  • is it okay to cry, cause im in tears cause of this intro, haha, i grew up a mj fan!, thank you mj!

  • man... I cried a lot remembering those days! We when used to sit down in front of tv, we knew something magical an unique was about to happen, because Michael Jordan was playing. Today, we don't have such a feeling like that!

    Thanks for posting it!

  • haha its like chuck norris " he doesnt have to guard you, but you have to guard him" mj>chuck norris (basketball)

  • goosebumps everytime i watch this

  • "he doesnt have to guard you, but you have to guard them" goosebumps frigg bring back nbc

  • Those were the days...I loved NBA on NBC! Huge mistake for NBC not to still be locked into showing games! It wasnt over the top like half the broadcasts are now..using slang in every other word! I hate hearing a Stuart Scott highlight.....it ruins the sports I like. Dont even get me into all these former NBA players that are now analysts! You would think they would have a actual opinion instead of being political with every answer and they would know how to speak proper english!

  • LBJ should take notes because he will be quizzed on all of this on Sunday... I highly doubt he passes

  • MJ The best!!!!

  • todays nba finals intro sucks. bring back NBC.

  • Heck i'd want to play 52 of 53 minutes and get to take the shot every time if i was that good

  • I like dat song dat is played while Bob Costas is talkin' in da intro. I want it.

  • Jordan will always be the best, always!

  • JORDAN, THEN KOBE, THEN DURANT!

  • @raider8sox Nah its gonna be rose that will follows Kobe

  • A Bob Costas intro followed by the epic NBA on NBC theme! Wow!!! Gives me chills EVERY time!

  • that intro an nbc theme music is classic, that is when basketball was at its best! it was nothin like watchin those games an on sundays doube an triple headers all day on nbc,ill never forget those days!

  • Michael Jordan The Legend of All Times

  • @nitropr I am a Rockets fan but I must agree. My three Favorite NBA Stars of all time were Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. All three would do anything it Took to Win.

  • wish nba tv would show these games

  • people love watching the NFL and nascar but I've never gotten the excitement and passion from those that I have from these intro's....90's nba and BULLS impossible to beat!!

  • I got this theme song on my ipod its so great lol

  • I play basketball everyday at various parks in my city and no one screams ''KOBE''. People still say ''Jordan'' on a daily basis. Many factors come into play as to why Kobe isn't as respected as Jordan. The main reason being that Kobe was accused of raping a girl. People still remember the drama that came from that. Plus while Kobe may be a great player, he never innovated the sport like how Jordan did. Kobe basically emulated Jordan's style. There is no Kobe style.

  • God I hated Jordan back then. Respect him now but they hyped him waaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Just like LeBron right now.

  • Intros like this were great back in the day when there were real rivalries in the NBA. I don't feel that same type atmosphere. When the playoffs were going on back then, Everything shut down. It was like we were getting ready to watch an Ali fight. Those were great times!!!!

  • @chessman60619 so true man,so true!! Back then nba basketball was only about WINNING.....nothing else. Rivalries were bitter, filled with hatred(aka pacers, knicks). Regular season games were played with intensity because the players had some pride in themselves and their teams. When the finals started, life and time stood still....nothing mattered except that series, and those moments are forever burned into my head as memories i will never forget. Thanks MJ!

  • NBC>ABC by 1,000 miles

  • this is so awesome

  • This video became awesome at the 1:21 mark.

  • What an outstanding intro. Why aren't they like that anymore?

  • Beautiful! Timeless!

  • Great intro.

  • what an intro, the best ever!!!

  • Bob Costas sure knows how to hype up an NBA match...NBA on NBC can never be duplicated, I don't care if its ABC, ESPN, TNT or NBA TV. Never again will you have suspense and anticipation for NBA games like most of us did back in these days!

  • Heyyo, you want Magic, Jordan and Bird on Showtime NBA on NBC The Game? then pick them up on CHAMPTV. I have their stats that me and my cousin(dahitman23)made in the description section on my channel. Please rate them and let me know what you think about them, peace and enjoy.

  • michael for president greatest ever

  • This was the flaw of the NBA on NBC. It made it all about the individual rather than the team. That's why CBS' coverage wil always be THE BEST. Of course NBC's work with the NBA was waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better than the garbage being done by ABC.

  • god i love nba on nbc

  • Was NBC MJ's bitch?

  • Everybody is MJ's bitch.

  • @ciccone39 MJ was one of the kind...stupid ass!! He is the greatest!!

  • @Domini478 Kobe is gaining on him.

  • he ain't gaining on him no where...he will never get 6 NBA Finals MVPs(NBA Record)(keyword: MVP!!!), 10 scoring titles(NBA Record), and the highest scoring avg in NBA History...but MJ got that!!!

  • @Domini478 we will see after Kobe collect his 5th ring in June.

  • THAT still don't mean shit because he will never get 6 NBA Finals MVPs...keyword: MVPs! dumbass!!

  • @Domini478 we will see dude. Kobe is breathing down is neck.

  • Shut the fuck up!!!!!!

  • @ca9999 on who? robert horry's 7 rings? sam jones' 10 rings? He sure as hell aint gaining on Mj's defensive domination, defensivel player of the year award, MJ's career scoring average in the nba finals, 41 ppg average in the 1993 finals...

  • these intro and theme were always epic

  • This is what it's all about!

  • Does anyone know the name of the piano music in this?

  • Michael Jordan = GOAT

23>24 , the new 23, etc, etc, etc,

    PLEASE

    PLEASE

    PLEASE

    Don't get it twisted!!!!

  • @Anteater711 Kobe aint CLOSE to MJ... I wasn't even a great fan of him but MJ is ten times the player kobe ever was.

  • For all you YOUNG FOLKS... who think you have seen the best this game has to offer!!

Think again... This is how the game should be played!

No stupid leggings, tattoos, headbands, and no selfish premadonnas! Just basketball... pure basketball played with all their heart, mind, and desire.

  • took the words right out of my mouth man!!! No player tried to stand out wearing all this crap like they do now...back then when real basketball was played you stood out by your game plain and simple

  • Agreed I remember watching this when I was younger and it was great memories. I miss the Bulls Dynasty.

  • Such great memories. Why ABC didn't continue on with that theme song I'll never know.

  • Those were the good ol daya when CBS was carrying the games and then NBC

  • EPIC

  • I was watching the playoffs and how James is supposed to be the next Jordan. However, when it was just Kobe, they are trying to say that with the players he has around him that the Lakers could keep on winning titles. They compare Kobe to MJ. MJ was the next step from "The Doctor". Let the athletes play the game. One thing that IS missing is the gritty all-out play of old. A John Madden type of basketball! Could you see HIM calling NBA games! LMAO!

  • They were always on the same team. That's way MJ never won without Pippen. And when Pippen wasn't on the team Michael had absolutely nothing around him. So don't give me that bullshit argument.

  • @Cosmicpower233 MJ made Pippen...stupid...

  • They MILKED MJ for all he was! I was a huge Bulls fan & even must admit how biased it was. It seemed like NBA & NBC REALLY wanted him to win.

  • @patoutou25 MJ was the greatest...stupid....

  • damn the intro was damn good, and those kids dunk really good though even though the basket wasnt so high

  • Jordan, Pippen, Barkley, Mutombo, Shaq, Kobe, the spurs twin towers, Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Magic, Bird, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp. Wilt, Russell, Reggie Miller, Stockon, Malone, Julius Erving, Oscar RObertson, Jason Kidd..etc.>>>>>LeBron James, Carmelo, Dwade, CP3, Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson...etc.

  • Jordan,Magic,Bird,Barkley,Olajuwon,

    Pipen,Jabbar,Ewing,Wiltt,Russel,Moses Malone,Calvin Murphy,Dr.J

    Mutombo,Ralph Sampson

    Penny Hardaway,Vernon Maxwell,Drexler,John

    starks,Mario Elie,Stockon, Kar Malone,Rodman,Gary Payton,Horry,Cassel,

Reggie Miller,Kevin Willis,Larry Johnson,Eddie Johnson,Ron Harper. I can go on if you want

They will own all the new players of these days.

  • Oh I forgot Shaq. = )

  • you forgot Isiah Thomas, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Dominique Wilkins, Shawn Kemp and David Robinson. Just makes that list that much GREATER!!

Altho i would leave off Russell and Wilt since every other player is from the 80s/90s.

  • the NBA made SOOOOO much money off mike

  • Pippen deserves a statue too.

  • pippens definitely underrated

  • There is an interview with Ron Harper where he says that if you wanted to see Jordan at his absolute best, you would've had to have watched him go up against Pippen in practice. Harper said that is when he saw both Jordan and Pippen at their best. I think it's a solid testament to Pippen's skill level.

  • Damn i would DIE to see one of this practice one on one exhibitions between them... I can't believe that no one ever filmet one of their machtes...

  • these intros used to be so epic. nba on nbc used to be the best. michael jordan was the only reason i watched basketball during that time lol

  • SO TRUE!

  • Epic intros? Right

"Jordan was all the NBA had to offer in the '90's?" PATENTLY FALSE

  • Absolutely. NBC's intros could give you goosebumps.

  • @yaiqab 20 years later, and I just got the goosebumps all over again! My Dad and I knew that tune meant it was time for the game.

  • lol at 0:00 to 0:18 was weird when the little basket court that looked like a basket court was weird

  • NBA on NBC was great. However NBC were MJ's bitch time after time and this intro(one of many the same) proves it.

  • I really miss John Tesh!

  • man jm could have won 7 or 8 titles if he did'nt retire.this video inspires me to get better on my game and keep working

  • That was a tight intro....nobody had more pressure to be "themselves" than Jordan. He created his own high expectations.

  • Fuck build ups

  • If they called the games back then like they do now where you can't even touch a guy on the perimeter, MJ would've averaged 40 ppg every year. Kobe just got shut down by a great defense, just like in the 04 Finals against Detroit. Put a taller, long defender on Kobe and he struggles.

  • Goosebumps with the old school NBA on NBA theme song. Even if NBA got the NBA back, not sure they'd be able to recapture what they once had.

  • NBA on NBC that is.

  • Never would have thought anyone would say anything about music composed by John Tesh. But for once in his life, he got it right.

  • I miss the NBA on NBC! It made the game seem so much more profound! Costas is so much better than that Breen clown

  • Actually I think Chappelle's Show had a big part in the "KOBE!" fad..

  • How do guys like Kobe and MJ have this inner will?

  • You should be shot for mentioning them in the same breath.. Kobe is great.. MJ is legendary.. MJ always came thru.. Kobe sometimes comes thru

  • these NBC intros made the game seem so much more important than they do now

  • No. Its just the media has changed. Sports radio does not talk about sports anymore. Only the negative stories around it. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s the media loved sports ad portayed it to the fans. Now its just NEGATIVE ESPN NONSENSE,MESSAGE BOARDS AND TALKING HEADS ON SPORTS RADIO. People still love sports. But TV does not show us that anymore.

  • Today's NBA Completely Sucks.

  • Of course it does, the NBA has sucked ever since Jordan retired from the Bulls in 1998

  • Great, great intro. I dont know what their doing at ABC.

  • it's so beautiful, i just want to cry...lol

  • indeed. I can't believe what those bastards at ABC have done to my NBA. it's truly a travesty.

  • Everytime I do MJ's fadaway on the low block and score on ppl these days in pick up games. They say "wow, Kobe..." I am like mann...thats a MJ fadaway.

  • Samething here I hate when they say Kobe when I do MJ's fade. Mike was doing that move when Kobe wasn't even close to being in the league

  • just like how the announcer said kids dream to be jordan, now days every time i play basketball kids always say KOBE when they shoot. lol.

  • For me,it seems to be the same thing whenever you see a kid score big, they say he's playing like Kobe. But i still keep my trust in Jordan.

  • You're right. It seems like the new generation you point out don't know Jordan, so they turn to the next exciting player which is Kobe because they relate to him.

  • Again I say, WE WANT OUR NBA ON NBC!!!!!!!!!
