@chrispie99 - It's easy... same way you get to Carnegie Hall. (practice x3) ;-> Slides really are quite easy in mellow wind. You have to manage the stall and the kite's attitude. Lean the leading edge in the direction you want to go and carefully maintain a lower pressure on the opposite wing and the kite will slide. The hard part is keeping the tips level.
you have to w8 till the waves go out. the water fills the sail and then pull when you feel tention on the line. thats how you do it with a spin offtype kite.
for that kite its got stand offs so just need to get it in water then pull faster then the wave is coming in.
It's a series of opposing half-axels that you can work up or down the window. (I've heard the move called a "Fountain" or "Rising Cascade" when you move the kite up instead of down.
So many things I love about this video... I grew up in the Seattle area, now I live on the east coast, and hearing about all the badass kite flying spots there makes me want to move back!! I love that you can see the ferry crossing the sound!! Your QPro is beautiful!! and if I could be half as good at flying as you are, which I will be one day, I will be content :) great video, great tune!
Slides are pretty easy with this kite, especially in very low winds. You just walk backwards and maintain the stall while cheating to the side you want to go.
Actually, everything is pretty easy with this kite. It's amazingly responsive and precise.
Pick up a copy of Freestyle Pilot on DVD. It's on the Prism website and is an instructional DVD that'll take you from basics to advanced moves. Back when I started there was a video (yes, VHS... remember those?) called the Advanced Way to Fly. I watched it over and over and learned a bunch, but the best way to learn is to fly with other people who have more kite control than you do. You'll learn more in a afternoon than you'd ever think possible.
We wanted to show that the SUL was capable of all the "new-skool" tricks currently being flown, so that's what all the flippy-floppy stuff is about. (wrap and multi-wrap moves, with rotation, are very popular right now)
Nicely done. Maximum PWNage.

whats a good string to use

The ONLY line to use is one made from Spectra fiber. (high strength, low stretch) Various brands are out there. Google "online kite shop".

That's called a "cascade."

You're welcome for "les yeux"!!
Here's what I remember from Middle School Francais...
Dialoge Numero Une
P - Bonjour Alice.
A - Bonjour Philippe, ca va?
P - Oui, ca va. Et toi?
A - Pas mal.
We had to memorize a new dialoge every week. I can only remember the first one.

I think I've seen the best kite video in my life. The flying is inspiring. The choreography is humbling.
I loved the roll ups and I am jealous of your side slides. I love to see a good one. You put at least three in. THANKS!
Great Work.

I put an order in for one yesterday. Mostly because of this clip. I'm looking forward to it very much.

Seriously that seems unreal. How that's possible. lol Please make a video will show you from behind to understand more how you do it =P

What was the wind speed that day?
I haven't seen a half of those tricks before.

Wind was about 2mph, a bit choppy.
