  • Reverb and delay = turn it down please

  • 0:35 my fav part

  • Brother, not only a great tone, but it sounds BIG. What amp are you playing through and are you running anything else in line with the BK. I really like your tone. So many other demos sound like a fuzzy farts. You absolutely pegged it! Thanks again for the demo.

  • @jrocky1 Thanks; Just a strat, BK Butler, (a bit delay) Fender HRD with Jensen speaker.

  • also..i do use "xotic ac pedal ..which really sounds good ! so when i plugged in the "butler ...bummer .

  • i tried the low gain settings ...nothing changed..still distortion and compression....i will callbutler tomorrow! could be atube . but.... thanks again.!

  • thanks jdiuurdfsds! i did buy from butler ...will check tube. thanks !!

  • @gittar1 Let me know if it works... Otherwise I would contact BK.

    When testing;

Try very low gain settings (at 7 o'clock) and take it from there, this pedal starts to distort very early.

  • just bought a butler tube driver ...plugged it in ..tweaked it ..and all i got was "distortion " and compression"!! tweaked the knobs ..nothing changed ! whats with that ? any help would be appreciated !! thanks

  • @gittar1 Sounds like a problem. Did you buy it from BK Butler himself; send it back.

    Is the tube inside OK?

  • @gittar1 I have the same problem....WTF?

  • Why do you need two? im new to this...

  • Where can i get the B. K . Butler tube driver ???

  • what pedal sounds similar to this? i dont have 300 bucks right now :(

  • @Teutonic1250 Perhaps a BOSS BD2...

  • @Teutonic1250 Ibanez ts-7 for about 30 bucks on sale.

  • @Teutonic1250 check out OKKO Diablo

  • @Teutonic1250 OCD

  • @Teutonic1250 I have an OCD and just bought Tube driver too. OCD definitely gives you a good range of options & sound. Try OCD first & see if you like it. Good Luck!

  • Is this plainly with the tube driver or did you use any of the other effects? Btw nice playing.

  • if i have a tube amp (Marshall JVM410) already and it has an effects loop built in, what would be the benefit of the tube driver?

  • You could put the TD before the amp and get different sounds / combinations.

  • ah ok thank you very much! : )

  • mine craped out on me!!!! its the butler but was made by "tubeworks"- a division of genz benz. i paid 50 bucks for it. what a piece of shit!!! keeps cuttin out so i gotta stop playin and punch the switch a few times like its got a short in it or something? idk, fuckin piece of shit.

  • The BK Butler version is hand made by the master himself; solid as a rock.

    I guess, the Tube Works isn't ...

The Chandler version is OK too.

  • Yeah, Tubeworks is dolphin poo. Get a Chandler or the original Butler if you can find it. The Chandler is Butler's design, I believe, but not necessarily built by him himself. I have a Chandler and the thing ROCKS.

  • sweet, maybe it would be a wise investment 4 me to get one of them puppys.

  • I have the original version he makes now, not the 9volt dc three knob "chandler version". The 4 -knob version he makes now is quality! GREAT pedal! What version do you have? Does it say BK Butler on it? Also is it 9volt? 3 Knob?

  • actually man, it's a tube works 4 knob version it says bk on it but not by him and looks just like the real deal but i cant really say that it works like one though because it's a broke down piece of shit !! sux man!! 50 bones down the drain!!

  • @kdjfnvjvd idiot, you have a bad switch, or a cold solder joint and calling it a piece of shit? moron. replace the switch.

  • @brownbigb hey, imature moron, if you buy a pedal you must know how to use soldering irons or to replace the stuff you bought? who replaces the money or the time or the effort? if I break your neck and then say "go to hospital", what about that?

  • @unclesamfatg i am your huckleberry.

  • @unclesamfatg i am your hucklebbery you romanian piece of shit. i forgot that you guys haven't even figured out the fire yet

  • whats the best bk butler or the ibanez

  • i have the ibanez and is a very good overdrive pedal , but the Tube Driver , have more gain. Both are very good pedals, all depends that the sound that you want.

    PD: sory about my english.

  • what would the tube driver sound like through a tube amp THANKS

  • I do it all the time...

    It sounds great !

  • Love this pedal. I think Eric Johnson and Andy Timmons love too! By the way, how much is it?

  • For sure Eric Johson and Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top).

More info, just google BK Butler Tube Driver... He has an Ebay shop as well.

  • Gibbons uses the Real Tube, but Eric Johnson uses the Tube Driver. Both are BK Butler.

  • Actually Billy Gibbons recently switched to the 5 knob version of Brent Butlers new "reissue" Tube drivers. I think he mainly uses it to crank his amps, not really for a huge distortion boost. One awesome thing Willie G does is he uses multiple amps at the same time to create a unique "symphony" type sound(because every amp is slightly different). You should really try it!

  • nice dude .. just finished my clone of this :D sadly it`s the one on GGG with the 12.7v AC , but still has bite, sustain and everything....the only main problem is the 60hz hum on my clone :( i`m sure it`s just a grounding issue

  • ... thanks, hope you can fix it.

  • You have two TUBE Drivers... what is the difference in the models? Is the one currentley being made as special order..just like the original in your opinion... understand on website he says just like the original...

  • They are the same as the original (told me BK Butler).

I know David Gimour has new ones in his pedalboard, so I guess they are good :-)

(I think, new tubes needs some time to sound right)

  • Great job man!

  • i have one of these and it sounds scratchy when its past 2 on the tube drive. not sure whats wrong. maybe i need to have my amp louder. it is a 65 deluxe reverb. i only had it on 2 as well

  • Pete cornish :D

  • Why the sound I'm listening to in this clip does not like me ?

  • my Butler tube driver has 3 knobs (1993) what's the difference?

    check my video... thx

  • Don't know exactly...

The old Chandler version (4 knobs) is probably closer to the original BK Butler design.

The new ones (4 knobs) are hand made by BK himself.

  • Hey man it's the old tone !!

  • how much can i get one of these tube drivers for? and do they clean up with the volume knob?

  • they do clean up with volume knob.

For more info google for butleraudio.

  • Why two?

    Lucky!

  • just two different settings...

  • I don't know better overdrive than BK's Tube Driver at drive settings between 1 and 5. It starts almost clean and comes serious at 4, but after 5 drive comes a bit soft and undefined. Just good to know: BK Tube Driver versus Cornish G-2 what for is good one/other ?

  • The G-2 is a Fuzz / distortion.

A bit like a Big Muff.

The Tube Driver is an overdrive.

    My favourite pedal!

  • Hi, Great sound! I have also BK Butler's Tube Driver with bias mode:) Tell please how sounds your Cornish G-2? Is it same level or better pedal?

  • G2 is more like a distortion, lots of mid.

TD goes from clean boost to heavy OD, with more low end.

    Both pedals are first class!

    They just do sound different.

  • that sounds awsome!

  • man, is great pedal for sure, but what do u think to use as a booster? whit high volume e drive set to zero? i'm search for one pedal to this function, i dont like tube screammer, to much mid range, i think tube driver whit bass and treble control could be a good clean boost, what do u think?

  • Yes absolutely!

Listen to my EMG clip "Shine On.."

I used very low gain on the TD.

  • Where did you find Hot Rod Deluxe with Jensen Speakers...I can't find anywhere?

  • Its a limited edition.

You could buy a std. HRD and swap the speaker. It does improve the sound.

  • does gilmour used this pedal for "shine on you crazy diamond"?

  • Yes :-)

  • it's good for blues?

  • Yes, very good (using less gain then my demo) :-)

It is not as mid focused as a Tube Screamer.

  • awesome pedal. I use it to record stuff directly onto my computer.

Use an 8th inch to a half inch outlet. Plug one into the pedal, and one directly into Line In on your computer.

  • Easy way of recording :-)

  • Awesome tone, thanks for the demo....good song choice.

  • Thanks :-)

Actually I used a Tube Driver for the solo on my EMG clip as well, using (very) mild OD settings.

  • Cool, vintage :-)

Just fooling around with my video software.

  • woah, that is a lot of grey pedals... whatever happened to flower power?
