  • Have this for ps2 and agree it truly delivers an interesting quest with four uniquely useful and relatable characters - I especially appreciate the vulnerability of the robot, AMBER, I think. Returned first copy due to glitch which stopped game in the giant pipe obstacle at the end of level one. It would just freeze, second copy did the same and I used level code. Mall in my area has a new copies and I will gladly purchase and distribute a couple in exchange for the pledge of future payment.

  • One of the few games I know of where the godmode cheat actually makes the game harder to play.

  • Played it all the way through in coop with my brother, excellent game. Long story, lots of gadgets and well-crafted puzzles. The descent into deeper and deeper levels of the city, the progession of ruination... man, with all the focus on co-op games recently I reckon there's a market for a remake.

  • I played demo on PC, but was always crashing, and that was the reason why i didn't bother to buy it for PC. Later i saw this game for PS2 and i take it and is a good game. I still have it.

  • its got lasers and robots.. i want it.

  • This "gem" looks like shit.

And before you ask, I started playing vidya on the arcades and C64 in the 1980s.

  • @punipunipunisher yeah it got a bit of that terrible "yay we got 3d acceleration! lets abuse the colored lights" look that most late 90's game had

  • my aunt bought be this game when i was little i got so lost in the begining that i didnt want to play it at all lol

  • Ok, this one looks cool. Definately one I'm keeping an eye open for. The movement itself looks kind of fun. I always liked games that allowed you to get around. I never cried over not being able to jump though. I'll keep watching ur vides for more ideas of games I should get.

  • Brute Force is better than this.

  • LMAO DOOD IT"S BEEFED UP ROBO COP!!!:D

  • I absolutely love this game and still own a copy of it.

  • hOW COME ALL THE BYSTANDES IN THIS GAME ARE OBESE ?

  • also- if you are using cheats, you suck... and are not really gaming.

  • awesome... and completely underrated game. i loved the shit out of Project Eden.

if anyone can't figure it out... spend more time with it, it's worth your time.

  • 4 heads think better than 1. loved the multiplayer on this

  • LOL. All the Tomb Raider games were old and my family were probably all too young to play them. We sucked at them! XD Those games atmosphere felt pretty strange... My feelings are kind of mixed for them. I still wish we got further into those games though anyway... I don't even know what the last boss for any of them are. 0_o

  • So scientists are puzzled fixing a computer, but jocks with robot suits can fix it? :D perfect!!!!!

  • THIS game was the meaning of difficult for me when i was a kid. at the age of 10 i got past the first two levels and used cheats to get past the rest. LOVED level. Eden when you went outside and got chased by a spider thingy,

  • Didn't anyone feel creeped out or scared when you are in thoes dark rusty areas with odd noises?

  • This game is quite a bit easier on the PC... at least for the combat portions. It's harder to aim and move precisely with the PS2 controller for some reason.

Also, after the first time I played through I started to appreciate some of the combos you can set up with the different weapons. First time I played it took me soooo long to take down the final monster... but now I can get him down first try, by equipping the team properly.

  • This is one of my all-time favorite games... it's got a great story, it's horrifying and sad at the same time. Kind of a scifi Silent Hill.

Also, maybe it's just me but the team mechanics seem to encourage a definite roleplaying aspect... I always play Amber as the mother to the drones... Andre at odds with Minoko... Carter the brave leader who will go solo when needed.

If I could pick any game for a sequel it would be this one... I'd really like to play through more adventures with them.

  • their arms tilt too much while running

  • I really, really dislike this game. How the hell do you deploy the rover?

  • @ponbop Are you nuts? Dislike this game because you can't read and understand English? WHEN you take the rower from the lift, go to the MENU (mentioned in the game too), you should see now the rower positioned on the right. CLICK on it and it'll deploy.

  • @JohnyFront Whoops, I need to read through things more carefully, I still dislike this game because of the annoying characters and really strange controls. There was no need to act all angry though. I messed up sure but tat's no reason to get pissed off

  • This game is not a underrated gem

    Its fucking shit!

  • @werschdel yes, mostly like your own existence

  • @robertlagogi agreed!

  • @werschdel Because you're so retarded that you can't finish the game?

  • @JohnyFront

no because I fucked your mother, while you were playing:)

  • @werschdel Hmm... he's really retarded I say.

  • this is probably one of the best games I've ever played. Unfortunately, I could never finish it because the 2 copies I ended up owning were glitchy and would freeze at the same spot every time. Anyone else have this problem?

  • @spscotto my copy didn't freeze when i bought this in 2003 i had to use cheats to beat it the game's super frustrating with hard puzzles no wonder toys r us was selling it for $4.99

  • @Yourizan haha maybe if i used codes, I could've gotten past that freezing bit. i should give it a shot

  • Such a clever game, I stopped playing it because I can't stand the thought of beating it & never being able to play a game as great as this again.

  • Damn it, why did I sell this game :(? I was stuck at one point and I couldn't figure it out and sold it. I've been wanting to give this game a chance.*sigh* ;(

  • Anyone who wants to play Project Eden on multiplayer (PC) please send me a personal message here on YT.Unfortunately nobody plays this game anymore (online) but maybe we could collect some players and play together

  • I love this game, i played it with my cousin. I was Minoko eeeevery time. ;D

  • If this guy says "fallah me" one more time, I'm gonna scream.

    Great game, though!

  • @MichaelJacksonFan87 Sorry, but they weren't "follahin mah"

  • @MichaelJacksonFan87 you bet it is!

  • I remember playing this game multiplayer when I was younger, was amazing

  • So......whats going on?

  • Oh man I loved this game. Very very hard puzzles, this game makes Portal look easy as hell.

  • ah project eden, after watching snowblind I felt like looking up another PS2 cyberpunk gem.

  • man i loved this game, some hospital level scared me so much cause some dogs or something kept spawning over and over while you gotta solve some puzzle, thats how i remember it anyway

  • this game was defo 1 of the best on the old ps... hope they do a new version of it....4 player coop , differnt character qulitiys, puzzles this game is so underated....

  • This game scared the shit out of me more than any of these modern "horror games". If it weren't for that I might have even finished this. I thought I got pretty far in this, but then I got stumped and after I met a bunch of mutant freaks in a dark room I was too freaked out to continue further on my own so I looked for some cheats. Skipped some levels and I was far away from the end. They sure don't make games like this anymore, thats for sure!

  • I owned this game.. No idea why i sold it frigging classic! i wanna play it now :(

  • the levels take forever... and i hated the third level so i sold the game

  • i had this game once is was fun but to hard so i sold it!

  • @franzetown It's definitely one that is heavy on the puzzles, and is easy to get stumped in.

  • @franzetown game is pretty common nowadays

  • I love this game, but when I owned it for the PS2, I never found a working copy. At some point, every copy of the game I found would freeze. Very frustrating when you wanna see the end of a game you really enjoy playing!

  • that was such a blast! I played the game in co op mode back in the days! Its a true Gem!

  • @BigBigBonze Co op is amazing when 4 people are playing :D!!!

  • @WhatWhatAli i've played it with a friend but still it was so much fun! I wish they would make a new one!

  • got this for 99p the game looks pretty cool game.

  • Very good game.

  • Falla me! xD

  • this game looks interesting : )

  • The controls suck, and there is no doubt that this is a very challenging game. I like it though.

  • looks cool, but the graphics look like PSone

  • this has to be one of my all time favorite games. i got all the way to the 10th level and never got to beat the game due to unfortunate events. i wish this game would be remade... meaning... just having the EXACT same game... exactly the same... just polished up in the graphics area (and maybe add an online multiplayer option). or heck, i'd download this as is if it were on the PlayStation store if it were on there.

  • this game is awesome i used to play this its kind of screwed up i played it when i was like 12 and now im 15 and i cant get past a puzzle i beat it when i was 12 and now im stumped really fun game though

  • i got this game mine is for pc i do not no what to do after killing the three gang members i went to the upa lift but nothing happened i took the flash stuff right beside the dead gang member using carter i went to the upa lift again but nothing happened

  • @t0038617g It's been a while since I played, so I'm not quite sure where you're at. Try looking on Gamefaqs. That site would be a lot more helpful to you than I would.

  • Awesome game. Loved the 'gay' robot! 'I need some assistance'.

  • I want a sequel! This would do well on the Xbox360. It would be better on the Wii, but since this is better with multiplayer the Xbox360 would be great for it. This could also use a Wii port for local play since the Wii's online is little bit harder to deal with. ^^;

  • a very good puzzle solving game!

  • it was a very hard game this was, but it was brilliant!

  • I hated that game... its just me i know...

  • One of the best co-op games you can play; it blends decent combat and fun challenging puzzling so well that when you're in the game you just can't stop playing. A memorable piece from the beginning to the very end.

Too bad we're never going to see a sequel - personally I believe that games like this is what the gaming market desperately needs.

  • dude i can help me out because i'm stuck on that game

  • The best advice is to carefully look around and try to make sense of what you're trying to do. Trust me I tell you this because if you don't train you'll be looking up a walkthrough the rest of the way.

  • Yep, make sure you check everything. Tomb Raider trained me on what to look for. Sometimes you'll get stuck looking at something that does absolutely nothing, but other times you'll find the answers in unexpected places.

After years of TR, and playing through games like this, I've yet to find a modern game that can stump me with their puzzle elements which are mostly watered down for today's whiny gamers. "OMG puzzles. Eck!"

  • I know. I don't like the way newer gamers think nowadays.

  • @teh2Dgamer I hate to say it, but I'm a bit like that sometimes. However, I know, deep down, I like puzzles. Wouldn't have bought the newest Prince of Persia if I didn't

  • I'm always amazed at the cinematic quality of the cutscenes in this game.

  • i seriously dunno why but when i bought this game 2 years ago, i played it for 5 mins and then i stopped completely because it gave me a giant nightmare

  • i loved this game, because i am really into problem solving thinky stuff!

this game was pretty hard, especially becuase the graphics can make it hard to tell whats real and whats wallpaper.

oh the lighting makes it hard to see.

  • Very good work here. I played the ports of both P.E. and Oni on the PC and loved them.

  • Fantastic game. IIRC Oni was another underrated PS2 (near-)launch game.

Also scarier than Resi in places... first four levels are fine, then the difficulty level soars... with style. Level 5 (Hospital Ruins) is a real piece of work - you go in, lights go out, and you immediately get the fright of your life when an awful lot of awful things start to go bump in the night in an *exceedingly* gory and vindictive way. Fun :)

  • Man I was young when I had this game. I gave up on it along with Hybrid Haven. I never saw a game my Older brother could not beat until Project Eden!

  • Not at all.

  • this game was made in 2001, not like fallout made in 2008

  • Strange little game i picked up for 5 euro.I love it very much tough!

  • it's a really great game to play. interesting puzzles, great gameplay & great storyline... just 1 thing is missing... no one is playing multiplayer... which actulally tone the game down a little bit...

  • amazing game i always thought this was so underrated. Reviewers didnt rate it to kindly and ppl who played it seemed to bash it. I loved it however

  • I believe that Gamepro gave it a good review. A 4.0 out of 5.0, but a lot of other sources didn't.

  • I love playing MultiPlayer in this game :D

  • THIS is a game i can play over and over and still have fun! (and sstill get confused!) my favorite charachter is amber, and i usually send her in first (there might be a dangerous chemical or electricity or something ahead- dont want everyone dying!)

  • I own this game but never really had the patience to finish it. Everything about it was FANTASTIC, from the atmosphere to the story. The only thing bad about it is that the puzzles can take up to 5 hours to figure out, and it's not just because I'm dumb. The game has a bad habit of hiding switches around maps in the most ridiculous and contrived places. Like the construction site for example. I have to activate 10 swtiches just so I can ride a girder to get a keycard? It's silly.

  • Now this looks like the kind of game that I like.

  • hey, cold you play shell shock nam'97(I don't have sure if is 97)?

  • it's '67

  • this is an old game numb nuts

  • I was just being ignorant for the sake of it.

  • Project eden looks like a good PSone game with poor PS2 grapchics...

  • the graphics are GREAT, its that is being recorded AND put to youtube- dims it down a little

  • It's definitely got some very challenging puzzle elements to it.

It's a hard game to come back to after a long break if you don't remember what you're doing in it.

  • The game certainly seems very unique!

  • Hmm, looks very interesting. It looks unique in its style. The gadgets remind me of Perfect Dark and the squad thing sort of reminds me of Lost Vikings... I may have to check it out one day. About how long is the game though? More or less than 10 hours?

  • The game will definitely last you a while unless you use a strategy guide to get through it. I'm not entirely sure of the length. Probably more than 10 hours.

It more depends on your puzzle solving skills. Sometimes you'll get stumped for a while.

Sometimes it may call for a walkthrough at certain points.

  • I got pretty lost on Ico at some points, but I loved that game. Overall, puzzle/exploration games are pretty awesome in my opinion.

  • I even like the puzzle elements of the original Tomb Raider series. A lot of people complain about such things, but if you go into such games with an open mind, you may actually end up enjoying yourself.

I think that's the biggest problem with gamers of today. They don't have an open mind. They expect every game to be a certain way, and hate anything that's different.

  • Definitely, I enjoy a game where not everything is about instant gratification and violence. I'm a fan of the obscure, things that try something different. I'm not a big fan of tough gritty games like Call of Duty and God of War, but I can appreciate the style and sometimes humor in the overlooked games like Sillhouette Mirage or weird games like Chulip. Even if they're creepy, strange or different, it gives you an experience that will take you away from the humdrum games you see every day.

  • woah this game was so easy i passed

  • such a good game, but really REALLY hard. you could just be wandering along and a rat could morph into a giant freakish mutant at any second.

  • It is very tough, but sometimes you just want a game that makes you think more than shoot.

I really enjoyed this game, but most of the mainstream gamers out there will take one look at it and hate it because they don't understand what it's trying to be.

They think every game should fall into the box, and play the same, and they hate anything that's different.

I, on the other hand, crave different, and this game delivers definitely delivers different.

  • looks like ass unless youre a puzzle mna

  • Sometimes it's a nice change of pace to go at a puzzle heavy game over an action heavy one. Of course it can also be a little frustrating if you don't know what to do.

  • Ah. Grew up with this one. Absolutely one of the best for the PS2.

  • definitely underrated but not a gem

  • I really enjoyed it, but it's definitely not for everyone.

  • I had a demo on PC, and it's sooo cool. I couldn't get the whole game, though...

  • looks cool ill check it out

  • i remember i used to play this with my friend, the co op was soooo much fun and it felt awsome when you solved one of the really hard puzzlse

  • Hey, I remember this game from PC! It was so awesome! One of the best I've ever played!

  • That game looks terrible. :|

  • I say in the description it's not for everyone.

It's not meant to be an action game. It stresses puzzles over action.
