@Xcorgi Always first confirm you have the exact same model. If your laptop is newer than mine, there's a great possibility i needs DDR3.
When the box doesn't tell, check the RAM itself for any information. If that comes up empty too, use tools like PCWizard to confirm what version of RAM you need.
@eaglecreek123 If you really want fo be sure, go to crucialdotcom to do an automatic memory check. It will tell you the type installed currently in your computer and even give the model# for the replacement upgrade and of course if it is DDR2 or 3
bro, thanks a lot!! i learned much~ Cheers!! i'm not sure...what is the model/name of the RAM that i need to replace it for the 2GB one? thanks again! :)
@YumSquirrel Thanks for the compliments! I haven't really had the time to put more videos up, but when I have an interesting subject to share, I surely will :).
@AndrewN15 I'd say 'yes' (since Compaq = HP), but it depends on what exact model you have. If you have the same casing as I do, there's a big chance you also need the same RAM. Won't promise you anything though.
Many thanks for the tutorial, I have a HP Mini 110-3100CA, I want to upgrade my RAM to 2Gb as you did. In Turkey, I could only find *Samsung 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400S-666-12 Notebook RAM*. Do you think it would work for me? Thank you again!
Dude whats the power of second ram i have same laptop want to change my ram but my old ram doest say any power like256 mbor 1000mb can you please reply
thanks heaps for the help searched everwhere for the same netbook as mine this one is excate are u running windows 7 starter ?? i preetyt sure my ram is the same ddr2 6400 800mhz pc2
Hello ! I have the same type of netbook too. But i have a problem with it. Everytime i switch off the netbook the time gets blocked at the time that i switched it off. I couldn't find how to solve this problem from settings , it doesn't sinchronyze with internet time and everytime i turn on the netbook i have to set the time and date. If anyone had the same problem please share your eexperience or if you can help me with it it would be nice.
@bikeratyss your cmos battery may not be making good contact or is defective, its inside the laptop and it looks just like a watchs battery. remove it an replace it with anew one and try again. post if your problem persists.
Thank you so much. This video was exactly the guide I needed. The instructions are perfect. I upgraded to 2GB of AData DDR2 800 CL5 Ram and my HP Mini 110-3000 netbook works better and multi-tasks much smoother.
I called HP, and they told me you need DDR2 6400. This automatically implies DDR3 memory won't work, since most motherboards aren't capable of using two different RAM generations.

@myluv1100 Check 2:40. So-Dimm (which is laptop memory), DDR2 6400 (which is 800 Mhz)

@eaglecreek123 thanks bro~ i got it already...i repeated it back~ bought it and fixed it already~ haha cheers! thanks a lot!
myluv1100 3 weeks ago
@myluv1100 Also: since the netbook supports no more than 2 GB total, you would need to buy 2x 1 GB. I doubt a single 2 GB module even would work.

@Xcorgi I have bought mine in october 2010 I've visited the UK hp website and they sell 2 models of the hp mini 110;
the 3700 and the 4100, in the video he is showing the 3000sd, that is different model
korriemorrie1 1 month ago
@korriemorrie1 That surely is possible. I bought mine in The Netherlands, Januari 2011. It indeed is the -HP Mini 110-3000sd - model.

@STOWK100 Backwards compatibility I guess. Does it actually run at 1333 Mhz, or did it stick with 800?

When getting the 2 GB ram, should it read "2GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-6400 memory module" ?? Is the "200-pin" and "PC-2" correct?

@eaglecreek123 ow well thx for replying. is the 2gb upgrade well worth it?
Davidgon100 11 months ago
What memory do you need: 2:40.
Replacing the RAM: 4:40.
However, the whole video might be interesting for you since it contains some back ground info.
