It doesn't surprise me to learn that this fine instrument is still in constant service. My compliments to whomever maintains it. And thanks to the church that allows passers-by to walk in play a few bars. Change Islands is one of our favorite parts of Newfoundland, and we hope to be back next summer.
Ha! I'd love to have an organ like that in my house. If I did, I'd go get some organ lessons. But this particular one belongs on Change Islands, if not the most beautiful spot on earth, it's awfully close.
Really? I don't know anything about pump organs, just how to play the piano a little. We just walked into the open church, took some pictures, and then I played a little. Maybe I was pumping it unnecessarily hard. Thank you for the compliment. I wish I had time for some organ lessons.

My mother plays this organ every Sunday on Change Islands. It's over a hundred years old.

The organ shouldn't need to be pumped like that. There's probably something wrong with the bellows or reservoir. But other than that, great playing.
