I often see guitar microphones (for live aplications) that are not bolted onto the guitar (I usually see people tape them to the guitar near the sound hole), do you guys happen to know any good ones?
@vver We do not recommend taping anything to the guitar. LR Baggs makes excellent acoustic pickup products and they hav enew pickups that have internal microphones and under-saddle blends that do a great job for live applications. I prefer a good quality mic in front of an acoustic though. Hope that helps!
@vver you guys should look at DTAR. I currently have one set up with my Taylor. I heard a lot of good things about the DTAR but I never did a side by side comparison so I can't be sure if it's BETTER than other brands.
@ThisIsntLukeKim DTAR ain't bad, in general, but in our comparisons, just had better overall luck in detail and accuracy with the Baggs. Thanks for posting, and please let us know if we can help you with your next acoustic beauty!!
@mitscan We apprecaite it... Ryan Cavanaugh was definitely ripping on this one! If we can ever help you with your next serious guitar upgrade, we would really love to assist!
I picked up a used H13 (rosewood upgrade) last year and the first thing out of my guitar tech's mouth was "nice bluesy sound!" Can't see why anyone wouldn't appreciate your playing in this video. This is a fine example of what this guitar does best, and you do a great job showing it off. While I wouldn't say that all styles work perfectly on the H13, I would still recommend it to almost anyone. Cheers!
@jimincal Thanks for the kind words. many people love leaving negative comments. We're here to demonstrate boutique gear and talk to people about finding what is ideal for them. Thanks for checking out this video and let us know if you have any questions. take care!
@12Radius You should! we consider trades all the time. Or sell your two guitars and ask us about lead times on the H13 model from Santa Cruz. We have an H13 signature Otis Taylor guitar in stock if you are looking for something quicker than waiting for a new one to be built, but the possibilities with these boutique acoustics are endless! hit us up
I consider that there are trillions of better and complex songs to demonstrate that so expensive and special guitar. 3:56 min of frustration waiting to hear something better... but it didn't happen! Now i'm waiting for a better review of that guitar...
@alvaritooooooooo We're sorry that this video didn't meet your needs. The purpose was really to display the tonal capabilities of this instrument, rather than display technical prowess of a player. If you have any questions about the guitar, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!
@PooPooOnMyNewShoe As always,. thanks for the support- we are doing the best that we can, and appreciate guys like you giving us this kind of support. Please, as always, let us know if we can ever help you in any way- we are here to help!
@soundpurestudios You guys are doing a great job of reviewing products for us all. I've been informed and entertained by your posts. Thanks and keep up the great work.:)
@mitscan That's right, he can do it all on an acoustic! It's a great guitar, very playable, as you can see. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Interesting way to do a review. Usually, you hear too little of the guitar, and you get tons of specs. I'd like to see a little more balance between the two (i.e., words vs music). I have had an H13 for a couple of years, and not much unfavorable to say about it. The worst I'd say is that it is a bit harder to play than other Santa Cruz guitars I've played.
I will say this: although I rarely play around in open tunings, this guitar sounds AMAZING that way.
@combatcommand we decided to include specs during the playing (at end), the contents are fairly standard, and there's nothing specific or unusual that someone might need to know about the instrument... all that being said, most people want to hear the guitar played, because ultimately, the sound of the instrument is the most important thing to them. The photos are the second most important thing to people so we incl high res photos. Since talking disrupts the playing we chose to leave it out.
@combatcommand Honestly, we are trying to make these the best that they can possibly be so will take your recommendation seriously. Most people have asked to lose the talking, and focus on the playing, along with some great photos, so that's exactly what we have tried to do. What would you prefer us do? Were you looking for some kind of information specifically? We are here for you, and glad to be able to help make your guitar selection easy with many great boutique builders represented.
@soundpurestudios Less talk, more musik - unlike combatcommand I dig that. Don't change a thing but the video title: Santa Cruz H13 Acoustic Guitar demonstration!
Thanks for the comment. Please do consider us for your next high end guitar purchase! This gorgeous H13 is actually available for sale in our high end guitar boutique. Enjoy yours- Santa Cruz is creating some truly magical instruments.
