to be honest i would freak the hell out as well being 16 i watch the weather channel from march to mid october and storm chasing has become a big interest since i saw twister over one hundred but when a monster ef5 or even f3 tornado is chasing me like dog with rabies i probably will freak out i hope when graduate from collage will face my first twister in person.
I know you're panicing a little Because a massive EF4 Tornado is coming at you quickly, But If you could control your fear a little, You would notice That Joel Taylor, Is indeed, Backing up. You don't have to scream at him. :)
Sincerely, A big Fan, but not of the screaming.
Even though you're hilarious when you're freaking out.
@dominodot321 You sure do act differently when you're flowing with adrenalin. In a way that you never that you would act. Trust me, I know from experience. And specifically a Tornado experience, its scary and surreal.
@TornadoGirl1125 In the politest way possible, I know it isn't Joel. You don't need to use that tone of voice, honey. But, to me and many others, The TVN team just isn't the same Without all three Joel, Reed and Chris.
First, I Love My Back Up Shirt, I Love the Words "BACK UP" I Love it, when Reed Said BACK UP, I Love the TVN Team, I Love Storm Chasing... (: Really The Best!
This is one of the most excellent and incredible clips of footage in history of a tornado ripping up and picking up a house in great detail! You have spectacular footage, Reed! You are a much braver man than I am, I wouldn't get more than about half a mile within a tornado. I chased one on the plains of Alberta, Canada, northeast of Edmonton and came within about half a mile of it, nothing like this interception!
EVERYONE PLEASE HELP!!!! go to kandee johnsons ( kandeejohnson ) channel she is trying to save a womans life! we are trying to spread this though youtube!!!
This is not spam! She only has 3 weeks to live! Watch the video and you will understand I promise!!! LIKE THIS COMMENT!! PLEASE HELP!!!
hi, plz PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ, go check out kandee Johnson latest video, its to help a woman who was 3 weeks to live, plz take a few minutes of your life to go see! copy and paste this in five more vids, plz every comment and view counts!
Do you need a degree to chase with these guys ? From watching the Discovery Storm Chasers program, I feel like Reed and I would be brothers. I have that same desire and push as he does, but couldnt afford to leave my day job to just go chase. Plan on signing up for a chase next year with them though. Should be a blast !
the 4 people who didnt like this hopefully was in that house. Nature is beautiful. this is why these guys do this. also to protect proplr from getting hurt.
New season of the show is an edge of yur seat, nail chewin, breathtaking adventure for sure! Born in the pandhandle of TX, I've been very close to one of these monsters. It is scary and I'll admit...exciting. I've never had to experience the loss of a loved one by a beast like this, but I've known others who have. My respect and prayers go out to the family and friends who are touched by the powerful and destructive finger of fury. Keep up the good work in the science of this thing guys!
This appears to be an edited, albeit higher quality, of another video here on YouTube. When the guy screams " I hope they're okay!", he is referring to a red vehicle near the structure that was encompassed by the storm. The title of the video did not speak kindly of those involved if I recall, so it stands out.
@Starry2000 Here's the original clip we uploade (enter it after the v= on the address line) : x4MCu8Cv7WI - we have another shorter version on our channel as well, plus the DVD trailer. And "please be okay" was about the occupants of the house, not the vehicle. There were people inside who made it to safety but one man refused to leave and unfortunately was injured as a result.
@2012Ascenscion I believe the uncut version of this, which has been on YT for a while, remains. The title of the video... did not speak well of the chasers so it should stick out like a sore thumb amongst the tornado vids.
@lgarvey well when you're in farm country you have to deal with some of the circumstances of your location. If you haven't noticed, much of tornado alley runs right through the farm states. So its inevitable.
@lgarvey thats not totally going to save your house and your house would look ugly and you still would have damage from windows when they get blown out.
yeah , building houses with fucking WOOD source in places where TORNADOEs are normal thing its so fuckin STUPID , so fucking dumbass , Build ur house with bricks etc. After tornado everyone crying ' i loose everything" - Damn ppl without imagination. This is only WOOD for god sake , Tornado can throwing cars, trucks, trees etc so what tornado can do with house made of wood? oO.
Speaking of which, I saw on the Enhanced Fujita Scale an F6-F12 Designation I swear i'm not making this up you can pm me for the link of the scale. Basically the description said that it would only be noticeable by the swirl pattern because engineering equipment may not ever be able to pick it up. Do I even want to know what a freakin F12 twister would look like if it ever happened?
@Nxtl68 You were lied to. For there to be an f12 tornado the wind speed would have to surpass the speed of sound. Only time wind supersedes speed of sound is in an explosion, not in a tornado.
The original scale created by the late Ted Fujita was based purely on culculate guesses of what wind speeds would cause certain degrees of damage and the scale was originally design from F0 - F12, with the estimated wind speeds for an F12 being at Mach 1.
The latter 1/2 of the scale was too unlikely to be of any use and so, F0 - F6 was used with F6 being laballed as an "Inconcievable Tornado" that would only be recognised by ground swirl patterns, (Caused by suction vorticies).
@WillieDines1 Thank you for explaining that I must of been looking at the older scale. I doubt there would ever be a need for F12 that would be a biblical-proportioned event.
@Nxtl68 Anytime man, I have learned alot of things about tornadoes over the years and so it's good to pass on something I've learned to help others in some way.
The scale used now is the "Enhanced Fujita" scale, which is an updated and more detailed version created by various meterologists, scientists and veteran storm chasers and it was designed to get more accurate estimates of a tornado's intensity and to help construction companies build better houses, to help save more lives.
Check out the video footage of the mile wide F5 tornado from May 3, '99 that tore up Moore, OK and killed 40+ people and you'll see what an F5 generally looks like.
Remember though, a tornado's size doesn't always necessarily indicate how strong it is, but about 99% of the time, a massive wedge tornado is a multiple vortex tornado and they are most often the real killer tornadoes.
For the record, the EF5 tornado that destroyed Greensburg, KS was 1.7 miles wide.
This tornado footage is probably the most popular one in the US. I bet you guys made a small fortune off of it, which would explain your ability to fund the Dominator. :D

If I lived there my house would be made of steel and botled to an enormous concrete base.
