@covenant2005 Amu movie production got threats from local goons during the shooting of the riots scenes and the movie faced problems with the censor board in India. 10 minute cut was suggested by the censors including removal of all the verbal references to the riots. The movie was released directly to DVD. It never hit the theatre so sorry no I don’t consider that movie a Bollywood film however I thank the team of Amu for their courage to make that movie.

It's been almost 30 years since THOUSANDS of Sikhs were killed in INDIA because of their "real identity".
It's been 10 years since 9/11, and their have been isolated incidents of Sikhs being hurt/killed in the US due to a "mistaken identity".
Bollywood thought it was more appropriate to make a movie about what happens outside of their home, rather than inside.

It is hard to say this because Sikhs were killed after 911 in America, but overall Sikhs have been left alone in America. @covenant2005 Amu movie production got threats from local goons during the shooting of the riots scenes and the movie faced problems with the censor board in India. 10 minute cut was suggested by the censors including removal of all the verbal references to the riots. The movie was released directly to DVD. It never hit the theatre so sorry no I don’t consider that movie a Bollywood film however I thank the team of Amu for their courage to make that movie.

We can learn from history but we need to move forward, India faced many incidence from invasions to Independence and so on, that doesn't mean we should hate each other forever just cause people who looked like us in those days done a crime for whatever reason or in whatever emotions.
