Eye for an eye is all good when you put it on paper, but in reality people are wrongfully accused, and convicted of crimes they didn't commit... obviously not in this case, but that's why Canada doesn't have capitol punishment.
This is really messed up, makes you think about the people you come in contact with on a day to day bases.
there is new news on the topic. Vince Li who did this is quite mentally ill, according to reports that are coming out. He thinks god ordered him to do it, because the kid was some terrible monster who would take his life or something like that... so he's sentenced to a mental institution where he'll be reviewed annually for his fitness to return to society.
The family of the dude is quite upset that he has a chance of being let out.
It's against my religion to use the "eye for an eye" thing. You know your gonna get mad at me for this but have you considered that all the screwy ass things are happeing in the world because people are giving up there once prominent faith in god?
Leviticus 19:18 to be exact. But it also says that Jesus Christ says forgive those who have done harm to you. It's just the way I am. I don't like holding grudges. It's un-Godly.
Lev? Really - thought if was Exodus. Anyway - Um, Yea I forgive people, and I don't keep grudges either, I just don't think its a nice trait in people. Funny how we have some similarities and I consider myself an Atheist. =) yay.
Im sorry this is a horrible response. Im pretty sure if the cops would have shot the guy in the head they wouldn't have been any better than the guy. 2nd) I don't think there are any rules in Australia restraining you from having a knife on the bus, the security isn't like airplanes. The thing to note is that the people were evacuated the situation contained and the man was apprehended, as in most cases the person in the vehicle was dead already and the top priority was to protect the others.:S
Okay, look; I am Canadian. I live in Toronto (which is actually pretty far from where this actually happened) but this whole thing was still really scary for me too.
What I want to say is: you're completely welcome to your opinion but unless you've read every article and every court transcript about this case, you can't judge our system. I'm not saying that it's perfect but it's how we do things.
BTW: the bus driver and another passenger did "step in". They made sure everyone got off the bus and locked the guy in there. They also had the foresight to kill the engine so he couldn't drive away with the bus.
uhh god. i hate people who fake. people who feel the need to put on a fake accent and post vids on youtube. thats right, thats a FAKE ACCENT the girl youve all been lusting after is full scottish. she just puts the accent on cause she thinks it gets her views, YOUR NOT AS POPULAR AS YOU THINK. psh. fag
I don't blame you for being mad. If more people cared about what happens in this world then maybe some change can occur. But it's like you said no one wants to get involved. Excellent reporting keep up the good work.:-))
I think they legally have to refer to him as a suspect because his case hasn't been settled. The newspaper could probably get in trouble for not including that because it implies the trial has been held already. It's kind of stupid, but at the same time if the press is allowed to spin things in other, less clear-cut cases it could affect the public perception and make it difficult to obtain an impartial jury.
Oh, i wasn't aware of the weapon that was used? I'm glad you told me all this nicely though, and u didnt feel the need to call me names. thanks for clearing it up. =)
You've probably never seen or even read d transcripts of the debate that lead to its abolition in Canada (1976). Everyone is tempted to apply the law in this because cause the crime was extremely violent (and the lack of doubt). The truth is, when you bring that law back, its going to be filed by prosecutors in every single murder case out there, believe me, a lot of people are going to be executed on INCONCLUSIVE evidence.
C.P was abolished in Canada by HIGHLY intelligent people for REASONS.
I'm definitely not a close minded person. Just because I still have SOME faith in humanity, doesn't mean I am a close minded person. And it's not as if I didn't realise that there are worse out there.
I agree with that 'no suspicion' of the murderer. . but i can't agree with the capital punishment, it just shows that killing can be justifiable.
the passengers couldn't have done anything, the victim was stabbed in the neck and was pretty much fatally wounded . .the best that they could do was get out of danger and trap the murderer.
As a bit of time goes by, we'll know more details; I offer my opinions:
1)He was well into the killing before the nearest passenger turned around to see him. A narrow bus aisle with panicked passengers might have made heroism difficult and too late.
2)Often, the "presumption of innocence" prevents the cops from naming the crime.
3)Unfortunately for us Christians, e.g. me, the eye-4-an-eye thing went out with Matthew 5:38-39.
4)I think suicide prevention/watch should be waived for these cases!!
Yes, let's blame it all on AC/DC music and playing Grand Theft Auto. Anyway, this proves once and for all, that Canada is a more violent country than the good ole USA.
I totally agree with you. It's so sad that this kid was killed for no apparent reason. I feel like the death penalty should be brought back, but only used for extreme instances like this one.
I completely agree with all your viewpoints. I wish we would bring back the death penalty for this asshole. He shouldn't be allowed to live.... Anyway, good video.

amen
i completely agree with you
that showdown was a disgrace and pathetic
the passengers didnt do shit
they may not have saved him from being stabbed, but they could have saved him from being stabbed 60 times! and beheaded!!!
thanks for making this video
IheartCali123 3 years ago
When you say no one stood up and did anything you're wrong!
The blade being used on the victim was HUGE
after two stab wounds the victim was dead
They did the smartest thing you could do!
They got everyone else off the bus safely and 3 men held the door shut so the killer could not escape!
If this lunatic could have escaped there would of been ALOT more victims, so to say these people did nothing is RIDICULOUS
There was NO saving the victim
After 2 wounds that big there was no chance

Crazee108 3 years ago
It's all good
just wanted to clear that up so you know that the men who did hold the door were doing the right thing to save the lives they could
so this thing about everyone saying no one stood up to do anything is false, they did what they could and what was possible
the people who stopped him from getting out of the bus had kids of their own and were risking the life of their childrens father to save others
that is a hero
peace & harmony :)

And if you choose to use the U.S for a case study, you might want to ask about all those innocent people they've executed with INCONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE.
Canada is not NEO-CON country, nor Australia either, it is CA-NA-DA.
