hah, I can see why some people would think this movie was freaky and unsettling or just out of date and forgotten, but when you take it for what it is, this movie rocks.
Ok this is a wierd fuckin question but, some guy is telling me this movie is about how stupid italians are.........is that true or is he just an idiot (like I am assuming he is)
The puppets only useful quality is that there mindless zombies in cuboid form, willing to follow the commands of their flute playing leader, the pied piper of the underworld.
Wouldn't the humans be more useful as slaves? C'mon! Those aren't 'living puppets', they're useless cutouts that resemble the bad guys from Gumby. Was this an improv cartoon or what?
@KyraWolf I tried to remake the flute song best i could, since ive always wanted an mp3 everybody you can get it off my channel with Youtube to mp3 firefox addon, or search in bar Toby's Flute Song Unico Island of Magic
Sherys parents is right, magic is usually monsterous. Anyways oh man this scene scares me alot when Kuruku went to Sherys house and turned them to living puppets and Toby have to finish the job. But I love the music though but a bit creepy its like that Toby is calling the living dead O_o
Well.... here we go.... I have waited literally 26 years to find out what the name of the movie with the "demon ball" that killed the girl's parents in their house was and scared me so bad as a kid. I thought I would die without ever knowing it. THANK YOU
Somehow i always remembered how the tune went when Toby plays the flute. Just embedded in my memory. Now its stuck in my head for another 20 plus years. :) I'm calling it the "Puppet's March." :)
The marching scene stuck in my head for years. I could never remember what this movie was called, much less see it again. Thanks for uploading, brings back a lot of memories.
Still can't believe my mom let me watch this (and Disney aired it!). It scared the crap out of me as a kid and it's still freaky now, LOL.
i know the feeling. i remember 2 scenes. one where unico transforms into an adult using it's magic horn then flying off. the other is when tobi stands up to the wizard master. everything else a blank, and i have been searching for this movie for years, though i could not remember the name of the movie.
Yaha! I found it! I haven't seen this since i was about 5 years old and could never find it again! My search spanning a quarter century is finally over!
wow, I was born in 79' and I vaguely remembered watching this. Im so glad i found it. Brings back loads of memorys of me cuddling up with my older brother to watch this. I remember Kuruku freaked me out. Stuff like this is why youtube is kickass.
Maybe the reason the family is freaking out over his magic is because of the way he is doing it. At least that's what it seems to me. And I still find it weird that Cherry is afraid of the doll acting as if it is going to bite her or something.
omg! I just realized I've hummed this song several times in more recent years, without realizing what it was! I thought is was just some random tune I was making up! lol ...amazing how movies can affect you when you're a child...
I was so happy when I found this. This was one of my favorite movies when I was 6. I had a crush on Toby, I think. Anyway, I loved the flute scene! I would whistle it forever. ^-^ Unico Love
@k24601 My thoughts exactly. What is with these people? Of course, they probably would have found it more frightening anyways if they found out that A CRAZED PUPPET WITH A GRUDGE AGAINST MANKIND was behind it all.
I positively LOVED this when I was little. I still do. But I never realized how truly CREEPY this scene was until I watched it just last night. The way the scene is played out, combined with the sound of the music and the marching puppets...VERY creepy!!
I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!! EVERYBODY NEEDS TO RALLY FOR THIS TO BE ON DVD!!!!
This part was the scariest part (nxt to the part where they look in the Trojan horses' eye) ..Living Puppets..*shudder* ...Toby scared me too ...but for some strange reason I remember thinking he was cute as well.
Koruku used to scare the piss out of me when I was a little girl - it's been really funny to watch this and see that the thing that scared me was a big eyed round ball :P although, admitedly, it still is CREEPY how he calls 'Tobeeeeeeee, Tobeeeeeeeeeee!'
Why take a doll house if you can get a doll town :D

It wasn't the doll itself but his using magic to make it.
If I had magic like Toby I wouldn't do that just to learn more tricks.
