  • "after total rebuild by FTTC Automotive Department instructor" OK then.. I guess I know what your knowledge level is.

First start genius...after a rebuild.... crank to build oil pressure with no FIRE!

WOW who in the Fcuk are these guys? A shame really... take a "unicorn Motor" like that and have someone like " backyard bob" mucking around with it...a true shame.

  • These assholes make rednecks look like rocket scientist!!

Billy Joe & Bobby Ray are trying to figure out how the spark plug goes in the exhaust manifold!

  • I remember the 340's were designed strictly for small block power, to allow Dodge/Plymouth entry into the T/A. So they produced a small block that was under 355 inches or so just like Ford, GM, and I think AMC , for eligibility into the Trans-Am.

And the true "Baby Hemis" were the 331, 354,and the 392 . I think I'm missing one though except the venerable 426 Hemi. I liked those dual spark plugged Hemis, pretty rare though.I gotta pic of a 4 x 4 bbl Mopar crossram intake if any of you's int. ?

  • big bore short stroke, 340s could haul.

  • I didn't know that.I was just mentioning that the 340 was called The Baby Hemi because it could very easily run with the big block competiton from 1968-1973.

  • The 340 was also known as "The Baby Hemi"!!!!!!

  • Actually the early dodge and desoto hemis were the baby hemis

  • @moparrules1968 or "Baby 440's"

  • man you dont start a fully rebuilt engine and rev it up thats a good way to have it to start raddlen my dad would kick my ass if i did that to his new rebuilt engine

  • technically you don't let them idle either because the cam won't get broke in properly about 300 rpm for 20 minutes will do the trick

  • 3000 rpm sorry typo

  • thought mopars had slant front loaded dizzy!

  • that must have been great, start then kill, wow, no tune, cant let it heat up, that was about pointless

  • hell yeah 340= big block killer!
