They played songs from his first 5 albums. with no guarantee that he would show up the place was packed and people loved it even though he never showed. when you can pack a place with no promise you will show and have your old band perform music that was mostly all written,produced,and performed by you. and that being less than a third of your catalog...then you are a bad mofo!!

To those who say Prince is a good guitarist... the stuff he's playing is standard riffs- nothing special, or original or challenging. But I guess that's true- he is a good guitar player, but far short of even being 'REALLY GOOD". It's not a bad thing- he's a pop star. but if he had to earn his living with his axe, he's in trouble.

The key is to make the audience think you’re good and create excitement. The average onlooker will say he’s great. Only real guitarist will say what you’re saying. Guitarist that would stand in the middle of the stage and play like steve via and put everyone to sleep.

This is all funny because if you read the articles from the day after this Rock Hall induction ceremony they say that Dhani Harrison asked Prince to play a solo because Prince was content to just play rhythm. And even during the solo Prince looks over at Dhani a couple times like 'do you want me to keep going'. Prince is far from humble, but this was preplanned with the other stars...
