You can keep your piercing and get a job! Use a retainer. They are usually pink or clear and made of plastic. Good luck!

I got my tongue pierced 10 years ago and let it grow in... today i had it pierced again in the same spot... . the girl that pierced it said it would hurt pretty bad because there was some scar tissue, but it was totally painless... and i love it..

@meecy12 A belly button is the worst piercing you can get when it comes to pain but a tongue piercing doesn't hurt maybe like a pinch but its the least painless piercing you can get.

i got mine done 2 days ago. Surprised how much it didnt hurt and how well I can still talk YAY!. Back on my solids too haha... amazing how much you miss your food, ash and ice cream.... not the healthiest diet! xx

i have been to two different piercers and both said i have veins in the middle of my tongue and cant have it done .. but i am still insisting that i will get it done next week :) found someone who would do it for me lol :D

the two i went to in the UK said if they did it they wouldn't be able to sleep at night wondering if i was sent to the ER (what ever that meant) :S

one of them said i would do it for you at an angle but it will not heal properly :(

i got mine done for 9 days now and it didnt hurt a tall but for a few days all i could eat was soup and it was sore to eat for the first few days but now i can eat fine dosent hurt and the girl in the video is right i have chewed my bar a few times but u get used to it and i have 2 wait another 2 weeks to change it and my piercer said to change to a 16mm bar

If the piercer is good they will check with a light but just look in the mirror, lift your tongue up and your viens should be visable on either side of your tongue, if its in the middle (unlikely) you cant have it done x

It's not 100% neccessary but it can cause a fungal infection.

1. Yes

2. It should be fine, I'm no doctor but they pierce using steel, titanium some sort of unreactive metal and I do not know of anyone having a reaction. If you had that type of metal in your ears I don't think you'd have a reaction there either.

3. You're only 14 so think hard about it, but the good thing about piercings is, you can remove them when you want, whereas tattoos are forever!

I've always been fine! Most people are and the oly way you'll be able to find out if you'll have one or not is to get it done. You can usually just get used to it and carry on talking normally after a few weeks :)
