There's one problem with this video. Adama would have entered a space suite, left the nearest air lock, and glared at the Pegasus. The Pegasus would have exploded instantaneously from the extreme shame caused by Adama's deathglare.

@Linuxgeek3124 Well said, unfortunately Cain had a nasty death stare to go with it. Likely both ships, fighters, and civilian ships would have been completely annihilated in the glaredown, Perhaps the fabric of the universe itself would unravel as the stares of Adama and Cain met.

I didn't like the "naturalistic science" approach of the show. I would have liked there to be "Shields" in the re imagined series as there was in the original, as without Force Fields of some sort every battle is just the two spaceships pounding the unholy crap out of each other with missiles and such. Also, why no directed energy weapons? I mean even our modern military have those,yet Colonial and Cylon civilization doesn't? The original series made a lot more sense to me, I'm afraid.

@Solosohi Meh, yes and no. Shields would be possible and we could even get to the amazingness that was the BC-304 vs Wraith in Stargate (those shield flares were beauts!), but it'd be hard and not worth it.

Instead we presented the (far cooler) flak barrier. Set-distance area-explosions designed to trigger and detonate enemy ordnance and fighters.

As for lasers, there's a lot of scientific reasons for them being unusable, which I cannot go into in detail.

@TonyEvans96 Thanks for the reply, yes, flak countermeasures are fine, they might stop some enemy projectiles, missiles, fighters and the rest, but Shields would still be a good idea in ship-to-ship space combat; also, directed energy weapons not only include laser blasts, but electro-magnetic pulse, particle beam and microwave energy blasts (our modern civilizations have effective versions of these that work), so Colonials and Cylons not having them makes no sense to me.

@Solosohi Yea, shields would be effective, but if every shot was blocked we'd not have the fantastic battle-worn old-girl look the Galactica had by the time it flew into the sun (spoiler).

Now, the problem with energy weapons, lasers like you're talking about, is it slower than even a bullet. Yes light travels fast, but the energy that accompanies the light is not as fast. It would become extremely inaccurate and consume lots of energy.

Galactica was an old ship with old fighters but EXCELLENT Leadership.

Pegasus had more advanced fighters and is a newer BattleStar but had HORRIBLE Leadership.

My Money would be on Galactica. The technology gap isn't too wide while the command style's of Cain and Adama are as different as night and day. Cain would fight hard and do lots of damage but Adama and his fighters would find a way to Win.

I loved the scenes like this in BSG, I mean the Cylons wiped out nearly all of humanity, but yet these two human ships, the last two battlestars around, were willing to blow each other apart over issues of personality and command between the two captains.

But yet you can't help but feel pumped up when they gave those dramatic orders in the command rooms, and they stood on the brink of fighting each other, it kinda makes you understand how wars start in real-life.

i think that was the point they were trying to make. that even with an external and common threat, it is in us as humans to fight each other no matter what.

one of the most intense two episodes of the entire show. i've been re-watching the whole show and my heart still goes nuts when they give those orders out, i was literally sweating throughout the last 20 minutes of that second part of the two episodes. crazy shit.

Wait, if Pegasus destroyed Galactica, then Admiral Cain would destroy the civilian fleet and they would never find Earth, and if Galactica destroyed Pegasus, in episode Exodus Galactica would be destroyed by Cylons because Pegasus won't come to their aid if there's no Pegasus, so none of the Battlestars should destroy each other because the series would end earlier.

galactica would win it has more tactical defensive capabilities and was made to take a good pounding and it had more qeapon positions than peggy peggy had no uper defense that were adama would stay so peggy couldnt fire back at them and peggy gave them some of some of there nukes cause galactica had more capabilty of lauching them it had the system unlike peggy they lauched the out the viper pods and peggy has a few anti air system not as many as they'ed need so you get the piont

@beeferstew2 I highly doubt then more advanced Mercury Class would fail against an older Jupiter. Yea, Pegasus might lack down-batteries, but note the fact that the Viper Mk.VII is much newer and more capable than the MK.IIs. With equal experience to the Galactica, it's likely Galactica's CAP wouldn't hold out long enough. Secondly, note that Galactica only has scraps of her original armor on. Pegasus hast the latest on any battlestar.

@beeferstew2 wtf you talking about, galactica had some "anitfighter" turrets on its back, the pegasus on the otherhand had multi-directional turrets both under its bow and on its port and starboard hangars, the galactica would get nailed, nukes or not, the pegasus took 3 nukes before being knocked out of ftl, it can destroy a basestar in 1 salvo, the galactica was built to take a pounding however had minimal armour after it was refit for being a museum, fyi peggy would win.

Admiral Cain - Irresponsible, insane. Also, Galactica wouldn't last as long as Pegasus. She lacks the amount of modern batteries, armor (she only has small sections of plating and her good old caged armor, which is a HELL to bear through, but is no where even 1 10th of Pegasus's armor plating.) and is an old Jupiter Class Battlestar! :P!

The sequences after the Rear Admiral shows up are aparently not very well thought out. Either she'd be square like Adama with an interrestingly different criterion for her judgement, or a far more covert & crafty Cylon responsible for the successful sneak attack and subversion.

The squabbling over torture is bogus. A Rear Admiral does not infiltrate goons into other Captain's ships for ANY reason, and no crafty Cylon would be so overt.

This needs to be rewritten, to make sense.

@85Damix Hi Damix, thanks...I'm a total amateur which means everything I do anyone can do. You just need to buy yourself a semi-decent editing package like Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio. I use the later and I'm 100% self-taught, I just mess around with scenes until I like what they look like.

I'm still a firm believer that Galactica *could* win in a slug-match against Pegasus. I've a severe soft spot for Pegasus, her story, her history, but due to Galactica's proven durability against point blank poundings and her commander's abilities/savvy and experience in war/command... hmm, hmm, hmmm! I really can't say, but I would be rooting for Galactica! A great video - so good, in fact, I did not even realize that the exploding civilian ship from season 4 was supposed to be Galactica!

I have to send out one tiny piece of technical advice..I have a 5.1 sound system (and very acute hearing ) and this sounds slightly overmodulated to me. This is absolutely brilliant. Without a doubt the most convincing Galactica vs Pegasus video i've ever seen. If i didn't know the series i really would have thought this is what happened, and even knowing the series it was so believeable that this is how it would have gone.

@AvidffanFiction Not at all. A vast majority of MV's (that have a story) usually tell a canon story. It's actually much more rare to see non-canon stories in MV's. In fact, MV's are based off of movie montages, which are actually stories compressed into short clips set to music (in other words, what MV's are now).

@AvidffanFiction Actually, MV stands for music video. I've never heard of MV standing for multiverse (outside of a fandom where it is frequently relevant, which is rare). AMV stands for "Anime Music Video' and MMV stands for "Manga Music Video"; etc.
