I'd suggest dropping the cgi stuff and working in more voiceovers with the face superimposed. Bush as Senator Palpatine and Obama as the Emperor has a certain je ne sais quoi to it. Also, I had envisioned a scene with R2 playing the hologram of Leia saying "save us obi-ron..." would make my month if you did that up... :D
