  • was that tune required for the trickflow cam? L have that same cam but im afraid to put it in without a tune.

  • @FawxbodyGT If all you're changing is the Cam the stock tune will work just fine if you're using everything else stock. Mines re-tuned to take advantage of extra air flow provided by aftermarket heads and intake. Not to mention the extra fuel by using a bigger injector.

  • Very nice the stage 1 reminds me of how my f cam idled. Now ive got a fully built trickflow motor. Just finished breakin man the trick cams hit hard with flattops. Very nice clean car tho. Check my channel out ill be posting more vids once i get this website figured out lol

  • I have a 94 Cobra, its all original, few bolt ons, stock internals. I was looking into going with the TrickFlow Stage 1 cam, but then value goes down. What do you guys think?

  • @NightGod07 Depends what you care about more, your Cobra's value, or it's performance. If you want to keep that one stock, then pick up another 5.0 GT, or something not as rare that is a lot cheaper, then just mod the hell out of that!

  • @Coolio56ification I hear ya. Im gonna have to say I care more about my Cobras performance, I think I'll mod the hell out of that. Late Model Restoration is replacing the 347 with a 363 pushing 500hp outta the box, whe I get out of the Army I think I'll order that 363.

  • What does it do in the 1/4?

  • @nocki5oh No idea, it's never been down the quarter mile. Probably never will. Suspension isn't setup for drag racing anyway. Tuned for road coarse racing, canyon carving, or any other curve I find that needs to be straitened out. :)

  • What intake is that?

  • @imAuToMaTiiC That's a GT-40 Tubular intake. The one they based the Cobra and 'Explorer' intakes off of.

  • I have the same cam in my 92 f-150 5.0L but mine doesnt idle the same. What do you have your idle timing set at. My f-150 is supposed to be set at 10 degrees BTDC but I have it advanced a little at 12 degrees BTDC. Ive been thinking about advancing timing a little so it can idle better like yours... Also what rpm is your car running at idle I might just need to adjust throttle body so it can idle at a higher rpm. Please let me know...

  • @supadupaflyplaya My base timing is set at 14 deg. BTDC since I run 91 Octane mostly with my Alum heads. Base idle RPM is tuned to 700 rpm in the computer. I use a Moates Quarterhorse piggy back chip in my 93' Cobra computer so I can adjust the tune on the fly. Also my idle may sound like that because I run an Off Road H-pipe. Are you running Dual exhaust on that F150?

  • @68mustangcoupe1 No issues at all. You can use this cam in a stock 5.0 if you wanted to increase top end a bit. Works best however with a complete H/C/I upgrade. It's become quite the popular off the shelf cam(vs a custom grind) for those wanting something better than a E or B cam from Ford.

  • @SternLX are you using 1.6 or 1.7?

  • @68mustangcoupe1 Pedestal mounted 1.6:1 Proform RR's.
