@druGakos: Doro is successful since about 27 Years. I'm a fan of her since 20 years and I've been at the 25 Years Concert at her hometown. She's got an incredible voice and she's such a nice person either !Tarja, though she's a great singer too, can be proud of this chance to sing a song with her... (by the way: she had only three albums with Warlock, since that time she's working solo and made lots of albums. Just take a look at her discography and listen to her music if you want to judge her)

Seriously now, there are indeed respectable singers with a status, Like Doro Pesch or Ozzy Osbourne, or Klaus Meine. But they gained their status by persistence - they are in the scene from 30-45 years.

I saw Doro with Dio and Yngwie Malmsteen. At that point all I knew is she was from the band Warlock -- not sure I had ever heard any Warlock at that point and I definitely never heard any of her solo stuff but let me tell you guys, she rocked hard. Great voice, and a fantastic performer.

Come on plz, Anette can sing and I love new NW as well. I know U can´t really compare Anette and Tarja if U only are hearing their different styles. Anette fits very well to sing NW´s new songs - I mean it´s hard to imagine Tarja to sing songs like Amaranth, Escapist, BBB and so on...

Both girls are great singers in their own style. Tarja is unique on her own.

I don't know about losing their 'status' since it wasn't like Tarja led the group. As far as being involved in the band, Tarja was only the singer. She had no imput in the song writing credits or the musical composition.

There are many elements to create a song. Not even the best possible writer nor composer couldn´t do much more than just "instrumental" song without singer. I think You should never underrate how much singer really means to a band. During that time Tarja was in NW, Tuomas did all his song writings to Tarja´s voice clearly so she was a really big element there. Changing that element changes the whole band, period.

Hm, not yet period. Again to importance of a singer. Bad singer can make good song to sound lousy! I could say easily that singer could ruin a good song totally. For example Strato hired a woman singer few years ago (for a short moment though) - instantly Tolkki got serious threatnings from their fans. Not surprise, could someone imagine a male singer in NW???

Singer is the one you hear right away when she/he opens her/his mouth, so singer´s imput is her/his voice and it´s very important!
