  • I was told by a Muslim friend from Dubai that he is NOT allowed to play the guitar cos it would go against Islam. I thought Muslims from every country is the same...

Yea this Santoor is one of the nicest instrument ever... excellent invention.

  • Is this beautiful Musical Instrument, Santoor allowed to be played in Muslim country IRAN?

  • @shcoke2 Duh, it is from there. You cant not hear it being played there. What do you think Iran is?

  • @shcoke2

um yes? of course they play music

  • You are really good! What tuning system do you play in?

  • Awwwe, Persia Rulz<3.

  • Amazing, simply amazing

  • I can not believe people that can appreciate something as beautiful as this can get caught up in a childish cursing over religion or ethnicity. Persian are not arabs and arabs are not persians. who cares? Ethnicity does not define you. and Islam is a religion. please listen to yourselves. Be a little more respectful and tolerant of each other. there is space for everyone!

  • Thank you, beautifully played,

  • To the idiots and some uninformed people: Iranians are persians not arabs, and Santoor is nothing to do with Islam.

  • beautiful

  • DAMET GARM VA PAYANDE BASHI.

GREAT BACKGROUND PICTURE ,SUPERB PRESENTATION ,KEEP IT UP AND POST NEW MUSIC AS I REALLY ENJOYED IT.

  • İrandan çok kaliteli ve uygun fiyata santur getiriyorum, ilgilenenler gittigidiyora bakabilir.

  • I just realized this guy is my friend! I met him over a year ago...I had saved this video years ago...and I had no idea this was him. Wow he is so humble. Makes him even a more respectable musician.

  • This is wonderful music played by a human being and it does not matter persian or other. Why? Why? are you lot arguing about senseless stuff. Just enjoy the music.

  • im so proud of my tajik/persian culture! from a herati to all the persian/tayik people of the entire world! :)

  • Nice music.

    Marvin, from Belgium.

  • I play the santoor but with notes ... does anyone have the notes to this piece?

  • It baffles me all this racist crap people write when looking at someone being creative or expressive or artistic. If you are a hater, then you deserve to be hated. Arguing over stuff and poisoning it with your ignorance and bad spirit. All you haters should be put in one place to argue and rip eachother up and leave the rest of us to just get on with being human beings, no matter our origin.

  • YA HAG!

  • @tammgeology name me one notable sumerian, assyrian or babylonian santur player you hater. I notice alot of people are jealous of persian culture on youtube. i understand white culture is shameful and disgraceful to the human race, but cmon buddy, let others embrace theirs. Persians are the living soul of the santur and instruments of the like. the proof is right before your eyes/ears. dont be ignorant. just embrace.

  • @Amird151 Bla bla bla. Jealous from persian culture? Sumerian, Assyrian and Babylonian have older and greater civilizations than Persian. Check your references idiot, and you will see that the oldest musical instruments were made in Iraq. You (the european and americans ) hate the Iraqi civilization because the Babylonians destroy the jewish and slave them like animals (read your Bible).Fuck you and Fuck Iran.Soon or late Iran will throw nuclear bombs on your country.

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 you missed my point completed dickweed. I embrace those ancient cultures the way i do mine. I have studied the sumerians extensively and indeed they are the root of all that is epic. But you missed my point fucktard. Irans borders have virtually stayed quite similar through millnia. although arabs raped us, at least we remain. what about those empires you name? HISTORY!!!!! Persia/iran thus lives the spirit of their creations. make sense?i dont hate anyone, just ignorant peop

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 just because Babyloians assyrians and sumerians were the first civilizations thus birth of MANY ideas including arts and culture, doesnt mean modern day degenrate arab freaks who live in IRAQ should credited LOL! while we (at least my genes and family) are direct descendents of ancient persia. and you cant throw nukes dumb fuck, theyre launched. + Persia held babylon for 500 years HAHA! look buddy my point was, Embrace this time travel into the ancient world of music. :)love

  • @Amird151 You are not pure persian.Persia is mixed with turkish, arabs, mongols, Afghans, Kurds, Armenians. Your country were invaded by Assyrians and Babylons and Ottomans and many others. If you see your people well, you will realize that they have arabic, turkish, chinese, indians....etc details. I saw the pure people in scandanivia and other western europe countries ONLY, but not in your faked country. You even use many arabic words (the language of Holy Quraan) in your ugly language.

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 according to geneological studies my people settled and never moved from Shiraz area, capital of the achemaenid empire. Yes all those people have come and gone. afghans are our cousins u dumb fuck, indians???!?! AHAHAHAH! chinese?!?!?!? ahahahh!!!! U DONT KNOW ANY HISTORY. there are kurds, lors, armenians, and MANY minorities in iran, not a single one of which is in my blood. my family is more fair than turk related iranians and our skulls are long and narrow. we are PERSIAN

  • @Amird151 I didn't mean by my last comment your family only.I meant whole Iran. I visited Iran and also my friends. We saw people with small eyes like chinese, dark color skin, and many different kinds which prove what I said. You said that those people have come and gone HAHAHA. That means they setteled and mix with your people. You are racist iranian and I met many of iranian like you and here in europe they dont respect the iranians (and also the Kurds) as they discovered their racism. خداحافظ

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 persians and kurds discovered racism? man you are dumb...

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM FUCK YOU AND FUCK IRAN

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 I hope kurds consume all of iraq, fucking backwards wife beating arab. go ride a camel and slit your wife's throat

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM The arabs fuck Iran several times and SADDAM fucked Iran and Kurds also.Hehehehehe. Soon, USA will fuck Iran and your women will be sold to the ARABIAN GULF countries and to us. Go and pray to your fire to protect you.

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 Fire will protect me. ALLAH on the othr hand, doesnt exist... Iran, Armenia, Greece, Kurdistan, Rome, Germany, tajik, ireland, india, etc. ARIANS UNIFY, Defy the infidel retard. crush the short skulled semites arabs and jews, i cant believe youre proud of sadam, that says it all, and sadam got WRECKED by iran, and he had EVERY super power behind him. go read kid. youre fucking dumb

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM If you do not believe in Allah, I can defeat your fire ( your god) through my piss, or a glass of water HEHEHEHE. I dare you if you can do the same for Allah. You are still live in a dream of the ARIAN nation, which is a fake myth. You are not a pure nation because you can see different kind of ugly people in your shit country.

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM Much of you are similar to arabs, chinese, indians, Afghanistan, and many others because you were invaded by many people and especially by the arabs who fuck your women. Many of your words are derived from arabic languages and even your writting letters. So do not consider yourself belong to Europeans. Go read well ugly iranian GAY and see how we destroy your empire and defeated you for ever and now you will defeated by USA very soon with the cooperation with the ARABS.

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM FUCK YOU AND FUCK IRAN AND FUCK YOU GOD (the funny fire) hehehehehehe.By the way, I live in Europe and the people here hate Iranians, kurds, more than anyone because you are always the source of problems and live like. Remember that most of your names are arabic in origin.HEHEHEHEHEHEHE and lots of your people are short skulled and your president is one of them and many others. HEHEHEHEHEHE. My last words to you-FUCK YOU AND FUCK IRAN AND FUCK YOUR HOT GOD hehehehehe

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 you just proved my point, Shortskulls were raped by retarded arabs, many of them willingly. Ahmadinejad is OF TURKISH BLOOD hence why hes 5'6 and his skyll is tiny and his eyes are CHinked, Dont fuck around buddy, whether you live in europe or not, you will always be an arab.... an abuser of women and freedom, you must drool over the white women there eh? and your english is terrible so i bet you'll never touch a white girl, shortskulled retard , stupid Muslam

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM You are the most stupid person I have ever been talked with. You must know that my origin is Iranian and our family moved to Iraq (that was before 100 years ago).So I know the iranian more than you.Your english is very bad.So try to read more about english grammer. I hav been in Germany for 15 years and I am enjoying my life and have many girlfriends, and fuck white blonde women.Sex is something very easy for me and I can have it whenever I want. fuck you.fuck iran. THE END

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

alright child, i believe the series of lies you just presented here before the youtube masses reinforces the argument i've been making. You are a jealous child with minimal abilities to say anything outside of just pure hatred. its not the end kid, i'll keep coming back until you're out. AHAHAHAHAHAH dont lie, you never have or will touch a white woman. white women are scared of arabian men, while i know many half persi/white people

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM the muslims was vanish your fire worship persian empire for ever , always remember that , you don't have any idia about any thing .

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM velesh kon in ye arabe ke maghzesho beshkafi ye sellul bishtar tush nist unam pore eslame :-)

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 Aryans have treated their women like gold for millenia, only an arab considers a woman a commodity, thats why he hides her, sells her, and slits her throat whenever he pleases, like his goats.... islam is the enemy of women. so sell your own women, dont even consider thinking about ours, they want freedom, and islam is their enemy

  • @PersiaWithoutISLAM You are really a stupid iranian animal. Islam respect women more than you. You sell and trade your women in porn films and sex magazines and use them as cheap goods to buy and sell as you like. The women in your world is just for sex. Most of your women sell their body just for drugs and sex (like animals) as the europeans do. This is what the Iranians want. YOU ARE ANIMALS

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 steck deinen islam sonst wo hin.

stick your islam in your ass, islam is very good but only for arabic kameliers and another backward people

  • @Peykan47 HAHAHAHAHA Omar Ibn Khatab destroyed your fuckin emperor for ever and ISLAM invade your people and life for ever. Even most of your names derived from Arabic language . Fuck you and fuck your Zoroastrianism. I can piss on your fuckin fire and Zoroastrianism you pray with my cock hahahaha. Soon or later, USA will bomb you with the support of ARABS and they will fuck you again hahahaha.

  • @TheHarpsichordist1 :( listen to yourself! I have not read the chain of comments leading to this but....

  • @Amird151 there has been so much mixing, no one can say "i am pure" of anything. there is only one race and thats the human race

  • @tromokratio Arabian scale? persian music was a flourishing art and well known aspect of the ancient world long before islam, and the santur is from preislamic period. What he is playing is 100% persian. through conquest arabs learned the music and science of the major empires that ran the show before them. Do you really think sophisticated music existed in desolate barren deserts with minimal cultural interaction? while persia was between paris to delhi, lots of interaction

  • @Amird151 he just got owned...PERSIAN REPRESENT

  • You have made this Persian very proud. Thank you for representing IRAN ZAMIN to the fullest!

  • @ddianax daca ar canta si ai nostri la tambal altceva decat chefuri si jale cred ca ar fi interesant:).

  • Amazing indeed! This in unearthly music. Words fail me. Bravo

  • Sooo beautiful

  • What a beautiful piece ... absolutely mesmerising ... Wow!!

  • Nice piece, but the instrument needs some tunning, it's E (mi) note if off !

  • good

  • ILOVE IT

  • Is this the same as a Hammered Dulcimer. Please Reply im intrested in buying one. oh and also what is a good brand and should i buy used or new?!

  • This could be called a hammered dulcimer as it is a dulcimer which is played with hammers. However if you buy one from a shop in north america it will most likely be a version used in celtic/welsh and appalachian music and the tuning might not match the Santur/Santoor played in this recording. Keep asking around and good luck! It is an easy instrument to play simple tunes on, though obviously this level of mastery would take dedicated practice! My advice: Buy a used one to test your love for it.

  • Best thing to do is purchase one from Iran. The hammered dulcimer is a lot different from the traditional Iranian santur.

It'll probably cost you around £70-£100. Bargain ;-)

  • Espectacular es tu música,diós (ALÁH) os vendiga a todos vosotros los que hacéis hablar a los instrumentos musicales.Diós ha creado 3 cosas;el universo , las mujeres y la música.thank u

  • Incroyablement beau O_O

  • i have been listening to these ancient music around the world and its fascinating how these instrument from different parts are almost the same.this instrument look like guzheng from east asia. to everybody instead of looking for difference we all shoud find similarities among each other. i think thats wat we need today. after all we all r same we all r human. peace..

  • @angeltinkfly this is probably the most rationnal thing ive read since we entered 2010.

    Santur, santouri, guzheng kanun

    Nay, ney, bansuri, shakuhachi

bouzouki, buzuq, luth, oud, ud, pipa

  • ofcourse. the Persian Empire (Iran) stretched from Greece/ Egypt to India/China and from Yemen to Russia (modern day). Iran has influenced the whole world.

  • @angeltinkfly

    1. We don't call it Guzheng. We call this Yangqin.

    2. We know most of the Chinese instruments came from Persia.

  • .

The moment you say up and down to anyone and get away from historical facts ... you become a prejudice, non human Moran!

Whatever has ever been created on earth, belongs to humanity. You sound like a politician whose head is in his behind!

Stop the hatred if any human on earth.

Wake up dude its 2009. It aint 1960's

    .

  • This is the first time I've heard the santoor thanks to a friend, Farshad. The sound is beautiful and the fragrance of middle eastern culture and history is released as each note is unlocked. Beautiful. Praise God.

  • :) I have NOW today got my Santour from Iran!

You are, and I speak from my heart, a talented and fantastic man.

Keep it up, I will return to this page in future again to listen to your music.

  • i like this one

  • "farshadiran" you are wrong to talk to people in that manner. Trust me, you do not speak for all Iranians.

  • can any body tell the plce to get this instrument and how much would it be looking around? cheeeeeeeeeers

  • I love the music you're playing. It must come from Paradise. My friend I sit in Diyare gorbat and you take me to our homeland.

  • @GoKu503 pasho boro yek safar vatan age khosh nisti.

  • Yes I'm an Arab and I thank you for the comment, but please don't be unpolite. My Allah is your Allah and everyone's Allah.

You should have only adviced me that Iranian people do not use this mode to express their admiration, and I would have been gratefull to you.

Let's be freinds and brothers in God and not enemies. If Santur, which I love, may unite our hearts allover the world, then let it do that.

    Assalamu Alaykum.

  • Dear karimelsaidi,

Thanks for your expression about santur, an Iranian instrument. You have every right to express your awe whichever you like and no one can tell you how you could do it.

We also can awe the way we like. Some of us as farsahdiran says might say things like Merci (a French word) and Damet Garm. It is also very common among Iranians to use the pharase Masha-Allah, though not knowing exact meaning of the phrase and just to express awe.

  • However, farshadiran was a little too rude and I do not think he represent a culturred and civilized Iran.

Also you are right God=Allah=Khoda. But saying everyone should say such as this or that is not also appropriate. Some people might not believe in God as many do.

Anyhow, thanks for your kind expressions again and as always, despite all bitter rivalry through history, Iranians and Arabs have shared great deal of good culture and learned from each other along the way.

  • thanks,

If I knew that a simple comment would have made such a clatter, I would have abstained. Something, anyway, is very important: we (Arab and Iranian) must try to better understand each other, and I'm welling to.

    Salam
