I pray that I have the courage and merits to have such wonderful devotion for one's Lama in this and future lives just like the way HE Tsem Tulku RInpoche has for his own Lama, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche.
What a moving story of real Guru devotion and may I have the great fortunate to have that devotion and serve my Guru with such sincerity. When Rinpoche talks about Guru devotion, it is not theory by real practice. Therefore Gurus For Hire Enlightenment has many great insights for all of us.
Tsem Rinpoche shows how he himself served his own gurus and include the translator, assistants and the guests.. he done that to make sure he idn't mis-represents his guru... so so touching how he wanted to take the left overs of his root guru...so much devotion...
to be able to remember your Guru, who has shown you so much care and kindness in putting up with your shortcomings, tolerating with your ego and stuborness and having to work with you fron the ground up. And yet for all these effort and patience the Guru asks for nothing in return except for you to transform your mind. This kindness cannot be repaid easily and to cry when thinking about this shows that Rinpoche really appreciates his Guru. tsemtulku(dot)com
A moment of rejoicing and great positive action! "The Guru Devotion" - without this practice there is no enlightenment. Thank you Tsem Rinpoche for sharing your goodies - especially these days.
I have done the eating of a beloved's left-overs, too, same spirit ... love, respect and joy. I had never heard a similar experience before. Also the tears ...Thank you for sharing this Love!
I think for many westerners this level of dedication (dare I say worship?) of a person is unusual, if not disturbing. I don't necessarily think so. This level of dedication is definitely quite selfless.
Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was a Dorje Shugden practitioner all his life.

@Varavaken In Kechara Dorje Shugden is not practiced. The current Zong Rinpoche is in Gaden and also does not practice Dorje Shugden.

Because you have received advice, whenever you are not meditating always practice in accordance with what your Spiritual Guide says.

The ending of this was very touching. Rinpoche you have now made me laugh and cry.
One question how is your relationship with Your Guru's reincarnation affect your missing of your master?
