Im so happy to find this, I watched it as a kid and now I am glad to share it with my children. I wish they made more simple cartoons like this now. The strange thing I'm noticing as an adult now, is that elephants are matriarchal, not patriarchal, and this family group is still run by men, though there are strong female characters....kind of biologically inaccurate! Oh well, still worth watching and i can explain it to my kids when their old enough to understand :)

English isn't my first language although I am rather fluent in the language. The cartoons I see on CN are sometimes hard to understand because they talk so fast and often the voices are so high pitched, like some sort of helium influence. I get tired just listening to them. This one however, is easy to listen to, easy to understand and I don't get tired watching. Besides that point I loved this cartoon as a kid and it is so nice being able to see it again. Good memories.

Thank You so much for posting this. I used to watch Babar all the time when I was younger and I just realized how much you can learn from watching it. Babar shares a valuable lesson after every single story he tells. There is also a lot of humour in it, especially when Rataxes is in a 'good mod'. I gotta admit that I was scared of the hunter though. Babar's nightmare of him after meeting Madam was frightening.
