I have a 24 foot pool and are using it for a pond. Should I put a winter pool cover over the pond and the fish? I'm in zone 5. The pool is 5 feet deep.
@wianpa58 I wouldn't cover them as you would with a normal pool. If you must, use a pond deicer or heater to keep a spot open in ice that may form. This helps transfer good air in and any bad air out.

i just leave my pond as is and stop feeding them, but sometimes they will feed them self, i catch them eating worms that fall into the pond and the water bugs, they seem ok, for now, where i live the coldest it gets is 30 and it never snow, its already getting warm here

Thank you so much as I knew that the fish don't really eat through the winter but needed reasurance that they could survive for all that time.
You're fantastic :-)

like to take a livestock floating heater and submerge it inside a milk crate on the bottom of pond and cover with large rocks to keep on bottom.
Works great~Rockdale Robb Klunkovic
