As a gay, I think I'm in the position to judge the offensiveness of this song. The song isn't implying gay=lame. It's saying that you're a guy who says you're one thing, and portrays an image of being something you're really not. You're a contradiction, you're fake.

Actually I think gay supportive straights are more offended by this song than actual gays. We love the support but as a whole I don't think we're hatin' on Katy for this song :)

The singer 1) Criticises a man for being at fault as a boyfriend for having many (largely negative) attributes she ascribes to gay men 2) She goes on to claim he can't sexually perform with women either 3) She tells him to be real with her 4) At each point he is at fault, there's no realisation that maybe she is and that he's fine as a man/boyfriend just as he is.

If anything I see it as a pro-gay, anti-heterosexist song. But I can see why others feel different. The one thing I will say is that using "gay" as an attention grabber isn't appropriate, which is essentially what Katy did here.
