I don't think it has a lot of flavor. It's more of a texture thing isn't it? And the idea of eating something like that.. I think that's what attracts people. The novelty factor. Do you already have a video of you eating 번데기? Now that's bizarre and gross!
It looks quite yum to me - I'm not being sacarstic. We eat a lot of raw fish and seafood but I never try raw octopus. Just wonder how you felt why you swallow it? Did the tentacle cups suck on yr esophagus when it went down to yr stomach ?
OMG YESSS I ate live octopus too at the fish market in Seoul. :D The leg stucked to my finger when I picked it up and tried to eat,but the octopus wouldn't come off,so I just bit it and wala. :D
The craziest thing i have ever eaten is pork ears. I was 7 & thought it was just a random piece of meat. I remember it as a chewy sensation. :) you guys should try it..
i actually enjoyed san nakji, but i totally hated the sea cucumber-dickshappedthinggie-whateveriscalled (kaebul? kaemul?, i'm not sure), it tastes like nothing, i tried it in HK and Busan and i sorta liked the cantonese version of it (since it had a good sauce, hence the thing tasted like the sauce) but the korean version, didn't taste good. anyways, they are both awful, stay way from it
Lol you look so drunk if anyone asked you how it tasted you probably would have said it tastes like chicken. That looks like Nokdujeon(Mung bean Pancake) the big pancake on the table I love that it's so tasty.
Oooo men !! I envy you !! When I was in Pusan (Just 3 days in July), I wanted to eat an alive octopus ! Aaaahahaha ! How do you say that ? 산낙지 ? But I eat somes 번데기, so I think it's okay :D (My Korean friends have found it disgusting). Maybe the next year 8D ~~
I have eaten the creature you showed at the last part of your video. I mean that penis like sea creature. We call them "gaebul" in Korean. We cute them in pieces and eat them raw. Actually, they are very delicious. It taste like sweat sea water and a lot better than live octopus. I highly recommend it. You should try.
@durkeeinkorea Well, technically they are all dead but their nerves are still intact. So you will see those small cut pieces moving a little bit when you touch them with chopstick. But they don't wiggle like octopus.
Ha! That was awesome. I think I saw something similar in an old episode of the Amazing Race (it was one of the challenges). As far as the craziest thing I've ever eaten, aside from the occasional bug I swallowed while riding my bike, I would have to say jellyfish, cut up in a salad. It was crunchy, like a cucumber wrapped in jell-o.
@durkeeinkorea You can get jelly fish in Korea. If you go to Chinese restaurant in Korea, order "Hae-pah-ri Naeng-Chae" That means jelly fish salad with mustard sauce. They are pretty good. Try them later.
It looks as though the Octopus coats itself in the sauce. Crazy how the Octopus legs are still alive after being chopped up but I think I would try it. It's not like they are serving you dog poop and you're the only one. HEHE,. It's what they eat. I think if I traveled, I'd try any delicacy they offered,..except poop.
I too was expecting to see the WHOLE octopus to be gobbled down, but eeewwwww go you! The craziest thing I've ever had was this redhead I once ate, she was nucking futts!
@EvannRachel I vowed years ago to never put anything resembling a cockadoodledoo in my mouth. I'll eat a hotdog on the fourth of july... but it's only to show my patriotism.
Strangest thing would be the silkworm larvae here in Korea. Other food I've had that isn't as strange dog, chicken feet, rattlesnake, BBQ pig intestine (makchang), and fish eyeballs. By far the best is still BBQ dog in Vietnam.
Wow, I'm korean but I can't imagine eating the live ones. Maybe I'll try them next time I visit the korea. Really enjoying your video:)
