All I said was that I find this cover of Louie Louie directionless and uninspiring. I incorrectly remarked on the speed, and retracted it. That wasn't even my main issue. You mention rebelling against the machine, by playing one of the most popular pop songs? irony? deliberately doing a dull version to sour a 'machine favorite'? bandwagoning on the FBI case?

@thegreatNEb You obviously dont understand The Clash or what they were trying to do. They were not merely a "punk" band. Their music was an attempt to fuse together many different styles, and for the most part they succeded.

In this case they were playing a classic song that they enjoyed, and they played it very well, in my opinion. I am sorry you did not see it that way.

It is hard to believe that you or anyone could hear Joe's vocals and call this cover uninspiring.
