It is a pity that someone that has been a great player, as we can see him playing in this video, has nowadays become a sad shadow of what he once was in the past. If you watch his performance in the Clapton's 2010 Crossroads Festival you will realize it.

why do you post this as from 81? i was there standing about 3 people back in front of johnny winter and it was august 1980. buddy miles came out later in the set and drummed on a song too. 1981 the stage was rained out and all acts were performing on the main stage. i was there too. maybe the video came out in 1981 but this show was obviously from 1980. i can see myself in the crowd in some of these clips. i remember being so close i could see into johnnys eyes under the brim of his hat.

Was Winter getting paid by the note? Mojo Buford certainly seemed surprised that Winter actually stopped. I can't remember the name of the guy who plays the second guitar solo but is so much more in keeping with the blues. Winter's singing is pretty poor, strained and over the top.
