Okay i didnt read all the comments, BUT this joke is from The West Wing. It´s from POST Aaron Sorkin West Wing! Amy Gardner told it to Josh Lyman in season 5. The first joke that is, with the Jewish guy.
Though i do like this whole thing very much. Just thought it was an odd coincidence. Maybe it was Aaron Sorkins joke and he was pissed they used it on WW after he left lol.
Sarah Paulson is the most underrated actress I know. The first time I saw her was in the movie "Down With Love" and although I didn't know about her then, she did strike me as a hell of a good actress.
She looks pretty good getting butchered by Reavers in the Serenity movie. Sorry; I hated her character in studio 60 with the fires of a thousand suns, but that's a testimony to her acting ability, I guess.
There's just something about Christians, or any devout religious follower. Maybe it's because, from their point of view, they really do have all the answers, which gives them an aura of smug superiority I find extremely irritating.
@ChelseaVL Couldn't agree more! She gave a really first-rate supporting performance alongside David Hyde Pierce and Renee Zellweger in a film that was a spot-on recreation of those cheesy '60s romantic comedies starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day, only done with today's more liberal tolerance for sexual innuendo. And she smokes a mean cigarette throughout the film, ala Mad Men.

It's really funny...but the show was so poorly edited both in video and character lines that it just failed to be funny in anything EXCEPT retrospect :S
That's definitely true. She's dated writer Aaron Sorkin, and she appeared on the 700 club to promote an album of Christian music. That's practically all the evidence one needs. The whole show was essentially Sorkin venting about his relationship with Chenoweth, and peppering the story with notable events that happened throughout the history of Saturday Night Live.
wow. that's really interesting. i had no idea. love the show. he must still like Cheno quite a bit 'cuz i think Harriet's painted in a very good light on the show, whatever you're take on "religion."
come to think of it, pretty much all of the main characters are very likeable - even Jack. i LOVE Jack! he fucking kicks so much ass in that episode where he tells off the asian father in their misunderstanding over "honor." absolutely kicks ass.
hahah im sry for commenting this again but it is sooo funny lol "its like watchin a drunkin man cross an icey street" "no body here knows how to operate an umbrella" hahaha great stuff

Lol, I laughed my ass off. Hell, sometimes I sound worse than Harriet whenever I try to recount anything, let alone a joke.

1:50 is so funny. I love how desperate she sounds to get the joke right. What a great show

I heard that Harriet was based off of Cheno.
Cheno can tell a joke.
*files under the same category as Harriet's stance on gay rights*
Still damn funny.

Oh for sure. It's painfully obvious, if you're in the Cheno loop, but for Studio 60 fans it probably not so obvious.
Cheno's just a better person than Harriet though, imo.

She was. Apparantly with Victoria Jackson or something, from SNL sprinkled in to make it not Cheno part deux, and some creativity of course.

I met someone with a similar problem the first year on the Comedy and Sketch Writing course at the university.
He was an excellent writer though. :)
Great episode. A real pity that NBC canceled the series. It was like 'The White House' in show business. :)
