@0alstonw0 Egypt is a baby. What the whites have nicknamed Nubia is FAR older. Look up Qustul/Ta-seti. It predates Egypt by AT LEAST 200 years and some say a few thousand years. Qustul had hieroglyphics first, they had pharaohs first and they had temples first. Egypt was a offshoot of Qustul. Wasn't until later generations that the two had a fall out and Qustul fell to Egypt.

The three most well known ethnic groups of the Eastern Sudan (East Africa) were the Ethiopians, Nubians and Zanj. Qustul had hieroglyphics first, they had pharaohs first and they had temples first. Egypt was a offshoot of Qustul. Wasn't until later generations that the two had a fall out and Qustul fell to Egypt.

i remember going into the museum which is or was located in piccadilly which is an area of london better known as a tourist spot, it was a revelation.. not only is it didicated to africa but there was a complete replication of a west african village with sounds etc on sight.. you could google it to see if it still around i went there about twenty yrs ago... i do notice that americans generally are very ignorant of africa and its mass.. equating the whole continent to missisiphi or tenesse..!!

west african history is devaluled by western media and underplayed because its not as documented in the same way egyptian history is.. however, we had extensive empires and civilisations .. i knew all that because at university in nigeria it was standard 101 history that we where taught .. l love history so i found it fascinating, others were just bored with it..but we had to study about those empires no matter what discipline you were studying..

A quick look at this book will be helpful "the prides of blacks over the whites" (literally black over brown skin) by Al-Jahiz written in the 9th century.

The Arabs, Egyptians, Ethiopians and Nubians are all related. The turmoil of that period that the others were going through was also happening to the Arabs. Come to think of it all those groups were on the same side, after all the Egyptians saw the Arabs as liberators and helped them drive out the Romans.
The Arabs depended on good relations with people in the far south for trade and support. I don't think the Arab conquests could have happened without the southern people backing them
