  • Just love this record. Takes me back. Great!

  • just sat with the husband and some friends enjoying this lovely song : )

  • Great song but it wasnt performed by any of the 4 blokes in the picture I assume is a later line up!

Lead vocals by the great Tony Burrows

  • @GoldenOldiesOn45RPM This is the original line up!

  • @Flickajak So pray tell me for a start which one you say is lead singer of the hit Tony Burrows as I can tell you he isnt any one of them ...

  • @GoldenOldiesOn45RPM Look, I am merely pointing out that contrary to your comment that this is a later line up these 4 guys were the original lineup behind Burrows as in all the TOTP appearances,..............take a look & see.

  • @Flickajak Agreed they were backing Burrows but trust you agree the photo is a Mk2 band lineup photo taken after Burrows had left.

  • @GoldenOldiesOn45RPM This is the Mk 1 line up minus Tony Burrows who didn't want to go on the road. They were put together in December 1969 by Tony Macaulay.

The Mk 2 line up can be found in the later colour clip. So to answer your comment these are definitely without any doubt, the first & original line up!! This is the band that toured in 1970 as Edison lighthouse.

  • @Flickajak With respect you cant claim its `Mark 1 without Burrows` as you`re contradicting yourself ! The fact that it`s `Mark 1 without Burrows` makes it a Mark 2 lineup. Tony Burrows had left Mark 1 as soon as his PR duties from TV was over in early 1970. The other 4 band members in your photo carried on playing live dates after he left but this was mark 2 as a matter of fact ! It wasnt a case he was still in the band was it ! The later Mark 3 line up featured all new members.

  • @GoldenOldiesOn45RPM Not quite sure what you're saying, Are you implying that these guys didn't actually back Tony Burrows on 5 TOTP appearances together with several other TV spots both here, the US & Scandinavia. They also incidentally appeared Live with Tony Burrows in 1970 at the Revolution club in London. Or maybe they were an Holographic projection?

  • @Flickajak I would repeat for anyone interest in facts that this song was not recorded by the 4 piece band band in the photo above but by a 5 piece band which comprised Tony Burrows and the above 4 musicians. There is a difference , although some are finding this fact rather difficult to understand..

  • Still have original 45 of this song and still plays great.

  • NintendoCaprisun brought me here.

  • Great song. Thanks for the post.

  • Classic song.

Reminds me of being a kid

when my mom would play this song.

  • Phil Leotardo and Joe Peeps whack Lorraine in season 5 of The Sopranos.

  • Love Tony Burrows' voice!

  • My name is Rosemary...

  • Reply to Mayerling, I was in love with a Rosemary were I worked in my teen years, but was so shy, I asked her friend out instead........Oh boy, what if ?

  • okay! I was just going out with my boyfriend in 1970, when this record came out and made it to No.1!!! Yay! and yes we have been married since 1974!!♥♪♫ and yes , my name is Rosemary!!

  • "I'm a lucky fella and "I've just got to tell." I can't believe how blessed I am! I remember this song and this era. I was a nerdy 8th grader back in the early '70's. I hated getting on that bus every morning because there were the inevitable bullies who taunted. But there was this little brunette named Jane who actually talked to me and made me feel 10ft tall. I found Jane just this past week on Facebook. I was divorced and so was she. We made a date and all the magic came back.

  • @jeff62rey awesome mate make the magic happen

  • Shallow Hal brought me here

  • Bob Golic loves these guys. Hey Bob and Karen!

  • okaaa this is my all time favourite song atm!"<3

  • Lorraine gets whacked to this Song

  • Shallow Hal anyone?

  • loveeeee it :D

  • Thumbs up if you are here because of Reservoir Dogs

  • I like this song(:

  • what a tune..

  • I can't listen to this without thinking about Reservoir Dogs! Epic!

  • Can't believe this was 42 years ago! almost half a century!!!

  • And to think I thought it was "Love Goes" this entire time. lol

  • @tokinblckgie me too

  • Shallow Hal brought me here =)

  • ive got Irritable Bowel Syndrome and was just thinking that Diarrhoea Flows (When My Rectum Blows)

  • My uncle used to constantly play this in his Landrover Discovery its his fault i love this song so much :)

  • @Toyotacamry1993 lead singer Tony Burrows was also the lead singer of "white plains" who released "my baby loves lovin", which kinda pales incomparison to this song

  • @mrterryb101 Ah right cheers i dint know about that. :)

  • i am 800!

  • Best feel good song of all time!

  • THIS SONG IS ABOUT WEED

  • @MrThuglifegangsta69

    No shit, Sherlock.

  • Because love grows, where my "Rosemary" goes & nobody knows it but me...

  • Little Manhattan brought me here, and I've never regretted it!

  • Love this song makes you feel great

  • @NiggerFunFacts thats probably the most fucked up and stupid thing i have ever heard.

  • This is the version I grew up with. The 3 or 4 other versions/mixes out there

    today suck.

  • I listen to this song and cry as I ask myself how in the world I could have gone so quickly from what seemed like carefree days of summer bike riding, fall hand holding with that cute little Strawberry perfumed girl sittin next to me on the bus named Jen, winter sledding and ice skating on the river, to the Acid Reflux that seems to own too much of my psyche and stomach?

  • @jeff62rey Omeprazole!!!

  • @jeff62rey

Sex was the bridge, fool! :-)

  • plus it makes me want to eat a bowl Captain Crunch

  • love bubblegum.always great writers and great studio musicians.

  • That was The Partridge Family's "Doesn't Somebody Want to be Wanted?", followed by Edison Lighthouse's "Love Grows where my Rosemary Goes" as K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70's weekend just keeps on... truckin'.

  • @CellarDoor06 That's why I'm here too lol

  • @NiggerFunFacts You are a disturbed individual. Why would you bother leaving such hateful fucked up comments??

  • Ridiculous to think that rap is ruining music, youth, or radio. What do you think rap artists were listening to when they were kids? They just took what they heard in another direction like metal artists went their own way.

Its funny that a generation that grew up hearing the words "Peace, love, and understanding." are here acting like angry old men on youtube channels.

  • @BowskiBig dude, so true. Ive been preaching this to the cranky geezers since 20 'ot 6! Haha, no, but seriously, we should hate upon rap because its different. We'd be just like our formers, who despised Rock 'N Roll because its "awful" and "ruining music". Its kinda annoying.

  • I'm so angry that the youth of america toons into like... KDON bullshit and think they know good music.. Sad when you're thinking of all the "classics" but they're only from the 90's.. guess its my first stages of gettin' old @ 25 lol. But they should shut down kdon. Its all mexifornia promotion anyway. fuckin' gross

  • I was chatting with a random stranger online and we talked about music and philosophy and life. It was an actual conversion, instead of, well, creepy internet people doing creepy things.. I accidentally closed the tab, but before that she mentioned this song, and for me it will always be a testament to unscripted wonder which is life.

  • and then came LED ZEPPLIN

  • i honestly am in love with this song...

  • 4 RAPPERS see this Song

  • Wow, talk about Flashbacks!

  • @niggerfunfacts5000 You're a disgusting human being.

  • @niggerfunfacts5000 im white but what you said about dark skinned people is absolutely unacceptable. The only 1 laughing is you

  • @niggerfunfacts5000 Not cool dude

  • i freaken love this song

  • A lot of the songs from the '60's were about sex and drugs. They just did a way better job at singing about them then nowadays. Kids just don't have the patience to listen and really hear the message. My favorite genre!!

  • ROFL this song is about smoking WEED!

  • Must be a UK group... look at them teeth

  • Thank you for sharing this magnificent song so wonderful so charming.

  • @NiggerFunFacts sort ya life out u chav, music is music, bet ur in to dr dre aint ya well we all like some of a different race so grow the fuk up!

  • IM FROM 1990's an this still best song going, love it!!

  • it sounds so innocent and... *good* compared to radio today. i hate to sound like a drag - heck, i wasn't born yet when this song happened. but... i think i'll put this tune on my son's iPod so it's somewhere in his subconscious when he experiences his first love in a few years.

  • @hraith Don't worry about sounding like a drag regarding 40 years ago music. It's inevitable that we sound like a drag, considering how much pop music has changed. 1969-1970 were two especially good years in Top 40 music. I was 12 when this song new on the radio. That was a good time to be a kid listening to the radio.

  • @57highland I could'nt agree with you more,sitting here as a 53 year old.

  • Thanks for posting this. My mum loved this track and it brings back fond memories growing up on London. She passed away last year. Not sure what that racist is on about but I'm black and music knows know color boundaries.

  • I love this song and it was number 1 when I was born

  • @NiggerFunFacts F**k off, you ignorant, racist c u next tuesday. Those pathetic comments are in very bad taste.

  • Strange - starts in A, ends in Bb.

  • Just watched Reservoir dogs again, and decided to find this song :) Glad I did

  • i love this song

  • LOVE GROWS WHERE MY ROSEMARY GOES....

well at some time at my hard times phases now i'm thinkin' about (and feeling), that i'm also a rosemary in my attitude ...

  • That was Edison Lighthouse's "Love Grows Where my Rosemary Goes". Before that, we heard the Partridge Family's "Doesn't Someone Want to be Wanted". Your'e listening to K-Billy's super sounds of the 70's, where the hits just keep on.... tru-cking!

  • Top 70's song, i remember it well !

  • Shallow Hal ftw!

  • my name is rosemary :3

  • This song just randomly came into my head today! I love it! :)

  • Ten years old and I was at the Lake for the weekend with my folks. There was this little 10 year old red head named Gloria three cabins down and though I couldn't have called it love, it was pre-teen puuppy crush kind of feelings that held me captive in those days. Gloria and I would hold hands, to the humor of both sets of parents, and we would hunt frogs, walk the back lanes, pet cows, and share a sweet little kiss on the lips that made us both feel ten feet tall and out of the world.

  • @jeff62rey awww how sweet(:

  • @jeff62rey Memories like those are too few and far between. You are a lucky fella!

  • @DemonWarp65 He is indeedy ... just like the guy in the classic song, "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" !!

  • @jeff62rey Long lost days, eh!

Kids do not necessarily grow up any quicker today than they did in 1970 - well, not significantly, at any rate. The press - and media in general - do have a propensity to exagerrate the "maturity" of today's generation of teenage (and pre-teenage) young people.

  • @jeff62rey

Dammit man, write a book, and I'll buy it!

  • @blardosplats I'm actually prepping to do just that. Just didn't know how many folks might be interested in this genre.

  • @jeff62rey wow young love what happened next?

  • @jeff62rey who gives a fuck?

  • I know this song from Shallow Hal

  • I wish I grew up in those days dontget me wrong the 90s were pretty good but the 60s 70s seem awesome

  • It's summer 1970 and I'm 12 years old. I have a $1 in my pocket, I'm riding my bike around Maplewood, New Jersey and I don't have a care in the world! Ans this song will forever be in the background.

  • @StPatrick1982 Those were the days, eh, my friend !!

(And $1 dollar was worth considerably more - in those days of 41 years ago - than it is now.)

  • Can't help but smile whenever I hear this song!

  • I may have been under the wrong impression. i could have sworn i heard a NY DJ say he sung Beach Baby & Sugar Sugar. If they're different people they sure sound alike, and sound real good! Remember, I grew up when this music was NEW, not over 40 years old.

  • amazing song thay dont make music like they used to x

  • I cnt lie to shows and movie brought me here now I LOVE IT! Resavoir dogs and The Sopranos

  • What a great tune :) Thanks For uploading

  • lol, my doggy likes this song. ^_^

  • *clicks 'replay' so many times she can't remember how many times she's listened to this song now*

  • Was just randomly humming this song in my head. Typed in the name Rosemary and found this song. ^_^

  • I love this song, and I usually listen to Dismember, Asphyx and Sarcastic Terror

  • He may have used a different stage name & been the same person. Ron Dante sang with at least 5 different groups in the 60's & & 76's ranging from Sugar Sugar with The Archies to Tracy with The Cuff Links to My Baby Loves Lovin with White Plains to Beach Baby with First Class. Very talented vocalist and I can almost guarantee he sang the lead in this one too.

  • @714AD Absolute 100% guaranteed fact, believe me, it's Tony Burrows,..............Ask him or ask Tony Macaulay or Barry Mason or Sylvan Mason.

  • I believe Ron Dante was doing the vocals.

  • @714AD It was Tony Burrows.

  • 4 people can't find their rosemarry

  • im 12 and I LOVE THIS MUSIC!!!!! What happened???

  • 4 people dont know where their love grows. .

  • none of those guys in the picture are actually singing this song! It's Tony Burrows.

  • Songs that had meaning, and one could understand the lyrics, and sing to.

What do we have today? mostly cRAP by bozo's that cannot put a song together, and they think they are artists. Bite my ass ... and he's outside with his head in the drinking trough) (still there are some exceptions, but not many)

  • First record I ever bought omg a very long time ago!

  • I love this song. One good song

  • One of my favorites of all times

  • One of my favorites

  • Man, I love Shallow Hal.

  • @KKME771277 Agreed.

  • Nothing better than "orchestrated" Top 40 Music. Sounds a bit like the Wrecking Crew in the background?

  • MAKES ME WANT TO GO OUT AND BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF RAPPERS...

  • @HedgeYbet

    Don't leave without me! lol

  • @HedgeYbet not only beat the sh*t out of rappers, but to beat some common sense into this whole technologically brilliant and socially inept generation.

  • @HedgeYbet Yeah...or just enjoy the song, and let them do their thing.

  • here here strategery....we are hoping there is a new era of great and lovely music on the way soon

  • Can remember running around and dancing to this song when I was small - love it!

  • sweet song, makes me feel nice and optimistic

  • @lucas070798

Okay, but why does it have to be on the radio to like it? My father worked in radio and used to bring

me home quite a few DJ copies of 45's and LP's in the early to late 60's. Some of these recordings

I got never made it on the air, and I loved them anyway. I don't think in our lifetime....we'll ever hear

this type of music on the radio ever again. The melody just went out of music for good, it seems.

  • lol gotta love that hair!

  • This isn't a 60's song, it was recorded in 1971 (by the one hit wonder British band Edison Light House).

  • @rlrba It was actually recorded in late 69 & released Jan 1970.

  • @Stuartedison Yes, that is absolutely correct, Stuart. That guy - or woman - who claimed that it was recorded in 1971 is an ignorant, irritating git. (Or maybe just a wind-up merchant).

  • @rlrba nooooo really it only says that in the description

  • @clevelandindians2482 I assume then that you can't read?

  • @clevelandindians2482 You are fooling no one, you muppet.

  • fun bouncey tune....

  • shut the fuck up no body cares how old u are just sit back some some weed listen to the music and have fun :)

  • @xlr528owns ur an idot

  • @xlr528owns Where are your manners? Did they vanish in the haze?

And one more thing; you should NOT be encouraging a 12-year-old to smoke marijuana. Shame on you ... SIR.

  • @TheEctomorph hey ever heard of fucking your self?

  • lol i was sent from Shallow Hal ;]

  • edison lh was a group of session musos just got together as pals to record this song,i think they did a great job of a good song!

  • I love 60's music!

  • resivar dogs

  • I love how this was considered pop but my friends call it emo. Shows how bad pop music is getting these days

  • i dont understand how people could even click the dislike bar on this song. wtf!?

  • I'm 14 and I love all of these older songs <33

They are so much better than the songs of this day...

Songs back then had so much meaning

  • Love<3

  • LOL @ the guy on the far left.

  • im 2 years old and this is my favorite song i was totally born in the wrong time period...
