  • Wait, never mind. The girl said, "Dad" to AB.

  • Is the "granddaughter" AB's daughter?

  • Alton was " losing face" at the end

  • Alton is so awesome. He demonstrates, informs, and entertains all at the same time. The only diffculty Good Eats poses is whether I am more excited watching the show, wanting to try the meals, or showing off the newly learned information. Brilliant.

  • just a correction of the description, this was season 13, episode TEN.

    just a heads up

  • @arequipa well he did a show all about diets because he went on one and lost a lot of weight. He was watching the show and realized how heavy he had gotten. So i dont think he is sick or anything.

  • is that is daughter?!

  • Alton FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • I like how he measures the spices down to individual pieces like "4 pepper corns" instead of the usual "oh throw in this small bowl of "spice" in". Makes the watcher actually able to recreate the recipe to the T!

  • I think this is his funniest episode yet.

    Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

  • Grandpa Alton ftw. <3

  • is that his real daughter? she's grown!

  • @906087 you were just watchin the honey show weren't you XD lol

  • Jacques Cousteau also said that 90 percent of the humans on this planet need to be exterminated.

  • alton looks cool with gray hair, maybe he should think of keeping it like that.

  • I have always believed in home raised or country made products.

Why , America has one of the most stringent and strictest food safety compared to CHINA , JAPAN or INDIA.

  • I find i funny how they have beer in the future but they don't have pumpernickel bread xD

  • actually I've taken a liking lately for shrimp when I go out.

  • I just realized something regarding his weight loss: His new haircut sucks. He lost weight and buzzed his hair. The two together makes it seem like he got cancer or something.

  • @PraiseDivineMercy he actually lost wieght by not eating white food that i heard on the radio...

  • That box was used for holding artillery shells, probable from Vietnam.

  • He doesn't mention one of the best parts of these kinds of fish; they are very inexpensive!! I picked up tilapia fillet from Wal Mart for $2.00 USD a pound the other day.

  • I do my part for fish conservation. The only time I buy Tuna or Salmon is if I'm making sushi rolls. Around here it's usually Trout, Mackeral or Flounder. My roommate makes these awesome fish burritos with flounder.

  • i think it's good that he wants to have americans support american raised or made products. what's so wrong with supporting domestic products considering that we have more strict product control rules than other foreign agencies?

  • It is not that things are american that makes them good. I support whoever does something best. Take a look at this: watch?v=4EUAMe2ixCI

  • @dancinbluegirl plus, it helps our economy! And gives people more jobs to do.

  • @dancinbluegirl im with you! Buy AMERICAN. and that does not mean Wal-mart. Wal-mart is not AMERCAN! GET IT ? GOT ? GOOD! have a good life

  • Commie

  • Season 4 -- 01: Where Theres Smoke, Theres Fish: Smoked salmon: 11 April 2001 Season 6 -- 01: The Other Red Meat: Tuna: 19 June 2002 Season 12 -- 03: Pantry Raid VII: Tuna, Surprise!: Canned and pouched tuna: 7 July 2008 -- 15: Gills Gone Wild: Wild salmon: 2 March 2009 Notice the food topic shift. Season 13 -- 10: The Once and Future Fish: Farm Raised Trout, Sustainability: 2 November 2009 -- Large fish: salmon, swordfish, tuna
  • What it's the future and no references to Soylent Green in the episode?

  • Alton needs to eat something. As for his child. So cute. So lady Gaga of them.

  • Alton Brown is very creative and inventive, both with food and video presentation, plus he is just down right smart! He also has a pleasant and cordial personality. That combined at 350 degrees makes Good Eats!

  • What happened to the terra cotta pots he used in S7E2? I liked that smoker better than the army surplus wooden box.

  • I honestly think he does it to mix things up and show people different methods. Also those fish didn't need as much cooking as the pork sot he whole heat insulation issue probably wasnt that big of a deal.

  • 6:20 "...instead of bananas in a banana split"

an Iron Chef America reference to the infamous trout ice cream, methinks :)

  • Grandpa!

    Hmm huh wha..? Hello!

I was eating noodles in spicy broth while hearing that and it was so funny that i was afraid the broth would go up my nose. it didnt, thankfully

  • GREAT episode. Solid mixture of 3 recipes and techniques. AND he built another smoker.

  • I wish you wouldn't take your face off at the table dad!

  • alton looks very thin i hope he's OK

  • Never trust a skinny chef.

  • He's very ok, he went on a diet, and took up running. I read somewhere he runs like 4 miles everyday.

  • @arequipa1

See S13 E13: Live and Let Diet. I think that should help explain a few things...

  • @arequipa1 This is after his diet episode. He lost a lot of weight/

  • Comment removed

  • @arequipa1 Check out Episode 13 of this same season (13). Its all about how he lost weight dieting.

  • HAha, I found this episode delightful. and you can tell that Alton's daughter really enjoys hearing her dad talk. haha, How nice, I can see "Future Eats" with (whatever her name is)

But yeah, fantastic show, and to top it off, I grew up eating Escabeche (yes that's how you spelled) (and am mexican, its a common dish here in mexico) although we ate it with a native fish rather than trout, and of course, the Escabeche tecnique is also good on Beef, Chicken, and my personal favorite: DEER!

  • Torrented this the other day and this was a pretty good show.
