Of course is a rare question...is like asking where is kolob...the thing is heavenly father gives us the knowledge that we need to be saved...it's true there are a lot of our doctrines that even us don't clearly understand but line upon line we qre going to know. Even jesus wasn't born with all his knowledge...he had to study and that's how he knew everything he knew
Hey, I know this is a year late but I just want to answer your question. Men are allowed to be sealed to a second wife after his first dies and they will spend eternity in heaven. A woman however has to cancel the first sealing in order to be sealed to the second husband. If she wants to stay with the first she can have a civil marriage to the second. However, a postmortem sealing cancellation (divorce) is difficult to have approved.
good luck to that mormons.... You really must not believe the bible or make the bible equal with the book of mormon....because Jesus made a response in the bible, and I believe he made this comment for today as well, and that is there will be no marriage in Heaven nor will anyone be taken as a wife or husband. I believe Jesus rather than Joe
Women can not be sealed to another man in the temple unless they are unsealed to the first person they were sealed to. Sometimes when women remarry after having been sealed they will remarry but they will not do so in a temple. They will just be married for the rest of their life.
From Elder Bruce R. McConkie (former apostle of the Church of Jesus Chrisst of Latter-day Saints: "We do not solve our problems by getting a statement from the president of the Church or from someone else on a subject. We have been introduced to the gospel; we have the gift of the Holy Ghost; we have the Standard Works and IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY to get in tune and understand properly what the Lord has revealed and has had us canonize.
... "The end result of this course of personally and individually pursuing light and truth is to reach that millennial state of which the scriptures say it will no longer be necessary for every man to say to his neighbor 'know the Lord,' for all shall know him from the greatest to the least [cf. Jeremiah 30:31-34]. Joseph Smith says this will be by the spirit of revelation." (end McConkie quote)
Not sure what you are expecting as far as consistency goes. The english language is full of different discriptive words and since every one is am individual, you will have that many more different ways of expressing it their views.
LDSdotORG will have the consistency you seek in Mormon questions. As for the guy posting below me over Josephs sealings, mans laws are not Gods laws, and sealings are not Temporal marriages.
I'm getting my MA in religious studies at BYU. I am a firm believer in LDS doctrines. You are correct. On just about every issue there are varying opinions. There are very few universals that one must believe in order to be Mormon - Jesus is Saviour with a separate body from the Father, Joseph Smith was a prophet (whatever a "prophet" means to the individual), no sexual relations outside of marriage, people will be punished for their own sins, ordinances are essential. That is about it.
Joseph Smith married OTHER MENS WIVES,While the MEN were still ALIVE! Joseph Smith propositioned polygamous marriage to many married women.(Polyandry is when one woman has multiple husbands at one time.) Joseph smiths wives that had LIVING husbands! (1) Lucinda Pendleton, (2) Zina Diantha Huntington, (3) Prescendia Lathrop Huntington, (4) Sylvia Porter Sessions, (5) Mary Elizabeth Rollins, (6) Patty Bartlett, (7) Sarah Maryetta Kingsley, (8) Ruth Daggett Vose, (9) Elvira Annie Cowles
Brigham Young"The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 11, p. 269, August 19,1866)

37 Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children...because they were given unto him,and he abode in my law...because they did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are Gods.
Speaking to a group of departing missionaries... "Brethren, I want you to understand that it is not to be as it has been heretofore. The brother missionaries have been in the habit of picking out the prettiest women for themselves before they get here, and bringing on the ugly ones for us; hereafter you have to bring them all here before taking any of them, and let us all have a fair shake." - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, The Lion of the Lord, New York, 1969, pp.129-30.
YoungApologetics Mormons Can't get to the highest heaven with out polygamy
"I have noticed that a man who has but one wife, and is inclined to that doctrine, soon begins to wither and dry up, while a man who goes into plurality [of wives] looks fresh, young, and sprightly." - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses Vol 5, page 22
"I think no more of taking another wife than I do of buying a cow." - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, The Twenty Seventh Wife, Irving Wallace, p. 101.
"Some quietly listen to those who speak against the plurality of wives, . . . Such persons have half-a-dozen devils with them all the time. You might as well deny 'Mormonism,' and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives. Let the Presidency of this Church, and the Twelve Apostles, and all the authorities unite and say with one voice that they will oppose the doctrine, and the whole of them will be damned." - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses, vol. 5, p. 203
Man can be Eternally SEALED to more than one worthy woman. Woman can be Sealed to only one man. EXCEPT if she essentially gets her sealing broken(ie divorce). This is possible but it is very very difficult to do without cause. The marriages that are done civilly (for time only) are according to the law of the land. If a womans sealed spouse dies she is stil sealed\married for eternity that si teh point. If she turns her back on that and marries civily she could be dumped by the dead spouse.
YoungApologetics Those members who now feel they have lost their chance at exaltation because polygamy is no longer practiced in the church can take heart: Obviously the holy practice will commence again after the Second Coming of the Son of Man and the ushering in of the millennium." (LDS Mormon Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 578).
Have you ever asked street or youtube Christians some basic questions like this? You seriously think that people who dont know, dont care enough to know, or who are just ignorant about a subject giving their input as fact anyway is something unique to Mormons. LOL Your really stretching here man. I read allt eh comments from teh video you mentions and there was very minor differences from the people who say they are mormons. just keep Eternal vs civil marriage straight and it all makes sense
