well Liviu is romanian and Michael Rabin was from romanian descent so no wonder they are both great (btw in case you don't know romanian violonist are among the best in the world )

Very powerful bowing & a deep, rich tone from this wonderful violinist who, in my opinion, out classes Joshua Bell who prefers to play in black pajamas while making funny faces with arrogance. Wieniawski was a true romantic & Prunaru plays this concerto with true romanticism. Every note is clear, precise, distinct. From 5:30 on comes the hard part. Michael Rabin still owns this piece, but I'm very impressed with how Prunaru also plays it. Bravo!

totally agree, i just stumbled across this song by chance and I'm disappointed that it's rarely performed by major solo artists, at least where I live in. I think I'm able to hear the Rach 3 piano concerto at least once a year, but even that is hard to come by. Rach 2 is more popular.

yes but I like more Boris Goldstein 2nd and 3rd V. Pikaisen about 1st movement. Rabin play good but in his playing not more color and quality.

what did you say about Rabin? not more colour? this recording of rabin is actually the Best recording ever, and i wish every Violinist to play only the quarter good this piece as rabin did. Rabin was the King.But Prunaru is very good, but we cant compare to rabin.Lets be serios please.

Sorry but You not understand my word's , try to understand correct. I am not compare Mr. Rabin with Mr. Prunaru I said I like mroe Pikaisen's playing. Mr. Rabin play to fast but very good. Well, I suggest you search *Victor Pikaisen Wieniawski* and listen his playing

no, everybody have some mistakes but each person play like him. Mr. Liviu too, hi play this concerto in his style, Mr. Rabin play in his style and Mr. Pikaisen play in his style. I suggest you listen Mr. Pisakisen's palying

Liviu esti un mare tehnician si interpret al viorii. Te felicit din suflet si incerc sa-mi fac timp cat ma mult ca sa-ti pot asculta si vedea toate postarile. In special tehnica arcusului pe care o detii te aseaza langa cei mai mari violonisti din istorie. BRAVO!

i would highly recommend monty bloom's video of this piece. yes, the wolf in the background may be distracting, but the wolf clearly is an indication of charles castleman's studio, who has created many badasses.

don't get me wrong, this performance is stunning, but monty's is of an era that many string players has forgotten about...the golden age of violinists.
