It can be very cruel. Bow hunting large animals is disgusting. It takes a long time unless you are a sharpshooter and puts the animal through a ton of unnecessary pain when a slug could do the job quickly(and both forms of hunting give humans a huge advantage so don't say that's too easy). This wasn't cruel at all though. If every hunter shot like this, and finished the animal quick and clean, PETA wouldn't target hunters at all probably.

@virtuasoft Yes the wild ones surely have more of a "family" structure but still, once the poults grow up they aren't dependent on their parents (the hen in particular) and in most places it's only legal to kill a gobbler or bearded hen so the population isn't damaged. I would never kill one just for fun and let it go to waste, that would be wrong. Now when it comes to pest control, it's a different story. You can never kill too many rodents...
