we shouldnt send westerners to fight there! They've attacked the west? Lets bomb them and kick "risky" populations out of the west! These guys dont deserve our boys to die for them!
I can't wait to join the military! Everyday I see more and more of how selfish people are and it fucking makes me sick. I love my country and what it stands for but some of the people here are just so damn stupid! I can't wait to become something bigger than myself and live not just for me but for the brothers by my side
@ShadowWoods Since who invaded ? Do you mean NATO ? Its not just the USA thats in this war pal, soliders from other countrys are also fighting and dying out there!
What a clusterfuck. Poor Marines. That branch is destined to eat America's shit sandwiches for eternity so the regular public doesn't have to. We're sending some of our best human beings over there to die for our national interests, and for the ungrateful local mass.
This was really a great doc. I have a lot of respect for documentarians like these, who head to the frontline in spite of the danger. Put themselves in unknown danger. Anyone seen Hell and Back Again? Danfung Dennis uses this same style. bit. ly/yYsv5o
I dont know if anyone watches Bomb Patrol: Afghanistan on discovery channel but i swear one of the bomb patrol men from that show is in this documentary.the man im talking about states "thats the money shot", after detonating an IED.can anyone confirm?
@SistersYourHusband haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha you hurt? Your feelings have been shaken up? My dear family are not from this country you fuck, although I served in the beloved Marine Corps but not for you people, what have your done for your USA? Nothing? Carry on fuck...
i was doing marine commando training at lympstone commando, devon england summer 86
one day as we were roaring back to the changing block we heard the loudest shouting and noise coming up from the block, we thought what the fuck is that, we went in and it was a bunch of u.s.marines, doing the commando training i think, the second they saw us they went utterly silent, we looked at each other for a sec before one of them put out a hand and said hello, what a fucking great bunch they were, go usa !
Any person who thinks that U.N. coalition forces don't deserve credit or support for fighting the oppressive scum fucks who kill the people of their own land is either more ignorant than a teenage girl living in beverly hills or is a complete disgrace to society. The Taliban and other insurgent fighting forces in the middle east would never risk their lives for anyone but themselves. So they kill women, children, and the brave men and women of the coalition forces. I have no respect for those c
poor american soldiers...tricked into actually believing that they make a difference, delivering justice and bullshit when all they ever do is fighting for the big contractors and multinational companies..its sad really..
@djreal1 you must be retarded. the, "poor american soilders" killed osamba bin ladan, won all the wars that we were in, and guaranteed the safety of all americans...
@pjpeppers guaranteed the safety of all americans..otherwise the iraqi and afghans would invade the states? right...besides wars are not won on the battlefield, u should 've known better than that. This war has cost tremendous tax payers dollars to be spent so oil companies and contractors such as haliburton to make huge profits while you and your buddies are getting killed for nothing. Open your eyes..
it seems like alot of young soldiers are DUMB AND IGNORANT, they always talk about HOW they hate civilians haha, CIVILIANS MAKE MY UNIFORMS AND AMMO AND GUNS MOST IMPORTANTLY THE FOOD, be humble but not dumb and ignorant, NEVER FORGET AMERICAS PAST,
@DANKYDAN93 I am a Marine you fuck, fucking rock, and let me tell you fat fuck, I graduated fro graduate school in Criminology and work with dumb ass civilians who have resentment toward service men.
@doinworksonnnnn He got beheadded.. By the Taliban most likely. NOT us. You must be some kind of illiterate dumbass. We don't behead people, those scumbag terroristic fucks over in that shithole of a sandbox do...
"whatever the president needs us to .. will be what we do" .... this leader will tell his men to open fire on us citizens .. because this is what the president told him to do. NDAA look it up.
@sKKKKKKKKK You do realize that Martial Law could always be declared in an emergency. and it has watts, detriot, during the 60s riots. and if you were out after dark during martial law you could be shot no questions asked until civil order restored
I believe you can tell how good or bad a country is by what they do to the enemy POWs. America is still the most moral country on earth. Americans don't fire unless fired upon, nor perform extreme acts of torture, They don't behead their enemies, nor do they hang corpses all around as trophies. It's unfortunate that locals get killed, but in a war that's inevitable. Loved the documentary because it showed the humanitarian, compassionate side. GOD BLESS OUR SOLDERS & USA.
@fishwin100 and why not Sniper school graduates also have the same inf training there engageing targets of opourtunity. you just wouldnt be holed up in a hide snipers and there spotter could fire and manuver with any one of the platoons fire teams
2500 $ for 1 liffe...... i'm thinking those "taliban" are just people trying to fight off an invading enemy...that's what i would do, kill for your family and country,or be killed!
@MysteryMixes Afgan war is for a reason. All the shit terorists did to the US and her allies. If you dont like it get the fuck off your omputer and go fight for the taliiban.
When it comes to your life, treating him like a dog was the absolute right thing to do. Civilians should never be allowed to see these videos just because they will never understand.
@MrChiznut Served my time in the Afghan and did it training ANA. If you don't press them forward they will, a majority of the time, stand by and let you do all the work. You have to press them forward. You can't mosy in when you do a cordon and search. You get in quick so more people can have access to cover the area. Otherwise it just turns into a fatal funnel and anyone coming in gets killed.
All so some fuck face like you can run his fucking mouth about shit he knows nothing about. Let me get this strait. You have never known what the word honor means, nor the word you used "Countrymen" You have not a clue what any of us went thru over there. All people like you do is abuse the rights that people like me paid for. We paid with are friends, our blood are very lives, just so you can run you're fucking mouth about shit you can't even imagine to understand.
@thepatchguy4949 I know that if someone invaded my land - I would kill them. I do not stand up for criminals who invaded someone else's land. These men did not protect my rights. And you misspelled straight, through, and misused the proper form of are. AllahuAkbar.
How could we expect Iraq and Afghanistan to keep themselves protected when these Iraqi soldiers are clearly incapable of following even the simple command of "sit down" which they repeatedly had to tell him before he complied. If all the Taliban were that stupid the war would have been finished years ago, and many lives would've been saved. Theres also the possibility that the Afghan security force could just let the Taliban re enter the city after Bravo is relocated to somewhere else.
If your in the service and thinking of getting out to get contractor job realize that you will be working 12-16 hours a day and wont have the benefits that you have in the service such as medical care or your gi life ins policy to take care of your family if you dont make it. also if your a contractor and get hurt you dont get medical retirement if you cant work at same leval anymore.
Thanks for posting. To the young that plan to serve get trained in a feild that will let you make a living when you get out. my family has strong army and navy tradition. but when it came to my own step son I told him to join the airforce and learn something besides using small arms. hes a computter programer making 80,000 a year now. were most i ever made was $22hr
im going to ask this not as an attack, but because i simlply dont understand, marines are held in higher esteem than army guys, but on the battlefield how are they better? i dont really see how, it seems like in modern wars its harder to be superior than your enemy, but then again im just a civilian, i dont understand these things, so i would appreciate if someone could explain, i know they have different tasks and they do different things but, is it people just talking shit or what is it?
BS. I served as a Infantryman in the Corps before getting out for about three years. After being bored with civie life for some time I decided to go back in (still am). The Army offered me Ranger school and the ability to maintain my previous rank from the Marines and thus, I chose the Army. I can put Army and Marine grunts next to each other and you'll never be able to tell the difference. Might wanna keep your supposed "expertise" to yourself.
@USMCG0811 All I was saying was that they are trained a bit longer. I respect you for defending me, but you don't respect people like me or anyone else watching even though you protect them? I didn't mean any offense to you what so ever and you jump to the defensive like someone has a knife at your throat
That is one the most off the wall responses I think I've ever. I never insinuated or wrote anything in the context of that diatribe you just posted. What I did say, I hope you're following here; is that your statement contains absolutely no factual element other than that our training is longer. "Marines are more frontline than the army is", is a rather stupid remark and has no bearing in reality. Tracking now?
@USMCG0811 Okay. I wrote a 2 sentence comment that is wrong. You could have simply corrected me with another 2 sentence comment. Or you could have told him the right answer with a 2 sentence comment. 2 sentences was all you needed to write, but apparently you feel like going the whole nine yards and writing about 5 just because you like to show off.
Show off, how old are you? This is not some nana nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo infantile comment fest. I countered your factually wrong, inconsistent, and wholly inaccurate statement in a coherent manner. You on the other hand did the opposite, enjoyed a nice little tangent, albeit for a moment, and then insinuated that I am somehow "showing off". It might be in your best interest to think before making such a uninformed comment next time. Grow up, mate.
@USMCG0811 "Grow up." " Keep your expertise to yourself" "Tracking now?" Right... You are QUITE the gentlemen. And which one of us types a paragraph in response to someone who got their information mixed up? I think it was you...
@USMCG0811 In the case of rangers or airborne forces I would agree with you. but if you were going on patroll and you had to pick who you wanted with you you would pick solders who also had ranger tab.
@Airsoft762 basic training in the army is 8weeks marines is 13weeks but advanced infantry training is the same. for example the k-9 handler school at frort sam in texas trains all service branches. combat experiance is combat experiance regardless. no one thats made sgt would want to go back to being a pvt or go through basic training again once is enough
@Airsoft762 Basic Training is longer in the Marines But Infantry training advanced individual training for 11B is verry similar. Marines are an offinsive force they perfer to be on the attack and dont like fighting defensive battles. Kae sahn the Marines fought that battle cause Army gen Westmooreland didnt give them a choice the marines would have perfered continueing the cap programe providing security to the population and agressivly patrolling to find fix and destroy the NVA wearever he was
@Airsoft762 The Army traditionaly has newer equipment and plenty of it the Marines have often fought with cast off Army Equipment and adapted it to there needs the Marine armorers took the M14 and fixed a problem the army claimed the weapon had by providing meticulous care of the weapon. sometimes the Marines fight on shear guts and willpower
@UserAccountNames there are only aprox 100,000 marines The marines train to hit man sized targets at 500 yards with iron sights or at least they used to. Army Airborne troops also have a more elete status than say regular leg infantry. ranger tab in the army is indication that the man has graduated ranger school which is a leadership course thats verry phisycaly demanding you live on 2-4 hours sleep for few weeks but if you graduate you have learned to dig down and keep going to get missiondone
@sass225 thanks for the answer, and i dont know sometimes it seems like marines get alot more credit than army guys, i heard that marine training is longer because of water training and because they teach them to act like marines, once again i have nooo cule of what the reality is, im just curious and i appreciate all the info i could get on this.
@UserAccountNames The Marines teach the history of the corps. they teach pride in being a member in an organization that goes back to 1775 at tun tavern when the first US Marines were recuited to fight abord ship. The Soviet version of Marines was Naval Infantry. Airborne troops like the 82nd airborne train to fight battles were they will be outnumbered and surrounded they dont have m1 tanks and such with them till they seize an airfeild and transports bring them heavier weapons.
@UserAccountNames The Marine Corps is the only branch of the U.S. armed forces that recruits people specifically to fight. The Army emphasizes personal development (an army of one), the Navy promises fun (let the journey begin), and the Air Force offers security (it's a great way of life). Missing from all of these advertisements is the hard fact that it is a soldier's trade to suffer and perhaps to die for his country, and to take lives at the risk of his own.
@UserAccountNames Every Marine is a rifleman first and foremost, a Marine first, last and always. The modern battle requires the technical appliances, But no Marine brags perfection of them. Our pride is in our marksmanship, our discipline, and our membership in a fraternity of courage and sacrifice. The tradition of the corps and belonging to that unbroken line of warriors gives the marines there can do attitude semper fidelus always faithful.
@UserAccountNames Really thats an individual thing Iv worked with some members of the 82nd and 101st and they are highly motivated people there training is verry good.
but again para troopers and air assult are designed to be on the attack even though the 101st most famous battle was the defense of bastonge para troopers are trained to expect to be out numbered and to fight agressivly to overcome this.
@UserAccountNames If your thinking of Joining the military. I'll be Honest you won't get rich in the military but the healthcare benifits,30 paid days off a year.and retirement if you stay 20 as well as the training that they pay you to take. and the friends you make.
The thing I liked the best was feeling a part of something more important than myself. these days finding any job with benifits is hard to do without advanced training.
@UserAccountNames Any one of the service branches including the coast guard is a way for a young man thats not got the money for college to get an education. you can go while your in. The one friend iv had since I was 3months old he joined airforce in 91 got out after he got married and went back in after 9/11 hes a master sgt now and working on his BA. but hes a trained crew chief he could go to saudi as a aircraft mechanic as a contractor or work for any airline
@UserAccountNames My own step son he joined the airforce made sgt in 8 years got out as a computer programer and works as contractor for DoD making $80,000year. He also got cross trained in security police work his last year he enjoyed the training. but Im glad he didn't have to do convoy escort duty. rolling down the road at 40-50mph waiting to get hit sucks.
@UserAccountNames Pick which ever branch that lets you get the training you want. but have a plan of what do I do if I can't be a [Soldier/Marine/Salior/Airman] anymore. no one gets to be one forever and if you get hurt you can fight to stay in but sometimes your not physicaly able to do the job you did previously. so you might teach others to help keep them alive
@UserAccountNames elite military units such as special operations forces have "high morale" due to both their training and pride in their unit.an airbore unit has the same high espirt de corps that a marine has. I hope I was able to help
@sass225 yeah you helped alot, thank you so much, i hope you dont mind if i ask what are differences of the marksmanship, somene mentioned that marines trained with iron sights, what other qualities do you think that set the marines appart from the the regular army unit,
@UserAccountNames currently the marines issue an advanced cambat optical gunsight
the ACOG it magnifies by 3x were as the red dot sight that the army uses does not magnify I have not used the acog but have used red dot and it allows you to acquire target faster than iron sights once trained to use them. The Marine corps is much smaller than the army theres 1st and second marine division that are active duty with 3rd mar div the reserves
@bumfighter888 each of these divisions along with their supporting air wing and logistical support group have grown into a massive 38,000 man Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). These three MEFs are too large to rapidly deploy, so the Corps plans to deploy them in 16,000 man components called Marine Expeditionary Brigades (MEB)s. Is this still current information I havn't keept up since Before Marsoc
@bumfighter888 The Marines are deployed with everything they need to fight the army didnt think tanks would be able to operate in vietnam but the politicians didnt check toe to see that marines deployed with there own tanks until after the marines were commited to defend airfeilds around danang. the army blackhorse regiment 11th acr did yeoman service there as well.
@UserAccountNames and Airbonrne Unit like the 82nd or 101 air assault have a proud history dating back to ww2 and there fighting spirt is in my opinion every bit as good as marines. although I admit being biased toward marines.
The two services have an initial training phase for recruits. The Army calls this phase Basic Combat Training (BCT) while the Marines call their program Recruit Training (RT). On the whole, RT has slightly higher physical-fitness standards. Marine recruits have to run three miles on their test as opposed to the Army's two. The Army uses sit-ups as opposed to the Marine Corps' crunches.
@UserAccountNames The Army's culminating event is the Night Infiltration Course (NIC). During NIC, recruits run obstacle courses, conduct road matches and move under live machine-gun fire. It is meant to incorporate all their training into one exercise. After NIC, recruits receive their battle coin and are then formally considered soldiers
@UserAccountNames For the Marines, the Crucible is the final exercise. It is more physically exerting because of its length (56 hours) and the lack of food and sleep the recruits must endure. After the Crucible, recruits go through the Eagle, Globe and Anchor Ceremony. This emblem signals their successful completion of RT, and receiving it finally allows recruits to call themselves Marines
@UserAccountNames Soldiers who enlist in the Army have their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) stated in their contract. This means that as long as they complete basic training on schedule, a seat is reserved for them at the preferred school. In the Marine, specific MOSs are not guaranteed. Marine Corp MOSs are grouped into Occupational Fields. For example, someone who wants to be a Combat Engineer (1317) can only be guaranteed the OccField 13
History dictates that there is no way in hell anyone is ever going to take Afghanistan and control it. The British tried, the Indians tried, the Mongols tried, the Russians tried, and now the "Coalition of the Willing." But it won't work. "The only thing Afghans hate more then themselves, is everyone else."
Why am i reading there are Children an Civilians that have been killed in Iraq... The Mental state of alot of these White men are not even close to okay they constantly on something weather ciggerettes or Alcohol ... give it power an we see what happens its Sad.. no not all of them but alot of them...
@sassy2161 ranger is part of special operations and is one of the united states militarys best marsoc, recon, ranger, special forces, swcc, and navy seals are all more elite than just a standard grunt in the marines or army
@sassy2161 marines are a branch of the military (like navy, army, or airforce), "rangers" are army special forces units. Rangers are just a form of special forces, above "airborne", and below "delta". rangers, by definition, are more "elite" (as they are above the average army grunt). Marines are nothing to shake a stick at though, they're basic training is tougher.
@sassy2161 Ranger is a leadership school. alot of folks graduate ranger school and return to there unit were they train there unit in the lessons that they have learned. Delta is top of army in training to fight then regular sf which train to advise and train indigionous people. people who have graduated ranger school have failed the sf q coarse there is no shame in it the wash out rate is high many fail due to gettingan injury sprained or broken ankle ect.
@sassy2161 .Fort Benning has two basic training brigades, the 192nd Infantry Brigade and the 198th Infantry Brigade. Both are charged with turning civilians into Soldiers, but the 192nd trains for nine weeks and the 198th trains for 14 weeks, . This means their Soldiers complete both basic combat training and the follow-on advanced individual training (AIT) all at Fort Benning
@mackietac well I just turned 17 actually recently so I'm hoping i will tell my parents by summer than they can start signing papers do I can get the job I want early
Woa u are on probation? Dude that's gonna hurt your chances
@Kepachodude Nice, haven't talked to a recruiter yet, bcuz i'm on probation and getting of in April, thats when i'll enlist.....what time this year u enlisting?
Agh.... all forces should just get out of afghanistan... I'm no soldier but watching this documentary already makes me feel like crap about how the population don't really care about being helped and from my understanding their culture is too diverse to impose "help" on them so if they want to be left alone we should do so... Soldiers died trying to help this country and the moment the soldiers leave their influence disappears so it's obviously not worth the lives of the troops over there...
@RobbyStef The taliban manly come from the pushtun tribe 40% of the population. If we just leave and the taliban retake control of most of thecountry as they never had the whole thing themselves. thats why there was a northern alliance that we supported with air and special forces advisors and were able to through the taliban out of power as fast as happened.
U all are bunch of fucking pussies if u have a complaint bout what there doing out there for us and the afghans go to the complaint box
Other than that go back to playing call of duty u faggots
U ppl piss me the fucked off if u don't like this country than move cuz ppl like u slow this country down and make no contributions to the country, these marines make all the contributions and they show no emotions because they deal with shit like this everyday so it rubbs off on them
@Kepachodude feel the same way,....they sittin from their warm living rooms and talking shit....it hurts to hear ppl talking shit bout the marines and not appreciating them, especially i'm trying to enlist next year
@Stupidwarthog good guys my ass, you watch too much gi joe as a kid. Cpl Hillis is an ignorant fuck, can you really trust americans? you gotta be kidding me. While your friends get shot up and you invade foreign lands and lose your mind from all the bs you've been taught, war profiteers are on the beaches of Panama surrounded by hot women after cashing in on their defense investments. And guess who they are? usually americans and Europeans.
i can honestly say the marines didn't do shit positive on their tour. Not helping the locals and killing wifes and childrens WTF ! And then he is saying sorry like he really care and you can tell on the LT. face he doesn't care. For him to understand what that man is going through would to kill the LT.'s wife and kids and give him 10,000 and see how he feels. I respect the troops but this battalion is full of pussys killing wifes and kids thats a shame
@shadowwolfHITSQUADtv yeah you are right they didn't even give a shit when the 3 marines where hit, they showed no emotion, and the way they treated the Afghan soldier was kind of like with racist no as a race but as a nationality type of racism. but then again what everyone forgets is that many USA prisoners where given a choice ether the military for freedom (2 to 3) or prison for a few years (6 to 9,10,12) most of them join and where are they right now??? take a guess
Wrong. That hasn't been a option for a very long time. Furthermore, individuals that were given that option were non violent offenders i.e., DWI's, juvenile crimes, and the like. This practice was deemed unconstitutional almost three decades ago. Thanks for the giant run-on sentence with vomitous proofing. I have a headache just looking at it.
@xballencacherx during veitnam men were often given the chioce of jail or the military by the judge. todays military however will not take you if you have a serious record. our military today is an all volunter force. while engaged they continued the mission as u have to in order to survive wtf did you expect them to do stop fighting and have a good cry? latter once in a realativly safe area they might but in the feild you continue mission or others will die.
@shadowwolfHITSQUADtv they didnt kill thouse children on purpose its not like you are two uniformed armies facing each other the taliban and al-queda fight from the villiages bullets do go through walls and sometimes innocent people get hit thats the nature of war the civilians are caught in the middle always
HAHA Afghanistan civilians hate the Americans. And Mohammad was beheaded. Not surprising. I mean, he did told te Taliban to gonduck themselves and fuck their moms.
This is BS! What the heck is a "condolence payment"? If The Police in the U.S. killed four members of a family by "mistake", would the Police pay only $10,000? Total BS!!!!!
I was with the only army unit there during the initial strike on marjeh, we were there to put a couple of bridges over some of the canals that surrounded and ran through the city.

Theres also the possibility that the Afghan security force could just let the Taliban re enter the city after Bravo is relocated to somewhere else.

im going to ask this not as an attack, but because i simlply dont understand, marines are held in higher esteem than army guys, but on the battlefield how are they better? i dont really see how, it seems like in modern wars its harder to be superior than your enemy, but then again im just a civilian, i dont understand these things, so i would appreciate if someone could explain, i know they have different tasks and they do different things but, is it people just talking shit or what is it?

@UserAccountNames They are trained longer and better than Standard army infantry. Also Marines are more frontline than the army is. Hope that helps.

@Airsoft762
USMCG0811 1 month ago
@USMCG0811 All I was saying was that they are trained a bit longer. I respect you for defending me, but you don't respect people like me or anyone else watching even though you protect them? I didn't mean any offense to you what so ever and you jump to the defensive like someone has a knife at your throat
Airsoft762 1 month ago
@Airsoft762
USMCG0811 1 month ago
@USMCG0811 Okay. I wrote a 2 sentence comment that is wrong. You could have simply corrected me with another 2 sentence comment. Or you could have told him the right answer with a 2 sentence comment. 2 sentences was all you needed to write, but apparently you feel like going the whole nine yards and writing about 5 just because you like to show off.

Show off, how old are you? This is not some nana nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo infantile comment fest. I countered your factually wrong, inconsistent, and wholly inaccurate statement in a coherent manner. It might be in your best interest to think before making such a uninformed comment next time. Grow up, mate.

@Airsoft762 basic training in the army is 8weeks marines is 13weeks but advanced infantry training is the same. for example the k-9 handler school at frort sam in texas trains all service branches. combat experiance is combat experiance regardless. no one thats made sgt would want to go back to being a pvt or go through basic training again once is enough
sass225 1 month ago
@Airsoft762 Basic Training is longer in the Marines But Infantry training advanced individual training for 11B is verry similar. Marines are an offinsive force they perfer to be on the attack and dont like fighting defensive battles. Kae sahn the Marines fought that battle cause Army gen Westmooreland didnt give them a choice the marines would have perfered continueing the cap programe providing security to the population and agressivly patrolling to find fix and destroy the NVA wearever he was
sass225 1 month ago
@Airsoft762 The Army traditionaly has newer equipment and plenty of it the Marines have often fought with cast off Army Equipment and adapted it to there needs the Marine armorers took the M14 and fixed a problem the army claimed the weapon had by providing meticulous care of the weapon. sometimes the Marines fight on shear guts and willpower
sass225 1 month ago
@UserAccountNames there are only aprox 100,000 marines The marines train to hit man sized targets at 500 yards with iron sights or at least they used to. Army Airborne troops also have a more elete status than say regular leg infantry. ranger tab in the army is indication that the man has graduated ranger school which is a leadership course thats verry phisycaly demanding you live on 2-4 hours sleep for few weeks but if you graduate you have learned to dig down and keep going to get missiondone
sass225 1 month ago
@sass225 thanks for the answer, and i dont know sometimes it seems like marines get alot more credit than army guys, i heard that marine training is longer because of water training and because they teach them to act like marines, once again i have nooo cule of what the reality is, im just curious and i appreciate all the info i could get on this.
UserAccountNames 1 month ago
@UserAccountNames The Marines teach the history of the corps. they teach pride in being a member in an organization that goes back to 1775 at tun tavern when the first US Marines were recuited to fight abord ship. The Soviet version of Marines was Naval Infantry. Airborne troops like the 82nd airborne train to fight battles were they will be outnumbered and surrounded they dont have m1 tanks and such with them till they seize an airfeild and transports bring them heavier weapons.
sass225 1 month ago
@UserAccountNames The Marine Corps is the only branch of the U.S. armed forces that recruits people specifically to fight. The Army emphasizes personal development (an army of one), the Navy promises fun (let the journey begin), and the Air Force offers security (it's a great way of life). Missing from all of these advertisements is the hard fact that it is a soldier's trade to suffer and perhaps to die for his country, and to take lives at the risk of his own.
sass225 1 month ago
@UserAccountNames Every Marine is a rifleman first and foremost, a Marine first, last and always. The modern battle requires the technical appliances, But no Marine brags perfection of them. Our pride is in our marksmanship, our discipline, and our membership in a fraternity of courage and sacrifice. The tradition of the corps and belonging to that unbroken line of warriors gives the marines there can do attitude semper fidelus always faithful.

but again para troopers and air assult are designed to be on the attack even though the 101st most famous battle was the defense of bastonge para troopers are trained to expect to be out numbered and to fight agressivly to overcome this.

@sass225 yeah you helped alot, thank you so much, i hope you dont mind if i ask what are differences of the marksmanship, somene mentioned that marines trained with iron sights, what other qualities do you think that set the marines appart from the the regular army unit,
UserAccountNames 1 month ago
@UserAccountNames currently the marines issue an advanced cambat optical gunsight
the ACOG it magnifies by 3x were as the red dot sight that the army uses does not magnify I have not used the acog but have used red dot and it allows you to acquire target faster than iron sights once trained to use them. The Marine corps is much smaller than the army theres 1st and second marine division that are active duty with 3rd mar div the reserves

@bumfighter888 each of these divisions along with their supporting air wing and logistical support group have grown into a massive 38,000 man Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). Is this still current information I havn't keept up since Before Marsoc
sass225 1 month ago
@bumfighter888 The Marines are deployed with everything they need to fight the army didnt think tanks would be able to operate in vietnam but the politicians didnt check toe to see that marines deployed with there own tanks until after the marines were commited to defend airfeilds around danang. the army blackhorse regiment 11th acr did yeoman service there as well.

Fitness Training SchoolArmy Military
Physical Standards

After NIC, recruits receive their battle coin and are then formally considered soldiers
sass225 1 week ago

@UserAccountNames For the Marines, the Crucible is the final exercise. It is more physically exerting because of its length (56 hours) and the lack of food and sleep the recruits must endure. This emblem signals their successful completion of RT, and receiving it finally allows recruits to call themselves Marines

This means that as long as they complete basic training on schedule, a seat is reserved for them at the preferred school. In the Marine, specific MOSs are not guaranteed. sassy2161 2 months ago
@sassy2161 ranger is part of special operations and is one of the united states militarys best marsoc, recon, ranger, special forces, swcc, and navy seals are all more elite than just a standard grunt in the marines or army
wtfnotorious 1 month ago
@sassy2161 marines are a branch of the military (like navy, army, or airforce), "rangers" are army special forces units. Rangers are just a form of special forces, above "airborne", and below "delta". rangers, by definition, are more "elite" (as they are above the average army grunt). Marines are nothing to shake a stick at though, they're basic training is tougher.
nexusmaxis1 1 month ago
@sassy2161 Ranger is a leadership school. alot of folks graduate ranger school and return to there unit were they train there unit in the lessons that they have learned. Delta is top of army in training to fight then regular sf which train to advise and train indigionous people. people who have graduated ranger school have failed the sf q coarse there is no shame in it the wash out rate is high many fail due to gettingan injury sprained or broken ankle ect.
sass225 1 month ago
@sassy2161 .Fort Benning has two basic training brigades, the 192nd Infantry Brigade and the 198th Infantry Brigade. Both are charged with turning civilians into Soldiers, but the 192nd trains for nine weeks and the 198th trains for 14 weeks, . This means their Soldiers complete both basic combat training and the follow-on advanced individual training (AIT) all at Fort Benning

This is BS! What the heck is a "condolence payment"? If The Police in the U.S. killed four members of a family by "mistake", would the Police pay only $10,000? Total BS!!!!!

"I'm very sorry for your pain. Meanwhile here's $2,500 for each of your children that we smoked". How thoughtful.

Only $2,500 per dead Afghan? Is that what a life is worth? $2,500???? Sheez! That was the worst part of this documentary.

I'm still looking for the soundtrack to this documentary, however the composer's name is Andrew Phillips. Good luck, hope you find it.
