This game is such a great MGS game in the series. I have this game already for PS2 and I even have two copies of MGS3: Subsistence for PS2 as well. I have the copy that was sold separately and contains the two discs inside and the other copy that I have was from the MGS: Essential Collection set for PS2. It's so awesome and MGS3 isn't too bad either. I've even heard already that this game will be released soon to the new upcoming system, the Nintendo 3DS. Man, I can't wait until that comes out.
This game rocks and it's really a great game to play in the MGS series too. I already have this game and it's so awesome. I also have two copies of MGS3: Subsistence for PS2 as well which are expanded editions of MGS3 just like with both MGS2 and MGS2: Substance. So far in the Metal Gear video game series, my most favorite games would have to be MGS1, MGS: The Twin Snakes, MGS2, and MGS4 for right now.
I have a question and I'm just curious too. In MGS3, does anyone happen to know which snakes will attack Snake in the game and which ones won't? I'm just wondering.
@96JWillis Snake is Big Boss. You receive the title of Big Boss once you kill The Boss (snake's mentor) at the end of the game. sorry if i spoiled anything
@96JWillis Naked Snake is the codename given to you during the Virtuous Mission, and I think you get Solid Snake later on in the game maybe. There is no story for the name Solid Snake.
@Shadowflamel Actually, Naked Snake is really Big Boss in MGS3 who is Snake's father and he is also the main character in both MPO and MGS: Peace Walker. Solid Snake is one of the sons of Big Boss who appeared in the later Metal Gear games and he also has two other siblings called Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake who are all clones of the Les Enfants Terrible project that have appeared in later games too.
Yes, Shadowflamel. In MGS4, Old Snake is Solid Snake and that's the main character that you play as in the game. The reason why he is called Old Snake in MGS4 is because sometime between the events of MGS2 and MGS4, Solid Snake underwent accelerated aging which made Snake look like an old man almost similar to Big Boss.
He's not Solid Snake at all, Shadowflamel, and he doesn't even appear in MGS3 except for the Snake vs. Monkey minigame which is featured on both MGS3 and MGS3: Subsistence. The main playable character and protagonist of MGS3 is Naked Snake who is actually Big Boss in his younger years. He also appeared in MPO as the main playable character and he will be the main character in MGS: Peace Walker too.
You got it, Shadowflamel. There were also two other clones produced along with Solid Snake too and they were Liquid Snake who first appeared in MGS1 and Solidus Snake who was first mentioned at the ending credits of MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes and finally made his actual appearance in MGS2.
Yes. Solidus was killed by Raiden at the very end of MGS2 and then in MGS4, his body was used as a decoy for the body of Big Boss, but all of his remains were burned on the Volta River by Liquid and Vamp in Act 3 which takes place in Eastern Europe.
Sorry about that then. LOL I was only just explaining to you what happened. I will tell you this though and this is my most favorite part of MGS4. You should check out Act 4 if you haven't seen it already. In Act 4 of MGS4, Snake goes back to Shadow Moses Island which served as the setting for MGS1 and MGS: The Twin Snakes. That was my most favorite part of MGS4.
LOL Sorry about that then, Shadowflamel. I didn't realize that you haven't really made much progress yet so far on MGS4. I'll just keep my mouth shut then and I hope you'll do well on the rest of the game too. Good luck playing the rest of MGS4! :)
LOL Congratulations then, Shadowflamel. I've beaten Laughing Octopus before many times already too. I have to say though that out of all of the four members of the B&B Corps in MGS4, the toughest bosses that I had to defeat were probably Raging Raven and Screaming Mantis. For some reason though, the easiest boss for me was Crying Wolf.

@KenMeister1357 Wait, so in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, you play as Old Snake, is that Big Boss or Snake?
