1.New cars dont suck,TC and ASM can either be removed,overridden/remap the ECU.And 2.Line lockers lock the rear lines so fluid cant travel to rear brake pistons.Also line lockers are NOT used on REAL drag cars,line lockers arent a professional mod.Them type of mods are for street cars

my 2003 crown victoria has no mufflers and has line-lock. line-lock locks the front tires but allows the back tires to move. its what dragsters use at races at the begging to do a burnout before they take off.

actually the second car has a traction contol setup due to the fact it is an old cop car it also has a more top speed gear ratiowhicisint as good for burnouts. but done correctly these cars will roast 'em till they pop!

It is not an electric traction control like you thought i said. they have a special setup with the rearend suspension that allows for better turning and also better traction. kinda sorta the same setup as my racecar. Call it fords version of a z link

i beg to differ. i've driven both and i can say that out of the both i've owned, the caprice vastly out handled the vic. vics are a decent car for being one of the last large american rwd cars, but they are nothing against the caprice. the only ones that run even close to a car thats no longer produced are the newer models.

Incorrect. 9C1's are faster but CAN NOT outperform a P71 in a handling contest without modification. Aside from the Charger, the 9C1 is the fastest mass-produced police vehicle. The P71 is the most common and with very little modification outpowers a 9C1. Overall, both cars are tremendous performers on the road & track. They each have their strengths & weaknesses. I love them both.

That may be true for a pre-'04 Vic, but the P71's engine is very similar from '04 up. True, a 9C1 outpowers a They upgraded the engine to 250hp. Again, 9C1's would easily be outperformed in most areas without a little help. Don't get me wrong, 9C1's are great cars. Let's not forget that the LT1 on the 9C1 is an optional engine, not standard. The standard 4.3L only pushes 200 hp. The LT1 pushes 260 w/ 330 ftlbs of torque. 9C1 is also 200lbs heavier curb weight.

i still want to see a crown vic that outperforms a 9c1 with "little" modification. i've run p71's when my caprice, which has the lt1, had no mods but an intake and the p71's had intake and exhaust. i trashed them with little effort. and my car has over 175k miles on the motor! now i have headers, full exhaust, intake, gears, and a computer tune and they cnt touch me. once i do heads/cam, converter and another tune it's game over!

Not all P71s have spotlights (street appearance package) and some only have them on the drivers' side. I agree though, doesn't look like a P71. It has regular trim and it looks like it has civilian rims.

don't need spot lights, and whereever you say the antenna was or think it hsould be, i guarentee you it doesn't have to be in one particular spot.

theoretically speaking wouldnt a p74 get higher mpg versus a p71 assuming 2 factors 1 a p71 weighs more (heavy duty suspension) and 2 the Pcm has performance parameters v/s economy.I could be wrong though

If the 99 is a true p71 it probably has a posi or limited slip rear end. the 96 doesnt. 1wheel burnout is alot easier than trying to spin both

the older one is impressive. as for it not being a burnout, yeah, its not...but the rear on these cars is still heavy enough for this to be impressive.

the newer car did a real burn out. not as impressive, because burnouts just ARENT. however i am wondering about why it was bouncing...looks like suspension problem of some kind to me. either that or the driver was just not being steady on the pedal.
