I think that if a person wants to use it they should be able to do so without the government stepping in and prohibiting them. Smoking weed can be sort of psychologically addictive, but nothing close to a truly addictive drug like nicotine or even caffeine. The laws harm people far more than the plant ever could if it was legal.

However, I am very lucky I live in a city like Raleigh which is practically an island unattached to the rest of the South culturally. A lot of people here are hippies and potheads. Either way, they're very liberal but still balanced, which I happen to like. I don't plan to ever smoke marijuana or take any other psychedelics, but I do support the legalization for it.

It's a great was to relieve stress when you don't have any important tasks to perform since it doesn't cause loss of judgement, isn't addictive, you can't black out on it, and it doesn't damage your body. the irony is that most anti-drug foundations/propaganda machines are funded by alcohol companies. They preach abstaining from "bad drugs" (illegal drugs, whether rightfully illegal or not), but don't mention legal drugs, such as tobacco or alcohol, despite both of these drugs being far more damaging to the body and potentially dangerous than several illegal drugs, such as cannabis, peote, and lsd

@cindybin2001 there are many responsible, successful adults who use weed recreationally. It's a great was to relieve stress when you don't have any important tasks to perform since it doesn't cause loss of judgement, isn't addictive, you can't black out on it, and it doesn't damage your body. Sometimes, cannabis can even be helpful in performing tasks (depending on the situation), like writing creatively. Thinking realistically, many people are going to turn to drugs, and weed is the safe choice

@cindybin2001 Here's an idea, don't bash us "addicts" without fact. Marijuana is less harmful for you than OTC Tylenol taken as directed. Drugs are man-made and processed. Marijuana is grown and smoked. Weed is not harmful. It makes you a bit dumb while you're high, maybe a little hungry and lazy. God forfuckingbid that happen, right? Here's another little fact, Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001, and since then, crimes, ESPECIALLY those related to drugs, have greatly reduced. Oops.

I take all AP and honors classes, I've made high honor roll every quarter of every year, I'm on two varsity teams, I play two instruments at a high level, and I smoke weed three times a week to deal with stress from my personal life as well as from school. It isn't bad for me and it doesn't have a negative effect on my lifestyle. So why is it bad? The only reason you're providing is that it's been labeled as bad, when that label was created by ignoramuses.

A massive amount of money is being wasted on enforcing laws against a beneficial plant, when the US could be MAKING money by legalizing and taxing it. Prohibition is a detriment to the world.

Everyone in my family is dying either of kidney failure or cancer, maybe a couple in a car accident or a drug over dose. Your lucky if you live old enough to have your body just get old and give up. Heart attacks/heart disease is the leading cause of death in america and cancer is second.
