you fit the toothbrush head onto). It appears to have broken inside.
Old question I realize, but may help other people today.
I had the broken thing too, I thought, until I took it apart as this video shows how. Turns out that a small screw came loose put back in & tightened the screw it was an easy fix - like new now!
My inner metal arm broke too, right at the bottom where it links to the magnet. So the magnet fell down and attached directly to the coil core ends. Now the unit just buzzes without vibrating when turned on. The unit worked twice a day for about 3.5 years. I'm assuming I will never be able to repair the broken one. The battery is still working well so I guess I'll hang on to it incase the battery in the other handle goes out before the metal breaks.
@shortrandy I had the exact same problem, and I just repaired mine. All you need is put together the little metal pieces bellow the inner metal. There is a small screw in a triangle in one of the pieces, the triangle shaped one, just tight it up making sure the metal arm is secure, and that's it... It's very easy. Thanks for the video, btw... I didn't know how to open it (agree with scottwrightson, you can turn either way, just be gentle).
My inner arm had a loose phillips head screw. When I turned on the toothbrush the head would kind of vibrate, but it could move it around and back and fourth kind of like a pendulum. Once I got inside it was easy to see that the phillips screw had come completely loose. I tightened the screw and the toothbrush works like brand new again.
Did you arm break completely and came off or does it seem like it's broken? I found that mine seemed like it was broken and when I opened it up, I found a philips screw on the arm that was loose. Once I tightened it, it worked fine from there on.
As I already replied before, you can turn either way - clockwise or counter-clockwise. Once you get the inner part out you will see for yourself there is no difference :)
Actually, after mangling the bejeezus out of the base, I found it was much more effective to simply insert a very small flat screwdriver between the rubber handle and the base (You just need to get it out past the o-ring). Also found a loose head screw at the top. Looks like Philips needs to find another supplier for threadlocking liquid. When you pop one of these babies open, make sure you are doing it on a surface that will allow you to easily spot & capture any bits that spill out.
i stripped it too-out of warranty, and out of luck-it's in the recycling bag now--it wasn 't a batt. issue-held charge very well, just wouldn't vibrate
Well, as you know by now it does not always open easily. You can turn the cap both clockwise or counter clockwise for at least 35 degrees or so. If you stripped the plastic one way try to go another way. Also, make sure to use as large screwdriver as you can to make sure you have the best grip possible. I hope this helps.

Thanks! Taking apart FlexCare is mush easier than Elite or even Advance (which needs to be cut in half). But then again you need to know how to do it. User guide has some tips for that but you would hardly think about looking there unless you are very particular about recycling :)

Has anyone sourced the replacement battery?
Is there one of better quality that lasts longer?
Thanks for the Video :)
