Oh, I guess there is more than one way to skin a banjo pot! Does your way have any advantage over the way I learned in which the skin goes on the pot, then the tone ring, then the edge is folded to the FRONT and the tension ring is put around the edge? This waym it is easy to trim the edge level to the head and the edge disappears between the tension ring and the pot when the tension ring is tightened down.

Hi there, very interesting. I have a tenor banjo with a skin head that is getting quite dirty. Is this something that can be cleaned or is it better to just leave it alone ? Thanks a lot.
