@SpikeMichaels Ed's stuff is pretty difficult at time, but i've learned from playing some the past few weeks that if you don't take any technical approaches into his music it's not bad. Just take it one bar at a time and it'll help you a lot. I suggest going with Little Dreamer. Honestly it's not hard at all until you get to the solo. And that in itself is simple in my opinion

Yeah, he did influence Randy. Randy probably influenced Eddie a bit as well. Jamming on the same scene they all would have been borrowing licks off of each other. I think Randy preferred George Lynch to Eddie though, according to Kevin Dubrow (and he's probably right).

Your right hand isn't the way EVH plays it but I really dig the fact you still pulled it off with your method. It's exactly what Ed did so many times. If he didn't know how to play a certain style he faked it and made it his own.(little guitars intro for example)

Then I saw the Punks about 2 years ago and went..Man! I forgot how great this music was. That's when I picked it back up and started playing again. Nobody has inspired me like EVH.
