Born again christianity is funny. Of all the denominations it really is one of the most lulz worthy. It inspires me to blaspheme the holy spirit on a regular basis.
Acts 2:38 Sums it all up in a nutshell! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Death,burial, and resurrection on of Jesus Christ. When guilty sinners asked what shall we do to be saved? (Acts 2:37-38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
So when it says "ye must be born again" that's a mistake, and what it should say is "you must be born again and again and again"? I'm glad we have you, as there I was trusting the existing version of John's Gospel. How wrong I was!
I was making a joke about this because I saw a New Ager bumper sticker that believes in reincarnation and they were making fun of born again Christians with a sticker that said "BORN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN."
We have only one physical birth on earth and I have a spiritual birth (being born again).
Does that make sense? I didn't mean to confuse you (unless you were kidding). I was trying to say being a new reincarnation in Christ with our Daily Bread of Jesus.

Also, salvation isn't about being born again and again and again and again. It's about being born again - period. A physical birth is a good example. How in the world can we be born again physically? We can't. This is the same way with salvation. What you are referring to is not salvation, you are referring to sanctification which is a daily process to be conformed to the image of God's Son. But, that's not a requirement to salvation; just a result.
When John 3:5 says, "Except a man be born of water..." it is not referring to baptism. What "born of the water" is referring to is physical birth. If someone is not born into this world, then he can't enter the kingdom of God obviously. The whole time Nicodemus is referring to a physical birth, but Jesus is saying it takes not just a physical birth, but a spiritual birth. Also, the things you mentioned refer to after salvation, not before.
A person does not have to be baptized in this dispensation of grace. Baptizim is a part of the Jewish dispensation, all males 30 and over were required under the law to be baptized, it is not required for the Body of Christ the Church. We are not a part of Israel's program under the Mosaic Law. Salvation for Israel, required keeping the law, it was not to gentiles, a gentile had to become a Jew under this dispensation
There is some debate in born again Christians over being baptized.
Certainly the thief at the cross with Jesus was not baptize and he went into the Kingdom of Heaven. Being baptized shows the world your commitment to Jesus. The Holy Spirit enter Jesus when He was baptized by John the Baptist.
I personally believe you don't have to be baptized. But if you are a Christ Follow why wouldn't you want to be baptized. I have been baptized.
@VintageChris170 All scripture is for our learning but not all is to us the Body of Christ. We are to follow our Apostle Paul in the dispensation of grace. Jesus' earthly ministry was to the Jews, Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But some Christians thought I was re-writing the Bible. Which I would never do.

That's the Biblical answer. Baptism happens after salvation, it's not a part of salvation.
