  • it's okay....not astoundingly good. Have followed this band since the beggining and can't say i've heard anything i've absolutely loved from them since amputecture. That being said i like cedric's vocals on this track. I didnt buy this album because i was that dissapointed with the bedlam in goliath.....sounded like a rushed effort. But this sounds to be getting better. I dont know. Anyway

  • I love this song. I love mars volta. I love mars volta on shrooms lol. My boyfriend and i always listen to them when we take a trip ;)

  • sorry for not using time

  • This song both scares and me and fulfills me at the same time

  • ah i love this song so much XD

  • I think this songs about the the tower first hit on 9/11. "She tells me I'm not capable of what they accuse me" (falling/falling due to burning jet fuel) "with no remorse I stand and say that guilty is what I plead" (going to fall.. due to jet fuel.. or explosives*) "longest tusk of corridors Numb below the neck" (as if to say the tower went numb below where the jet hit) Every body hang like dead leaves (ppl hanging out bound to fall) The name of the song says a lot IDK tho.
  • The album cover is my phones wallpaper, and my desktop wallpaper.

Halo of Nembutals is my ringtone, With Twilight as My Guide makes me believe in time travel.

  • Listening to this right now. stoned out of my mind ..........fuckinhg awesome.....

  • @zombiemonstergirl it is epic stuffs :D this has to be there best song :) slash best album

  • sorry, some of us were really high while making our last comments. thanks for the help and not being asses about it guys

  • Comment removed

  • i dont know... i feel like the last minute feels like your surrendering or something :S ... trippy music. love the mars volta.

  • I like how "in my eyes" is whispered the first time, and then he screams it at you louder each time throughout the song. adds to the rising tone of the song in general.

also the story of the whole cd kicks ass. listen to it through, and you can hear the story.

  • @gorith13 it's in my heart, not in my eyes

  • @gorith13 in my heart?

  • I like how "in my eyes" is whispered the first time, and then he screams it at you louder each time throughout the song. adds to the rising tone of the song in general

  • 2 people were too busy trying to add it to their favorites, that they clicked dislike..

  • How can even TWO people dislike this?

  • i hate the way he sings now, i miss Frances the Mute!

  • as i flip trough the pages of a worn out key,

salomonis claviculae, such beuty before our insignificant ears! all hale thelema!

  • It's as if Radiohead had a beastly offspring and it was called The Mars Volta.

  • @jerry1qa

radiohead is not even worth to be compared to the mars volta ... dare you

  • @Hazukro

I dare. Both bands are innovative and both rely on expanding beyond traditional music.

  • @jerry1qa

dare on! yessss.. it's like Radiohead and Tool make hot rockin' love on a Ouija Board and Volta was born the next day! ;)

  • @Hazukro

Two TOOOTAALLLY different bands, i'm a pretty big fan of both. Both are unbelievable & well worthy of respect for their music & influence.

Unfortunately Mars Volta get the short end of the stick :(

  • @tvrulesnation

i guess it depends on the taste of each individual, i got a few albums of radiohead myself aswell, but in my opinion, radiohead is not even close to the musical strenght of the mars volta. that is kind of a fact, but ill tolerate your side of the coin ;)

  • @Hazukro

I must retract my statement, lets just say i had a quite profound experience listening to them on a certain something.

    Sober i call Radiohead

    Not sober, mars fucking volta

  • @TheTvrulesthenation

thats what makes them outstanding once youre in it ;)

  • mi diablo me hace soñar...

  • c'est des osti de génies !!!

  • This song sounds like nothing the Mars Volta has ever done, as much as it pains me to say it, I'd rather hear an album of this than any of their other work, which I love. Its just this darker more melodic direction grabs you and never lets you go.

  • to be honest this song never really captured my attention when i first bougth this album..if i wanted to hear a calm and epic song id skip to COPERNICUS but wow have i been missing out, love everything about this song =]

  • I can´t stop listening!

  • something controversial to what everybody else is saying

  • His voice is fucking orchestral.

  • Immediate ear candy. I can't stop listening to this song.

  • The Mars Volta: Epic music written for only the most adventurous of stoners. Love it.

  • they sound totally different. ...beautiful ballads, but nothing can beat deloused en comatorium :D

  • it's like going to a concert and looking around and seeing 31,209 people there, thinking,"Theyr'e all weirdos like me!" thank God for Mars Volta!

  • awesome!

  • The 2nd best progressive band ever , but just behind Pink Floyd

  • @BuckNasty128 I'd dare to say they are getting close to overtaking the Floyd, lol. I love em both, but TMV are getting to the epic point of no return lol.

  • @BuckNasty128 What about king crimson?

  • are there two vocalists or is it just multi-tracked in the studio?

the person singing the line "in my heart" really cuts through (sounds like a woman?)

    L O V E it

  • @alilacherruse It's all Cedric, and the vocals are just doubled in the studio

  • this song is just class A awsome

  • whoa....trippy

  • My God, this so beautiful...

  • hauntingly beautiful ... i've waited a long time for a band like this ... it's nice to be excited about band ... love love love TMV ... delightful ... honest ... passionate ... music that gives you mind pix ... perfection ...

  • waw nice song^^

  • @StoNes845 you fuck a duck u mongo

  • @StoNes845 no

  • Awesome...

  • this is one of the very few bands who keep making albums (good albums of course)and not just another radio hit of shit like pop r&b and hip hop "artists" love my nicotine silphyd

  • My devil makes me dream like no other mortal dreams <3

  • my god, cedrics voice is amazing.

  • I hope to god they make a video of this one. It needs to see the light of day.

  • this album creeps me out.. i love it but when i listen to the lyrics of all the songs i think their about being lost in the forest.

  • I Love Octaherdron for two reasons. One the Piano is just fucking awesome like in Luciforms.

and secondly the feel of the album reminds me of my childhood which is really cool. Does any one remember the song about the dingly dangly scarecrow, it just has the that sardistic haunting feel. I grew up on a mountain in a little wooden cabin with a rainforest as my backyard, Octahedron is like the perfect soundtrack to it especially this song

  • @Taomarlam fuck I'm jealous of where you grew up.

  • This has to go down in my all-time haunting, heavenly, perfect songs.

I come back to it over and over...it's just so great...

  • I FUCKING LOVE THE MARS VOLTA . u shoulvnt even dese4rve tah b alive they r soo sickk !! nd why is ur name mars volta shyt lyk that r u serious

  • so why are you listening to their music on youtube?

  • lol i kid thats why my name is like this... sarcasm... i apologize if offense was taken

  • this album may not be as "complicated" as the others, but it surely doesn't skip on the awesome factor.

i love these guys and hope they'll kepp on making beautiful haunting music.

  • The best song on Octahedron.

  • it´s raining today, i can see the city curtained by the tears of a thousand angels, oh shit, i like this song...

  • AMO A THE MARS VOLTA DESDE SUS INICIOS

  • the last mintue and a 1/2 sounds like your escaping hell for heaven....but im really really high

  • i love youtube comments by high people. i think i need to make some more of them myself.

  • @b0st0nseltic hahahahhahahaha

  • @b0st0nseltic neat?

  • @b0st0nseltic holy shit dude.. you're absolutely right 100%

  • @b0st0nseltic holy shit it is! and i don't know if it is from me being high too but i can edit the "remaining characters" from my comment, it's so freaky! i have "asd remaining characters"

  • I love the ballads of The Mars Volta. There is a certain twang about them that has a country flavor, accompanied by a lonely acid trip.

A Cajun Acid Trip. That's what this song is.

  • i wonder what this song would sound like on acid. just curious.

  • It sounds good dude. Real good.

  • this is a good song for just use the imagination =)

  • this song it's perfect to walk arround in the night...

The Mars Volta it's just Awesome...!

  • just awesome!!!!

  • this song paints such incredible pictures in my mind, especially the line "the only way to see him in the tunnel where he slept...."

    love it.

  • There is just something about this song that gets to me every time...maybe its how vocally driven it is with the fact you get to hear the whole of Cedrics incredible range.

  • this is a fuckin peyote trip!

  • This song makes my heart cry out with such sadness and joy. TMV has been there for me since the beginning.

  • He has an amazing range.

  • before someonelashes out on me like most youtubers do look at my name

  • youre not worth the time man

  • k cool

  • 3:04 and the ensuing minute/conclusion is breathtaking.

  • Excuse me Sr. Personification of yay, but, with all the respect u deserve from ye olde universe, who in the earth u think u are to tell what is art and what is not?

  • has a very king crimsony feel to it

  • cedrics voice is so amazing,

    sounds like an evil lulaby

  • Anything with the suffix -hedron almost always refers to something in 3 dimensions. That is why they are called polyHEDRONS instead of polyGONS. It does have 8 FACES though.

  • Although I have to say that this is their best album to date.

  • TMV have so much potential, too bad they're too pretentious to realise... It's all wishy washy stream of consciousness drivel. Oh, and no this is not 'real' art.

  • "Oh, and no this is not 'real' art."

Sorry sir, but that is false. It is very much art, no matter how many times you spout your subjective views. Pretentious? Maybe (who gives a fuck, anyway?). "Wish washy stream of consciousness drivel?" Ok.

    ...Still art.

  • it's just to amazing, who would of thought that a simple punkrock band would grow up to make real art. Hey can anybody tell me what octahedron is or what it means?

  • I met Cedric in New orleans, He said this song is about a woman he met in New york

  • This song creeps me out every time I listen it. It reminds me of being alone at night.

  • great band

  • Does anyone know what guitar effect Omar is using?

  • It is striking how many people Mars Volta resonates with.

I agree with all the comments posted so far.

    It is art.

The notes of sadness are sincere, and compelling. It's beautiful.. while disturbing..

It's like.. despite the conditioning we each experience as individuals.. the strength of the the honest expression... hits.

    It hits deep.

I like that these sounds of sadness and sorrow are able to connect people.

The contradiction of feeling happy from these feelings.. makes me smile :)

  • Love this comment, it's exactly what I feel about the song but not able to express in words :)

  • @yO0h0O very well put.

  • @yO0h0O

yes, but the more ppl find links with others on sad things is just the proof we're going wrong

  • "She tells me I'm not capable

    of what they accuse me

with no remorse I stand and say

that guilt is what I plead"

    Yes...

  • "My devil makes me dream like no other makes me dream" what an amazing song from an amazing album. The Mars Volta just get better and better.

  • dream...like no other mortal dreams***

  • They r just music masters.... its pure art.

  • This album is completely awesome. I wasn't sure of it at first, but I quickly fell in love with it.

    It's beautifully disturbing.

  • TMV did a great job on this song <3

  • ill be the first to comment...i love this song...perfect for cannibus
