  • is this the dog & butterfly tour, if so i was at their Heart/Firefall show in hollywood, Fla.(sportatorium) was one of the best shows i have ever been to..Firefall wanted to headline, & they were big, but not near as big as Heart..this was their prime time in the business, right after the release of Dog & Butterfly.

  • when I was in high school I often mistook heart songs for Rush songs admitedly she did have a Geddy Lee-like voice in this and Barracuda not very feminine.

  • @fucheduck you must be joking Heart & rush totally diff, music & vocals..Geddy has such a distinct voice impossible not to recognize & same with Ann Wilson..

  • Saw this line-up twice in '78. Mike Derosier is still one of the best drummers I've ever seen. A monster!

  • I just love these peeps.

  • I saw them on this tour (in Birmingham, AL). They were even wearing the same clothes. I've seen a lot of great concerts, but this was one of the best. This band can (and does) move me to tears.

  • @thebird55 Nice!! Always good to hear Heart fan comments!Cheers

  • 70s Heart NEEDS to reunite for one more summer tour, before one of them passes away and it's all over. Put all the personal stuff behind you, get back to the music, and make your fans happy. We love you....and FORGIVE ROGER, damnit. He made a mistake. He's a MAN....we all make mistakes :-)

  • too bad the audio is so low.

  • I don't know another artist that sounds as good live as Anne.

Awesome song! Makes you wanna get up and do something!

  • @aflinchum YES,she inspires that in so many musicians and others as well.

  • @aflinchum

THERE IS NONE....NEVER WILL BE. WE WHERE LUCKY TO BE AROUND TO WITNESS HER LIVE, ESPECIALLY LIKE THIS DURING HER PRIME.....ALTHOUGH AT 60+ THIS WOMAN STILL SINGS LIKE NO OTHER WOMAN SHOULD AT HER AGE...sorry for all the caps, ...I'm just passionate about them!!!

  • wowowow yeah!

  • well wow! if even black girls know, then surely it must be real rock :D

  • Oh those were the days. Here I share my discovery that old time Rock 'n' Roll still live's!!!!!!!!!! Check her out;

  • you are magically transformed back to 1978

  • @LiltingLyricist Hell yes!

  • @LiltingLyricist No kidding. I was 19 at this show at the old Cap Center in Md. I remember being blown away by their rockin show. And like most 18 and 19 year old boys left infatuated with the Wilson sisters.

  • Love watching Ann and Nancy, but I really like how Roger Fisher plays.

  • I am a black girl, and even i know that this IS real rock n roll baby!

  • @MsAchampion your a Girl with excellent taste!

  • @MsAchampion Don't understand what your skin colour has to do with it to be honest, but yes - this real Rock n Roll

  • @MsAchampion Me, too!!!

  • When I saw HEART in Dublin 2004 this was the song they opened with. AOne of the classics from their first few albums. Ann is such a great singer!

  • Anne's fillers are sweeter than the lure of mythical Syrens! less in this case is not more :-)

  • @melmel075 Yes,I have a new live bootleg of this 77 @LA Amphitheater ,and less is more on this Rawker!

  • I always thought this song had a little Country flare to it! LOVE IT!! I'm surprised Ann never did a Country album....

  • @kdsnoopy1 Funny you say that since she inspired one of the better new female outlaw type country singers out there;Gretchen Wilson and I felt Gretchen totally did Ann proud on Barracuda and she explains how Heart influenced her life when she does Straight On with John Rich.

  • Roger Fisher is one of the best guitarists in rock music......he continues to inspire me. heart has never been the same without him....

  • @roccotanto

so right, because i rented the live Dreamboat Annie DVD, the new lead guitarist totally lacked...screwed up the intro to "Magic Man"...then they had to make a orchestral string arrangement for "Sing Child" (in the place of the vibratos that Roger did) go figure cos those are a freakin pain-he did those w one finger!

  • I was at this concert.. there was a fire on one of the speaker towers... and here Ann was singin kick it out.... funny

  • Great video and channel! Man, Ann Wilson had power. Lip syncers are such an insult to truly talented singers like here....

  • love it love it love it! my favourite band ever! I can only try to be as good a singer as Ann Wilson...but that's damn near impossible!

  • This band was super packed with talent. Amazing vocalist, of course, but that drummer and guitiar player rock too!!

  • @boogiemaam

True that. Their cover of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" totally

kills-from Roger's elaborate solo to Michael's take on the drum solo

which is not too far off from John Bonham's! Such a great band back

    then...

  • Is it just me, or does Ann do better with Short and Sweet songs like Kick It Out and Dreamboat Annie than she does on longer songs such as Heartless? In Heartless, Ann goes,"Ooo" for over a minute! I KNOW that the "Ooo" could have been replaced by REAL SINGING! The shorter songs don`t have the filler sounds. They just have straight up real singing. There`s no space for filler sounds on the short songs. :)

  • I always thought her Ooo's were real singing. : )

  • @lovesheart Agreed! Ann's Oooos and Wails are her signature!

  • @Donniesmith1975 i'm feeling u

  • KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're watching 2 of the most talented women in Rock. They put todays female pop artists to shame.

  • I agree that the Wilson sisters can really rock!! Hardly any better in the business I saw Heart in concert twice and both times they were fabulous!! They sound as good live as they are recorded!

  • u got that right

name any female artist in this day and age that has a fraction of the talent of the wilson sisters

  • @Drumguy1988 i know right? todays female *cough* "artists" have no talent at all. Theres even some stupid pop song called "this is what rock and roll looks like" and believe me itis far from what rock and roll looks like sounds like lol

  • @A7Xchick191 right on :D that song should be called " This is what recycled over hyped garbage looks like"

  • Audio is muffled

  • Ann wrote this but has said she is not crazy about it. Go figure - - it's a great rocker!!

  • No kidding, one of my fav's from the era,go figure fer sure??

  • what a voice!!!

  • the BEST rock and roll band-of ALL TIME period. I have seen Ann and Nancy in concert so many times, thru the decades -so many memories and great songs. I was thrilled when Nancy copied my hair when I saw their video (1990) "All I wanna do is Make Love to you"

    Heart-Keep On Rockin'!!!!!!

  • God, I STILL Love These gals!......Thanks for the vid.

    78-79.

    Nothing compares!

    Nothing

  • 31 years ago! That just can't be true. Can it? Yeah I guess it is.

  • I wish I was there with my head stuffed in one of the mains as Ann rips this one out!!!Paradise : )

  • Alright,Come On Come On!!!!

  • Heart were astonishing! one genius rock tune after another and another and........there'll never be another band like Heart!

  • this is what I call classic rock to the core. One of their many best songs

  • s'posed to be L O U D !!!!

    Especially this one!

  • I have followed this group since 1976 and being a musician myself I can tell you if you dont reinvent yourself you get stale. The early 80's were a transition period but when you have raw talent like these sisters you cant really fail no matter what direction you go.Why are they not in the R&R Hall of Fame!! SHAME, SHAME !!!

  • I know! I was watching it a few years ago and I was totally expecting heart but they weren;!

  • the rock and roll hall of fame don't mean ****! We all know how revolutionary Heart were up to 79, absolutely untouchable. Another band that hasn't got the nod that should is The Pretty Things. Who decides who should get merit over someone else anyway? B.S! one hell of a party though I'm sure

  • Yes,I agree!

  • I was just a little kid when my uncle jeff took me to see heart and john couger in dertroit, they were still in this gypsy phase, I think it was the allies tour. Next time was the heart album wityh these dreams in regina saskatchewan. That time it was big hair and spandex> really strange transformation. Still great , it was just the times!

  • WHAT a song...some friends that had a band called Sweetwater, in Wichita KS, did this song SO good!

Hope you are well Paula, Doug, Jerry and the rest. PS- from Marsha's friend.

Thanx for posting one of the BEST Heart songs!!!! Awesome job girls and glad you're still rockin'!

  • Wow. This looks, sounds, and feels JUST LIKE what Rush was also doing int he 70's. Good footage...

  • I have a good copy of the Little Queen promo film. Are there any "Bebe Le Strange" promo films in circulation? I know there's one around somewhere, since it was shown on the "Behind the Music" special. There's also a Largo MD 1980 Heart show around somewhere as well, but it hasn't been posted on YouTube yet.

  • They had no choice. They lost their direction when they fired the Fishers. The Wilsons tried their own thing with "Private Audition" and "Passionworks" and they failed. In 1983 they were playing half filled arenas on a double bill with Kansas. It was sad - I was there. Had they let the Fishers control the helm, they'd have been filling stadiums in the 1980s without having to have sold out.

  • Yeah true, passion works had only a couple of good songs and the production/drum sound was horrible! Then it was spandex and big hair. Still love them though!

  • I love the Wilsons so much. I am just sorry for what they mutated to in the 80s. That poodle corporate rock was awful

  • Just another era in their journey, sure increased their fan base and got them their 1st #1!

  • Well it was their songs o'the '80's an' '90's that made me a fan of'em.

  • Quote: "I love the Wilsons so much. I am just sorry for what they mutated to in the 80s. That poodle corporate rock was awful."

I agree. In that Behind the Music special on VH1, even Ann & Nancy looked back disdainfully on that time & basically said, "What were we thinking?" They got caught up in the AOR corporate rock game, and they admit it.

As for the comment about their fan base, sure it increased, but it was the wrong kind of fans -- those who only liked them for hit singles.

  • This was always one of my fav songs by Heart and it sounds even better live here than on the album. Thx for posting.

  • I dont think Ann could get any hotter...Roger Fisher has played the most memorable licks in rock history

  • These were the days. Being born in Seattle wa sa great thing music wise. Seeing Heart all the time in different venues from the Moore Theatre, Paramount, Seattle Center Coliseum. The whole band was a class act.

  • Start your journey through HEARTS catalogue with Dreamboat Annie!

  • Keyword "Classy"...no doubt! I love these ladies. They get better each time I get to see or hear them.

  • fucken wonderfull

  • Nothing today is any better than this classic old 70&80's stuff. The Wilson sisters have it and had it. Pure rock!! Never sounded brtter.

  • Awesome song! I love the guitar solo. I half expected the friction to light the guitar on fire! Awesome solo!

  • One of my favourites. I taught my band how to play it. I love hearing Ann sing. She inspires me sooooo much!!

  • I wish I had a band............

I'd love to play this song! (probably wouldn't sound near as good, though.)

  • my friends and i used to change the words when

one of us had boyfriend problems....

kick him out! kick him out! hahahaha

    still rocks!!!!!

  • @januaryM Funny!!!

  • that guitar solo... leaves ME dazed half-crazed!!

lOoOvE this song, wonder what was her inspiration for writting it

  • I wonder too Haylie2610,its all sexy Ann though!

  • funny thing about this song, every year on august 3rd, i find a bar on the jersey shore to celebrate...sitting in a bar in a seaside town..just because those lyrics mean so much to me

  • Really,cool..I suspect her inspiration came from hanging in Vancouver in the early year's.This was always one of my fav's as well!

  • i was there, do you have more, how did you get the cap centre stuff?? now that its gone, i'd love to see the vids from the shows i went to.

  • ...a hard racy game of give and take... She leaves 'em half dazed, half crazed, in her wake. At least she keeps 'em awake! LOL!

    I love Ann...Kickin' it Out!

  • I think it's weird how the drummer got his set to snare almost exactly like John Bonham's. Love the drummer for heart

  • Godamn this is a smokin' tune......if you know what I mean.

  • Look at Nancy jamming on the keyboards. Is there an instrument she cant play? lol :)

  • No shit, thats the fix I needed today..Rogers smoking on this as well...I love this track.

  • agree, they were all rockin out hardcore on this one.

  • I don't think so!!

  • they sound just as good today as they did then.....they are amazing...Ann Wilson has the best voice.

  • Man, this song rocks, shame it isn't longer.
