Reference was made in the video to the F800GS's excellent fuel economy. I test rode one today and I zero'd the computer and on motorway riding I was getting - 90mph 6th gear 43mpg, 80mph 6th gear 46mpg. Not that special. This is a shame because if I could get 55mpg+ on the motorway I'd buy one over the Tiger800 although after also testing the Tiger I prefer it's engine.
At first I thought there were two Beemers sitting next to each other, then I realised the red one was the Triumph. Maybe the designers meet up for drinks every so often.
Once you ride the BMW you will realize how boring the motor is and really inst anything special.... Seriously it's flat and has no real power and feels like a john deer tractor. I have test rode the Tiger 800XC and that is freaking blast to ride with great power and motor that has some personality. BOTH NEED ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION
The BMW is lower in power, yet the tiger is higher in torque. Was the lower torque on the tiger ever an issue? No2, did you compare vibration? I'm a 800gs owner but a little inclined to the 3 cyl.
crazy jump! and i think they are both great bikes! the triumph looks cooler, don't like the fact that the pilions footpegs are weld to the steel frame - if you drop the bike - what does that mean for the frame if it falls on the peg?
mmmmmm. maybe in the future well be able to "virtually ride" these by plugging our brains in. ... i would even settle for plugging my nose in to be able to smell all these new bikes. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Actually the rear LED light on the BMW F800GS does flicker, mine does as well as my wifes in rear life...It's a safety feature of the bike to grab the followers attention and it works!

The BMW is extremely comfortable. Not a fan at all of the BMW's but I have to had it too them on this respect. After a long test ride it was the most comfortable seat I've ever been on. Cant understand why MCN would say otherwise.
@dergelbevonderelbe Do it. It is absolutely superb. The instructors are world class riders, nice people, a good laugh and extremely competent teachers.
Triumph will never be as good as BMW. Good thing that they try - it's always good for the others to have some competition so they would have to improve their products. The next thing is that Triumph is just really, really ugly, while the GS is just a bit ugly.
That Triumph Triple sound just overpowers the silent Bimmer... and I love it :)

Why the subliminal flashes of the triumph tiger? Thought I was getting a migrane. lol
MrNineTwoFive 5 months ago
Come on, no contest. It's BMW. Some people find it hard to lump and hope the next bike along is better, but sorry to say but BMW do damm good job..

Well if that is what a accomplished champion can do with a 800 so called dual purpose motorcycle( 2:26). The term" Lead Balloon" comes to mind.

gs is better bike by far.triumph is just a replica.

@ptso34
I'm a BMW fan, but the TRiumph is def NOT a replica. It, like all their bikes, has it's own charms, especially that 3 cylinder motor

Great video. I am very partial to the BMW F800GS. No comparison for me. Check out my video of a recent ride out to Death Valley.

@GSPilot4 why is it no comparison for you? theres too little arguments in your comment

Considering that the Triumph is less expensive, would you say that it is comparatively the better value than the BMW?

Love the fact you have stepped up production values...maybe time for you guys to step it up to a bike version of Top Gear!
Dont like the flash cuts too much... its like subliminal messaging! Greta vids though, thank you.

Did you get that BMW from the pidcock garage in Long Eaton? If so, I sat on it yesterday! It explains why it was covered in mud :)

@cemailumeu yup cuz you can tell by the panning blur...plus they don't seem to get the focusing down yet. Better than before...as well as audio.
DSLR are great for personal and some youtube videos, but still can't replace actual HD video cameras....never will.

Why is the GS's brake light flickering like that?
pacrat90 1 year ago
Its the frame rate of the camera, it makes LED brake lights look like that
