@Naze0 Probably because his bass lines until the last two albums have been fairly unremarkable. There's not really much room for an impressive bass line in the style SA used to play back in the early days, but the more they move towards progressive metal, the more Marko is able to shine. He's not a bad bassist, just hasn't yet been able to show his full potential. Some of the stuff he does on Unia and TDOG is pretty sweet, though.

I'm a bassist and can say he is a good and consistant drummer. Maybe he lacks a bit of creativity and certain pieces could be a bit more"colored",but he can grant a pretty good and constant live performance, even with very speedy rythms

yes he has very often the same beat but this whas a crazy beat not very difficult but very fast...and in the new album unia he plays ´difficult beats too...i think he´s a very good drummer love sonata arctica!!!

i agree, im a drummer as well and i seem to hear the same or almost the same beat in most of their songs. i think ge should add more, different beats and more complex as well.

i love sonata arctica, and as a drummer i can say that he is a good drummer but with lack of creativity and difficultness in his songs, well in comparison with other drummers of the same genre like jorg michael of stratovarius or juka of nightwish or the drummer of zonata, still he is a good drummer is just he could make better beats that will give sonata arctica a better escence :p keep listening sonata guys!
