@rohitverma90 - too much of any protein can affect the kidneys. That was the main problem with the Atkins Diet. I did it many years ago and used to get kidney pains especially if I did not drink enough water. The key is not to exceed about 1.5 gms protein per kg body weight per day. That means that protein drinks with protein meals and no more than about 1.5 gms. Drink around 2 lts of water a day; have your carbs and you will have a very healthy diet. Baz
helloo mr Baz....this workout is really fun..however i dot it with gym ball....well..can u tell me somthing...for training legs a single day...s it enough to strenthen my leg muscle by doing 2 exercises for quads, hamstrings, and calfs ....coz my gym trainer always asks me to go for more exercises...which leaves my legs paining for next 4 days....i train my legs once in a week....other days i train my other muscles.....plz guide me mr.baz....
@MyYamcha - great idea with a gym ball. I prefer to train each muscle 2 times a week. I also like to do only one main execise for each muscle. So for quads I do squats. 6 sets x 12 reps per set. Hamstrings I do good mornings or deadlifts and the same sets and reps. For calves I do calf raises same sets but 15-20 reps. I train them Wed and Sat each week. Baz
@BazBlog Yea, I'm more a light and skinny guy and I often need a lot of additional weight while doing body weight stuff. On one hand it's a bit annoying, on the other hand...maybe someday I'll able to do pull and push ups with one hand to then ;D
@MsWingx - you can get a great body regardless of how you are right now. You just have to eat well and make sure you are training right. You will have a great body and with a bit of extra strength training even if you build quite big you will be able to do one arm pushups etc. Food is so important. Have a look at the nutrition video for some tips. Baz
Hey baz loving your videos, just a question though because I recently started gym I'm 192cm or 6 foot 3 and I have a bad "hunchback" posture is there any weight exercises that could help me get my posture right?thanks in advanced and again awesome videos cheers from Australia:)
@TheMrStevage - I am not and expert on posture but common sense tells me that doing some bench press and flys will cause you to expand the chest. That should push it out so you have your shoulders back. I would also walk as tall as I can. Head right up and again shoulders back. Find a palates instuctor and they work very much on posture. You will learn how to control certain back muscles so they can pull you upright. Baz
Hey man. I used to have bad posture, just practice correcting it in the mirror, and eventually it becomes second nature to walk with your back straight and chest out. Although some people have a naturally curved spine, which posture wont fix, hope this helps!
@AlsavierWoW - thanks so much for this. It is great to hear from someone who has had a problem and fixed it. I think that is always the most reliable information. Thanks for your support. I am glad I was part right with what I suggested. Baz
I've heard many different English accents and Baz sounds more South African than anything. The strongman competitor Gerrit Badenhorst sounds very close to the way Baz sounds.
@undergroundbasement - Yes you are almost right. I am Zimbabwean which is quite similar to a South African accent. I probably have a bit of a mixture now as I lived in South Africa for 14 years and now in England for 10 years. Baz
@BazBlog hi Baz just wondering, is it possible to gamin calories to build muscle and gett good abs? becouse to get good abs you will need to do cardio to lose weight, which means the calories you put on will be burnt in the process.. am confused
@o0EliteRealm0o - If you put in more food which is measured in calories then you use you will gain weight. If you put in too little food then the body will need fuel so it will stop using fat but use muscle for the fuel. You have to eat just right. Slighly less then you need. Eating often tricks the body into releasing fat as it percieves no shortage. Lose fat and you will see the cuts of the muscles. That is why the competition bodybuilders have such strict diets before a competition. Baz
@MrSmudger687 - I really cannot remember as I do not go to others sites very often. I understand he does it and might well have invented it. Regardless who did it it is a great exercise for people who do not have a lot of weights to use. Baz
Hi mate. Just wondering if you would be able to give me some tips or even make a quick vid if you have the time. I'm only 15 and have been doing weights for a while now, with not to high exceptions. Just a fitness thing. Could u recommend a more intense routine that I will see noticeable results for a young fella like myself. I want to get ahead off the pack if u no what I mean :) any elp would be great thanks.
@condog321 - I am glad that you have set yourself a goal to be better. I will send you some info that I am sure will give you some ideas of what to do. Baz
@joehavian - you probably will only see a slight result in a few months because of the bad diet. Diet is everything in building muscles. Have a look at the nutrition video. If you eat right and train hard including proper squats you will build good looking legs in 3 to 4 months. Baz
hey mr baz, have been watching your videos quite alot and i think tht yur videos are extremly helpful and its great to see the enjoyment tht yu have doin them. i personally find tht yur advice on taking things slowly and squeezing at the top of the rep is the way to do it and have found my best gains from this method. many congrats young sir, you are a credit to the world of au naturelle and i hope tht wen i am your age i am as fit, healthy and as strong as yu are!!!!
@TheNaturalfreak1986 - thanks very much for the very kind compliments. Lifting weights is common sense. I think people make it too complicated and then are dissapointed with the results they get. Keep it simple and eat right and you will surprise yourself how good you can look. I am sure if you just stay focused you will be probably be in much better condition because you will have done it properly for a lot longer. Baz
@ChainBreaker01 - that should give you the encouragement to train. I really hope it does. You only have one body and it goes with you for your life. Baz
I just found you.. and have been looking through your videos and i really like them especially those make-shift workouts for people whom prefer to workout at home rather then the gym. Plus, not to mention how fit you look, nevertheless the age. Looking forward to your new videos.. Thanks a lot mate. :)
@arsenalmanic - time my friend. I have been really busy for the last while. I really do appreciate your support and there will be some new ones soon. Baz
@shawnrivas1972 - no he has not gone away just been very busy. I will be putting out some new ones soon. Thanks a million for your wonderful support. Baz
@jxbrenna - I really cannot remember I thought it was in a mag. I do not really go on his site but it might even have been there. I know he does it and as far as I know he could well have invented it. Great exercise though. There are a lot of versions with gym balls etc. Who was first I guess does not matter so long as it works and you can get the results you want. Baz
@BunkPode - I am not so sure about losing fat fast but they are cerainly king for building. With good compound exercises like squats your body produces extra testosterone and growth hormones. You really lose fat by the way you eat and with some aerobics. Baz

I prefer free weights aswel but as I work nights it's hard after a shift to get motivated an to much time consuming to change weights and bars. I still train free weights 2 times a week with my m8s but it's easy to walk in home from work an use the muti gym. Thnx for the plan it should be a great help I'll get on it right away
@Dazzlerp23 - Yes I think under the circumstances I too would do the same as you. It is the weigths the body has to adapt to and if you are doing the right number of reps with the right intensity along with good food you will build regardless. Baz
@KingKarl04 - Thanks so much for the sub. Why would you even mention something like that unless it is on your own mind. People are people and there is good an bad all around us. It is up to you to stick with the good people. I have awesome friends from all over the world. Baz
Hey baz I'm 23 years old 11 stone an training for a year I've put on about a stone but am stuck at this weight... I'm looking into a multi gym are they good for building big muscle?
@Dazzlerp23 - I am not a big believer in them and prefer free weights. I guess anything that causes the muscle to work and adapt is good. I will send you a plan that might help you. Just increase the carbs side a bit and you should gain if you train hard. Baz
@JohanVonDoorf - the odd times the sun does shine and you need to take advantage of that. I find here I burn/tan far quicker than in Africa. I also find I lose it just as quick. Right now I am very pale again and cant wait for the summer. Baz
@srslayerz - LOL thanks I guess I might be a bit fitter then him. He still looks pretty good though for his age so I guess maybe he works out too. Baz
@yeeaaabuddy - lol I never have them as I almost never drink. I guess light weights so you can build up a good sweat and drinks loads of water could help. A few headache pills would probably also help. Baz
@BazBlog cheers mate, i havnt drank in a while either, im too focused on my training now, i only went out for 1 lol then.. the inevitable happend caved into peer pressure i guess but yes headache tablets were the first thing i thought of in the morning ha! thanks think a bit of light cardio might help! i dont want to touch the weights this is supposed to be a rest day, all the best.
@w8w7 - I do not think so but it will depend on how you are eating. If you are not putting in enough and you do a lot you will have to find the fuel from somewhere and that can be from the muscles. If you eat enough you will use that for the fuel. Baz
@Obsidian1392 - I cant remember where I got the idea from I think a magazine, but I do understand he shows this and he might have even invented it. Brilliant exercise regardless of who did it first. Baz
@IceGarmAnson - No it does not. The difference between a half squat and a full squat is that the half squat focuses on the quad mainly. A full squat which is better because it works the quads, glutes and hamstrings. There are a lot of arguments over half and full squats. Do what you feel is the best for you. Baz
@00bodybuilder00 - I use visualisation. I keep reminding myself of exactly how I want to look in my minds eye and then it is easy to train and try to make it happen. Baz
Hi Baz, I was just wondering if you got this idea from Scooby1961? By the way, I really enjoy your videos and I find them to be full of great exercises, keep up the good work! :)
@MacDaddy635 - I think i got it a few years ago from a magazine. I really cannot remember. It is a great exercise and could well have been invented by Scooby as a number of people have said he did this some time ago. Thanks for the very nice compliments. Baz.
Baz I really enjoy your videos, you seem like a really great guy and I was sad to hear you'd been having back problems in some earlier videos. Hope your keeping well and thank you very much for your videos they are highly useful
@hamish6000 - Thanks very much for your concern. I am all good now so I am sure it will stay that way. I really am pleased you find the videos useful. Baz
I am quite skinny although i eat a lot because of my high metabolism rate and i find it quite hard to look more muscular although i do work out in gyms.
@PRUSMATTER - You probably think you are overeating but I do not think you are. Increase the amount of carbs per meal and make sure you are eating around 6 times per day. If you want to take a weight gainer that is fine but have that in addition to the meals that you eat. If you put in more than you use you will have to gain weight. Train doing like 8-12 reps per exercise with 5/6 sets. Baz
@Roflefridge - hi my friend. Food is the key to abs. If you eat right you will lose fat and you will have abs. Of course you do need to do things like leg raises and cruches as they are important. People think abs comes for doing loads of exercise but it comes from lose body fat. Baz
@massman1989 - thanks very much for the really great comment. You must understand that as much as I would love to take the credit for this exercise I did not invent it. When I first saw it i too thought it was a brilliant exercise and it works well too. I really hope you enjoy it. Baz
Baz what an awesome idea! when u picked up the skateboard i thought how can that help with squats, then when u showed how to do it its genius i will deffo buy a skateboard
@josh1212121 - Good mornings are not too difficult to do. Place a barbell across on your shoulders as you would for squats. Keeping your legs rigid, bend forward at the waist, keeping your head up, bend until your upper body is parallel with the floor. That should start to stengthen the lower back. Baz
@AVP181 - that is wonderful. To build a good looking body it will take you about 6 months. For competition it will take quite a bit longer. I think you will have to go quite a bit heavier and do 5 sets squats. I will send you some other info that might help you. Baz
a guy on youtube named scooby does quads like this, its a great way to do quads we need to get the word out!

Hey baz I'm 23 years old 11 stone an training for a year I've put on about a stone but am stuck at this weight... I'm looking into a multi gym are they good for building big muscle?
Dazzlerp23 1 year ago
@Dazzlerp23 - I am not a big believer in them and prefer free weights. I guess anything that causes the muscle to work and adapt is good. I will send you a plan that might help you. Just increase the carbs side a bit and you should gain if you train hard. Baz

Baz, living in England, how did you obtain this amazing tan? We are dying to know your secret.
JohanVonDoorf 1 year ago
@JohanVonDoorf - the odd times the sun does shine and you need to take advantage of that. I find here I burn/tan far quicker than in Africa. I also find I lose it just as quick. Right now I am very pale again and cant wait for the summer. Baz

Baz you are a true inspiration to me, and many others, keep the good work up. And just remember keep doing those squats ;)
FaTmaN9009 1 year ago
@FaTmaN9009 - Thanks very much for the compliment. I think every one should make squats a part of there training if they want results. Baz

Hey baz, whats your thoughts on training with a hangover is it good or not recomended?
yeeaaabuddy 1 year ago
@yeeaaabuddy - lol I never have them as I almost never drink. I guess light weights so you can build up a good sweat and drinks loads of water could help. A few headache pills would probably also help. Baz
BazBlog 1 year ago
@BazBlog cheers mate, i havnt drank in a while either, im too focused on my training now, i only went out for 1 lol then.. the inevitable happend caved into peer pressure i guess but yes headache tablets were the first thing i thought of in the morning ha! thanks think a bit of light cardio might help! i dont want to touch the weights this is supposed to be a rest day, all the best.
yeeaaabuddy 1 year ago
@yeeaaabuddy - Yes this happens. Well I guess you will think twice when you remember how you feel now. Baz

Hey Baz, does running make you smaller after workouts?
w8w7 1 year ago
@w8w7 - I do not think so but it will depend on how you are eating. If you are not putting in enough and you do a lot you will have to find the fuel from somewhere and that can be from the muscles. If you eat enough you will use that for the fuel. Baz

hi baz , i've got a question. Is it true that the workout u make ( half squat ) will hurt the knee joint?
IceGarmAnson 1 year ago
@IceGarmAnson - No it does not. The difference between a half squat and a full squat is that the half squat focuses on the quad mainly. A full squat which is better because it works the quads, glutes and hamstrings. There are a lot of arguments over half and full squats. Do what you feel is the best for you. Baz

hi baz :), can you give me one tip on how to stay motivated on building muscle. thanks :D
00bodybuilder00 1 year ago
@00bodybuilder00 - I use visualisation. I keep reminding myself of exactly how I want to look in my minds eye and then it is easy to train and try to make it happen. Baz

Hi Baz, I was just wondering if you got this idea from Scooby1961? By the way, I really enjoy your videos and I find them to be full of great exercises, keep up the good work! :)
MacDaddy635 1 year ago
@MacDaddy635 - I think i got it a few years ago from a magazine. I really cannot remember. It is a great exercise and could well have been invented by Scooby as a number of people have said he did this some time ago. Thanks for the very nice compliments. Baz.

Hi Baz. I have a question for you.
I am quite skinny although i eat a lot because of my high metabolism rate and i find it quite hard to look more muscular although i do work out in gyms.
So i am turning to mass gainers.
Any advices before i start on the mass gainers?
PRUSMATTER 1 year ago
@PRUSMATTER - You probably think you are overeating but I do not think you are. Increase the amount of carbs per meal and make sure you are eating around 6 times per day. If you want to take a weight gainer that is fine but have that in addition to the meals that you eat. If you put in more than you use you will have to gain weight. Train doing like 8-12 reps per exercise with 5/6 sets. Baz

Roflefridge 1 year ago
@Roflefridge - hi my friend. Food is the key to abs. If you eat right you will lose fat and you will have abs. Of course you do need to do things like leg raises and cruches as they are important. People think abs comes for doing loads of exercise but it comes from lose body fat. Baz

whats a good workout for the lower back. my back is weak
josh1212121 1 year ago
@josh1212121 - Good mornings are not too difficult to do. Place a barbell across on your shoulders as you would for squats. Keeping your legs rigid, bend forward at the waist, keeping your head up, bend until your upper body is parallel with the floor. That should start to stengthen the lower back. Baz
