  • There won t be a great filmmaker like Kubrick. He´s a legend of cinema.Only one modern filmmaker can step on his shoes:Christopher Nolan :)

  • @Mi436 pffffft, christopher nolan omg, just stop you just ruined everything by putting kubrick in the same sentence with that guy. are you kidding me? the guy who made a few comic book blockbusters and another heist blockbuster is going to stand in the leagues of Kubrick? kubrick made high art. Nolan is a great filmmaker. but he is no kubrick, that for sure. paul thomas anderson.....perhaps.... even then not a close match. sorry i love nolan, but even i know that kubrick is on a different level

  • Music is La Gazza Ladra ( The Magpie thief ) by Rossini.

  • stanley oh stanely...

  • The music in the intro is called thieving magpie

  • Wha's the name of the music?

  • like John Huston he never made the same genre of picture twice, but I find I like Kubrick's pictures more over time, takes a mature mind to really "get" them. most pictures do not get better the next time you see them. signed, used to edit with the blade.

  • what is the music at the beginning?

  • Happy Birthday, Mr. Kubrick. You're overdue for your next film! ;-)

  • Stanley Kubrick is god

  • Kubrick, to me, kinda looks like Orson Welles.

  • Girl at 1:14?

  • @Stiny114 I think she is Wendy Carlos, a compositor. (Clockwork Orange)

  • @Aloz50 Oh yeah. The transvestite.

  • @Aloz50 is the Walter Carlos music still available? for year it was not because of the switch legally to Wendy, that was some great music? do you know?

  • Whats the song? I like it!

  • @DaltonsMusicVideos It's Rossini's "La gazza ladra"

  • Comment removed

  • What´s the movie with the ballet dancer spining around in the dark at 2:20?

  • @alejamdq Killer's kiss

  • @Films7art

    Thank you very much!

  • @alejamdq That is "The Killer's Kiss", the second Kubrick movie.

  • What an intro to the genius, god of cinema

  • my god! shelley is completely changed!

  • The Man, The Myth, The Legend. One of the greatist film makers of all time.

    Ladies and Gentlemen

    Stanley Kubrick

  • What is name of the music that is playing?

  • @ssfilms217 Rossini's "The Thieving Magpie".

  • brilliantly edited introduction. Having Scorsese, Allen, Spielberg and Pollack rave just confirms Kubrick's genius.

  • this guy was a hack.

  • K U B R I C K

  • whats the name oft this song in the begining?

  • @GJNXFGH

it's part of The Thieving Magpie by Rossini actually, was used in Clockwork Orange.

  • @GJNXFGH It's the overture to Rossini's 'La Gazza Ladra' or The Theiving Magpie.

  • What is the name of this peace of music???

  • @georgekaplanful Beethoven, not sure which . . .

  • Only American director that was a real intelectuial and created really really samrt movies not hoolly wood shiet

  • hahah Jack Nicholson should have done "Here's Johnny!"

  • i know the killing is not nearly as ambitious as his later work, but i think its really underrated. anyone agree?

  • @inrwizards I agree its Resevoir Dogs and Usual Suspects 40yrs before.

  • @nmjrule Indeed.

Both movies i think are qualified masterpeices, but kubrick set the bar for masterpeices.

And I think, Kubrick will always stand alone.

  • Stanley Kubrick=pure genius

  • god shelly duvall really let herself go

  • El intro al mas puro estilo Kubrick. El titular del periodico del minuto 0:17 parece de pelicula: "El hombre quien gusta decir NO" / "The man who liked to say no"

  • But I can't find the rest.

  • Sweet, thanks for uploading. I love Kubrick.

  • action and nudity equals a good show online at spartacusonline stream -dot-com

  • Only one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

  • @AlexDeLargeisHere Only one of the greates? I would say the greatest!

  • @MyNameIsMrFilm I do agree but I wouldn't want Martin Scorcese or fanboys bombarding me with negative comments.

You musn't forget Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Fredrico Fellini or Francis Tuffult.

  • @AlexDeLargeisHere Okay, I understand. Sorry if I was rude or something. Yes, they are also very good, but no one is as great as Kubrick in my opinion

  • @AlexDeLargeisHere I also love David Lean's stuff over they years that too gets better with time.

  • DodgeingTheMilitary

Should not be the end all

    Signed:Fordjust try and try again.

  • Best Documentary intro I've ever scene.

  • Can anyone say that Stanley Kubrick made a bad film? Of course not! And that is the beauty of his work: it was always very well planed and, as a result, people liked them very much. But sometimes people are dumb and can´t see a masterpiece and appreciate it: we have the case of Barry Lyndon (great photography) and Eyes Wide Shut (interesting plot and Nicole Kidman naked).

Like Woody Allen said: "One of the all time greatest motion picturemakers."

Stanley is The Man, like Jack Nicholson said.

  • Where's the rest to this documentary?

  • It's alright, I found them. Thanks for uploading them all. :D

  • mad genius

  • Mème pour le plus controversé de ses film , Kubrick n'est pas un cineaste, c'est un magicien...

  • yesterday i saw a documental called the dark side of the moon.. and it makes me think.. DOES AMERICANS REALLY THINK THEY ARE A GREAT NATION?OR A NATION AT ALL? i think they are just millions of puppets and they are living in a dream, because they continue flying in that dream, and they think being a great nation... i think USA history is just one of the greatest and most expensive stories ever told... and thats why they have such influence among all nations.

  • i think its funny you'd even breath an insult about the usa

  • I remember my first bong hit...

  • Just watched "Hillary: The Movie", and the intro was very familiar. (v=SqQ6PYcKseM)

  • spot on! Im going to copy one scene in american dad (that now one will notice)

  • The Greatest filmmaker of all time.

  • Very cool - great tribute!

  • Director, probably one of if not the most important.

  • Both.

  • Great intro!

  • I think it, too.

  • -Rossini's "The Thieving Magpie" Overture (from Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange")

  • thank you!

  • what's the name of the piece playing?

  • Kubrick fans, this is big. I just saw a clip from the 1960's with Peter sellers talking to the Beatles and Sellers talks to them in an American accent, and i seriously think he's doing Kubrick's voice. This is kind of plausible as they made a few films together, probably around the time of the footage, and...Peter S, so I've heard was always impersonating people. Check out 'Beatles talk to Peter Sellers' and see what you think. It's pretty 'interesting'. x

  • Best Montage in a Documentary ever. Stanley was one of the Best.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • Best film-director who ever lived...

  • 'This is Stanley Kubrick'...
